CBS News/NYT Poll: Romney Leading Independents by 12 Points

As Captain America said, I can do this all day…

Another day, another skewed poll we get to shoot holes into. This time, it’s the CBS News/NYT poll:

Total respondents: 898

Democrat sample: 321 (36%)

Republican sample: 242 (27%)

Independent sample: 335 (37%)

For liberals trolling RedState, that’s a 9-point Dem over-sampling count.

Romney wins Independents by TWELVE (12) POINTS…wins on the economy, the deficit, even immigration…yet Obama leads 48-47?

Amidst a sea of polls skewed to favor Obama, this one may take the prize. CBS News/NYT pollsters have officially entered bizarro world with this disgrace of a polling sample.

I will say this: Romney winning Independents by 12 points = LANDSLIDE victory a week from today…BANK IT.

Keep up the great work, fellow conservatives. Let’s fight to the finish and take this country back!

I’ve been cautiously predicting a landslide for months…this election has ALWAYS been a referendum on Obama. It’s also fun to watch Rasmussen’s Senate Balance of Power go from leans Democrat to even. I understand Romney’s “I’ll reach across the aisle” attitude, but let’s face it: Republicans have GOT to take back the Senate to overturn Obamacare, Dodd-Frank and anything else the Dems have run through in the last 6 years. I’ve SO wanted him to say, “If you elect me and give me a Republican House and Senate, we’ll really get this country back on the right path”. I know, I know, but I’d personally like to hear him say that.

We’ve passed the point of no return!

How much did Obama win independents by? I expect that Obama will definitely get fewer R crossover votes than he got in 2008 (although I don’t see how anyone calls themselves Republican and votes Obama either 2008 or 2012)

Ohio stubborn polling is concerning. Dem fraud has me concerned here as well. I am dreading and looking forward to Tuesday. This is killing me.

Ohio polling is fine. The only reputable, time-tested pollster has Romney winning as of this moment. Let me ease your mind, earlgrey: The ONLY way Obama wins this election is if Democrats turn every single one of their people out and significant portions of our side stay home. Romney is KILLING Obama where the Independent vote is concerned. If the 2012 voter ID is anything resembling 2010, Romney will win HUGE. The math is simply unavoidable.

Concern troll much? EVERY indication is that Romney is going to win this thing. The question is whether he does it barely or in a landslide. The reputable polls (Gallup, Rasmussen) all suggest this outcome. The fact that undecideds always break for the challenger. The terrible economy. Benghazigate. Need I go on? The only reason anyone would even question whether Romney will win is if they are concern trolling. And I don’t much appreciate your poor attitude on this blog.

I dodn’t realize this was your blog. I am hardly a concern troll. I have been on this blog for years and until the upgrade which limits my access, I had a regular presence here. Youake that accusation based on a single comment. Get your facts straight before you shoot your mouth off.

Perhaps I am not missing all that much with reduced access to disqus if this is the kind of “activist” the new site attracts.

Come now, folks. No need to argue. We’re all on the same team. I just think the time for hand-wringing has long since passed. It’s time to steamroll Obama by getting every single one of our people to the voting booth. THAT should be our focus right now, nothing less.

          • earlgrey

You are right. Our county GOP is making calls to a swing state as we are full GOP in our state. Urge everyone in safe R states to contact county GOP and see of they can help.

Of all the ‘Improvements’ this site was painting for us,
this ['discus snots'] was one that no one [on WordPress] was asking any questions about. But it is not our site, and we had no opinions asked of us.
It used to be ‘an experience, and more-than-uplifting’ to come here.
Now we’re just faces in a crowd and a substantial amount of ‘that old magic’ is gone. Numerous, prior participants have voted with their absence, and this place is the poorer for it.
“The thrill is gone,… gone away …for good…….”
Good to see you, compadre’. Freedom and Liberty to you and yours.

Thanks. I just can’t access comments or member diaries except from my phone. My comments end up being brief since it is from my phone. I appreciate your support. I miss the old site. I’d be willing to give the new site more time/effort if it didn’t have to be from my phone. Thanks again.

‘earlgrey’ has been on this site for at least as long as I (Kudos by the way) and to even hint he/she is a C T is really beyond the pale.
If you are goning to drive a car and shift gears, at least know how to push in the clutch. As of this post you’re ‘makin’ funny grinding noises’, t85.
        Drive much?

The polls showing Obama up in Ohio still don’t have him over 50%…AND that is with an 8 point Dem advantage over Republicans. There is no way that will be the case on election day

  • earlgrey

I meant how much did he win them by in 2008. Not in the poll.

I feel as though all things are falling into place for a huge win by Romney/Ryan. When Obama has to send Bill Clinton to Minnesota, that shows how bad they’ve bungled it, it is as blue as Massachusetts, even more so, and now they have to try to keep it.

Governor Romney has been charitable towards the people hurt by Hurricane Sandy, and not with government money. He’s asked people at rallies to bring canned food, donated his bus, asked that people donate to charities that can help people instead of his campaign. MItt is a leader and a good man with character.

Unlike Obama who asked people Monday to call in from phone banks in places that were evacuated. Obama may gain a point in approval by doing his job, at this point it’s too little too late. When they write the story of this campaign, the lead will be September 11, 2012 and how the president acted like a challenger instead of the president. I can forgive many things, but I cannot forgive liars, and O is the biggest liar ever to occupy the White House, the entire admin is corrupt.

I have made calls for Bush/Cheney in 2008, Scott Brown in 2010 and I am going to try to make calls for Romney/Ryan tomorrow.

I hope that GM and Chrysler CEOs speaking out against the Romney Jeep ad today don’t mess things up for him. If he loses because of their lies they are committing treason as far as I’m concerned.

In the end, the American public will vote with the man best able to rescue this country…and it sure as heck won’t be the idiot that put America in peril.

    • runner12

What they say is rather moot, given that even the Leftist WaPo even admitted that everything in the ad was true. I seriously doubt anything those CEO’s say will make a bit of difference.
