THIS is What the Unhinged Left Looks Like on the Eve of an Historic Election Loss

…and it couldn’t have been delivered by a more delicious source: the left’s own economics darling, NYT columnist and Nobel Laureate, Paul “the world as it should be, not reality” Krugman:

HEADLINE:

You’re Stupid If You Think It’s Close

http://krugman.blogs.nytimes.com/2012/11/03/reporting-that-makes-you-stupid/

Yes…that’s right…the “great” Paul Krugman, writing for the New York Times, is calling anyone who thinks the election doesn’t currently reflect an impending Obama blowout STUPID.

And who does Krugman cite in defending his oh-so-brilliant assertion? Why it’s none other than fellow left-wing pundit, Daily Kos blogger and poll cherry-picker, Nate Silver.

In other words, according to an Obama acolyte relying on the prediction of another, Obama is winning big…and anyone who doesn’t recognize this is…STUPID.

You know, I am reminded of my first substitute teaching gig at an Indiana high school back before the 2000 Election. I had a high school class that was intent upon discussing the election. I asked them to give me a show of hands as to who they were supporting:

Gore: 20

Bush : 1

I then asked the students to come list on the board, without any source materials to help them, the reasons they supported their candidates. Here is what I got:

Gore supporters: Bush is stupid; Bush is a communist (no joking here); Bush wants to kill old people; Bush is a smoker

Bush supporter: Bush is pro-life; Bush believes in low taxes

I then told the students to take their seats and cast their gazes on the board. I further tasked them with reading the party platforms, which I had brought with me, for 15 minutes. We had a re-vote:

Gore: 3

Bush: 18

In Krugman – and nearly every other committed leftist – I see the following sentiments shouted from the rooftops:

THE AMERICAN PUBLIC IS TOO STUPID TO KNOW WHAT IS BEST FOR THEM

THAT is what Krugman and Silver – to say nothing of Obama – are really saying when we discredit their left-leaning polls and point out early voting and enthusiasm advantages by Republicans heading into Election Day. Never mind what you are witnessing with your own eyes as the GOP is engaged in historic GOTV efforts that are already damaging Obama’s chances of re-election. Don’t you know that these POLLS POLLS POLLS are correct? You know, the polls from the NYT and NBC?

Here’s a little newsflash for you, Paulie:

The American public choosing greatness instead of Greece is not “stupid”, it’s SANITY. You’d best enjoy your last remaining weeks of an Obama presidency (AND Democrat senate) while you can. The strong, principled American public is coming to take the country back. To believe anything otherwise is stupid not realistic.

APA, Krugman has merely added to the proof that the left has become “unhinged”. This past week has been an unmitigated disaster for them. You got Axelrod trying to describe a stump speech and claims Obama’s speech is ” coming from his loins”. Then Obama attempts to channel his inner Wrath of Khan persona when he launched off into a “revenge” tirade. (I really did expect him to break out the “revenge is a dish best served cold” line at his next rally). And Biden has made at least a gaffe a day this week. But that’s not unusual for him, so he’s hard to use as a barometer. But their inability to speak their thoughts in any rational way indicates they have lost their collective minds.

Agreed that things are not pretty. Still, MAObama could commit ritual human sacrifice on national TV and his Kool-Aide drinkers would explain it away as necessary, and nobody on his side would switch to Romney, And with “early voting,” even if you were horrified to see such an act, it would be too late.

      • APA Guy

Obama is WAY down in early voting compared to 2008…and even left-leaning polls show Romney winning those who are going to vote on Election Day by 12-15 points.

Ausonius! Looky, they hate us. They really, really hate us :) I got ten lashes and so did you! Woohoo! we are on a roll now.

On a personal note, my liberal friends aren’t unhinged, they’re confident.
And the Real Clear Politics numbers give me pause.

Even Rassmussen has Obama up in the EC.

Krugman and Silver can take a walk, but I don’t understand all this talk of a Romney landslide at all.

    • APA Guy

It’s very simple: the numbers are swarming in our direction. Nearly every poll I have seen – including those WAY over-sampling Dems – has Romney winning Election Day voters by 12-15 points. Romney wins Independents by 10-20 points in these same polls.

Plus, these oh-so-sacred polls are over-sampling Dems…even Rasmussen. Problem is, our side is MORE enthusiastic about voting than we were in 2010 when turnout was about 35% Dem, 35% GOP, 30% unaffiliated.

In other words, unless Obama KILLS Romney in early voting (isn’t happening…not by a long shot) or our people stay home on Tuesday (ARE YOU FREAKING KIDDING ME?), Romney will win and win BIG. There simply aren’t enough Democrats to make up the hole Obama has in the electorate right now.

    • Ausonius

This is the tragedy of American democracy, that with national bankruptcy brought closer by MAObama’s worthless 50% increase of the national debt, 8% + unemployment, disasters internationally, a growing crisis between the government and major religions, and looming confiscatory taxes and restrictions of our basic freedoms, that with all this the Left is seemingly close to winning the election, so close that a little corrupted voting might allow them to win it.

Remember the “Bradley Effect” that was supposed to disprove the polls about MAObama’s lead in 2008? That a hidden 5-7% of people would never say that they were actually intending NOT to vote for BIG BRObama? It obviously never happened.

So let us hope that while the popular vote may be close, the electoral vote count will be where one sees a “landslide.”

  • PowerToThePeople

Not too mention APA, the Skins prediction game. 17 out of 18 correct and with their loss today, if the prediction stay true, Romney wins.

Yep I know a football game is not the accurate thing to look at, but 17 out of 18 ain’t bad. Lets hope it goes 18 for 19.

Has anyone told Disqus what Redstaters expect when our candidates win elections? You know, the balloons dropping from the top of the monitor screen that we pop with our cursor. And a row of high stepping dancers, like Rockettes moving across the bottom of the screen. And a scrolling sidebar with pictures of liberals we can’t stand with phrases like “buh bye” stamped on their forheads. Maybe we should prepare disqus. So they’ll know.

    • Bill S

I’d like to tell Disqus a lot of things, but if I said them here, I’d have to ban myself for profanity.

      • jimmyg

I imagine, post election, their is going to be a serious discussion among the powers that be, re: discus, the new web site and what these changes have wrought.

        • tngal

I just thought if we did go wild ( piano playing cat, dancing guinea pigs, etc) then they might want a heads up. This place gets wicked when posters let their hair down.

Early voting is over in Nevada, and a little over 50% of total registered voters have voted.

Democrats had a 48,000 vote lead over Republicans. If you factor in all the Independents who voted, I would say the lead is 40,000 or less.

We should be able to make that up on a election day.
