Book Jackie Mason for the Convention

Memo to the RNC:

In 2008, the President got 78% of votes cast by Jewish citizens.  Because they tend to participate at very high rates, this makes these votes even more important in such battleground states as Florida and Ohio.

Everyone knows the buyers’ remorse which has set in amongst Jews.

Want to close the deal, and raise the entertainment value of upcoming convention?  Book Jackie Mason for a 10 or 15 min speaking slot.

Here, from WND.com, is a taste of what he would say:

Stated Mason: “What I would like to know is this: Why does it take five years to find out that Israel is there? Did he just buy a map a week ago? He didn’t know that Israel exists until two hours ago?”

The stand up continued: “Can someone answer this question? The Jews gave him 78 percent of their vote. They went everywhere to help him but he can’t go across the street to help them? He is in Egypt and in Lebanon and every country around there within a block and a half of Israel. And he couldn’t cross the street to say hello to them?”

Mason said the Obama campaign’s announcement last week of a second term visit to Israel sends a message to Jewish voters that “they don’t deserve [a visit] unless they send him another 78 million dollars and give them another 78 percent of the vote.”

At this point, Rabbi Mason (he was trained as one) needs no introduction.  His website, however, is here www.jackiemason.com, and the link to above is here http://www.wnd.com/2012/08/jackie-mason-rips-obama-for-not-visiting-israel/

Do us all a favor and lighten up the program.

Then follow it up with someone who speaks directly to the white, blue collar demographic which Donks have written off.  How about Larry the Cable Guy?

I was half kidding when I suggested Jackie Mason for the convention. However, I am perfectly serious in suggesting that the televised fare be broken up with targeted entertainment such as him and his act.

Think Mike Huckabee and his show. Mix in Polka music, or a Lawrence Welk offshoot. Have the school choir from Joplin, MO. Encourage religion, invite the metro Catholic choir from some city. Pay them so that it isn’t mixing church and state.

Get a big name pastor to speak the invocation, and another the closing prayer.

Because although I and countless others will be listening carefully to the speeches, it would be nice to think that the party which I am supporting stands for something over and above winning the next election.

Today my song of the day is “Daniel.”

It’s a shame that we have so much and produce so little good music any more.

Olympians would do wonders for the “American Dream” theme.

And I have one of them on 33rpm vinyl! And I can still play it! I still have a real turntable and a serviceable tonearm with a diamond needle and a good old amplifier. But the real beauty of the record is the music and I was a very, very young child when I bought it. 5 years old in fact. I heard “Daniel” on the radio and thought the music came from the atmosphere, at 5 years old I was afraid it would be lost forever! because it came from the air! My father told me: “No, it’s from a record and it’s played over the radio” and we went and bought one at Melody Records in Union, NJ.

Of course, Elton John has been so gay for so long it’s hard not to mention it. I’m not, but I’m glad I had that record when I was a kid just because like so many other records from that period it’s so much better than anything being produced today. I sound like a curmudgeon but it’s true. It’s almost as though a lot of artists don’t care any more, and that’s very sad. Or maybe the record companies don’t care what kind of garbage they produce as long as it sells to their musically impoverished masses.

I still recommend people listen to good music by building an audiophile quality set of speakers sourced from Human Speakers in New Hampshire. I have a set of 88-41s and they’re better than Huw describes them. No political affiliation WHATSOEVER folks, so don’t take your anger out on Huw. Just buy his speakers and listen to some good music.
