PA Voters – Did You Know About the Swing Vote on the PA Supreme Court? [Updated]

The primary for a critical PA judicial election is coming up.  The PA Supreme Court (can I say SCOPA?) is evenly split, so the winner of this election will determine the direction of PA courts for many years.  The PAGOP site has a list of endorsements, though I would recommend reading this article for actual analysis before taking their recommendations.

UPDATE

The primary election is Tuesday, May 19.  See endorsements from FOAC (Firearms Owners Against Crime) and LIFEPAC (SW PA pro-life lobby) for more info on how the candidates stack up.

Also, PAGOP is endorsing Joan Orie-Melvin for PA Supreme Court.  All the candidates running appear to be pro-Constitution but the PAGOP’s abysmal track record (see my previous post) encourages skepticism of whoever they endorse.  It turns out there are rumors – and I can’t independently verify this – that Orie-Melvin donated $10,000 to Democrats in Philadelphia in 2007.  As the above link shows, FOAC endorses both Orie-Melvin and Cheryl Allen.

and SCOPA rhymes with JoePa, so I give the acronym a thumbs up.
