It is becoming clear that President Obama is failing the big test in foreign relations spoken of by his Vice president, Joe Biden. Biden said that Barack Obama would be tested early into his presidency by a crisis.

The United States has recently appeased tension with Russia by promising not to place the ABM (anti-ballistic missle) system in Poland. The message here is that the United States is no longer committed to the protection of eastern European allies in the face of missle threat, whether from Russia or terrorists.

Iran has uncovered a second nuclear plant which now raises the concern that their nuclear program is being expanded for weapons development. Iran has declared in no uncertain terms that they will not stop their nuclear program. Iran’s stance has even brought rare criticism from United Kingdom’s Brown, who said he would not rule out any solution. President Obama’s speech at the U.N. and the G20 Summit, has apparently even caused French President Sarcozy to realize that the United States has no intention of doing anything meaningful. As reported in the New York Times:

It is shameful when the White House is accused of betrayal by close allies in eastern and central Europe, but utterly humiliating when even the Elysee Palace thinks the United States has been transformed from a lion to a lamb in the face of mounting global threats. As The Wall Street Journal reported this morning, French president Nicolas Sarkozy was less than impressed with Barack Obama’s performance last week in the face of the Iranian nuclear crisis.

The fact is our allies know we are weak. Our allies are being alienated by President Obama. Furthermore they know that President Obama has sent a clear signal that the United States is no longer going to take the lead against threats posed by rogue nations or terrorism. This scares them. As much criticism as George Bush and Dick Cheney received for their leadership in the war on terror, Europe felt more secure because of our past willingness to lead the cowardly U.N. They could hide behind it. Now President Obama has joined the United States with the ranks of the talk but take no action nations of the Security Council. In the minds of the French, what happens when the United States becomes the pacifist?

After six months in office the Rasmussen poll shows President Obama’s approval rating is falling. Rasmussen presidential approval rating shows 38% of likley voters now strongly disapprove of Obama’s performance, while 30% of likely voters strongly approve (Rasmussen Reports Daily president tracking polls). Rush Limbaugh had some good advice to go with Obama’s sinking approval rating. Don’t over estimate the polls as the end all of this leftist agenda. I believe it was IJB of Red State who first said that President Obama will not be a poll driven president. I agree. It was not that long ago when President Obama gave a defiant speech about closing Gitmo in the face of a 93% disapproval of funding by the congressional committee. Obama does not retreat from public opinion. He is a determined ideologue to advance his deliberate destructive policies on the United States. Policies that purposely grow the deficit to devalue the dollar perhaps to cause a take over by an international currency. Beyond the spending is what is in the bills hidden from Americans. Expansion of abortion. The reduction of quality healthcare replaced by government bureaucrats who decide who lives and dies. As Rush Limbaugh described it the stimulus package was nothing more than a government power surge. Employment has shot up to 10% since the stimulus bill. Guess what? Employers are still not hiring. Everything Obama has done has been secretive and sold on the false premise of hope, change and fear.

On the foreign policy and military front things are just as alarming. President Obama made his position known before he was elected. He said he would cut missle defense. The raptor super sonic fighter project has been cancelled. Obama has attacked CIA policies. Unnecessarily playing out our intelligence gathering tactics before the world. Obama has met the heightened aggression of North Korea and Russia with an apology tour. Were we not here before? I think it was the late 70s and early 80s. Jimmy Carter met aggression with appeasement. I remember. We have heard this and seen this all before. With the lessons learned from the past, and President Obama’s deliberate destructive policies, I submit that he knows exactly what he is doing and that his time is short. Obama is bent on defiantely forcing his will onto Americans.

Obama and the democrats oppose American exceptionalism and are seeking to subject us to a global order of collectivism. To do that they must destroy us economically and weaken us militarily. Unlike Clinton, the polls will not control him. Obama is as close to anything this nation has had to a dictator.

This essay is a continuance of some of my comments. The point is straight forward. The true conservative base is shrinking. My opinion is based on a number of things. One being a political pollster (name unknown) who stated the demographics favor democratic voters. I see some of this evidence first hand. In my home state of California, the population growth appears to be largely Hispanic. Hispanics are mainly democratic voters. The conservative Cubans in Florida are not growing at the same rate as the Latin traditional democratic supporters. The younger white population is not embracing the traditonal values of the past. One poster countered me here by showing that polls indicate the majority are pro-life and against gay marriage. This is true. But all that poll represents is that the trend of voters in this the demographic don’t vote these issues. My neice and her husband, both white and in their twenties, voted for Obama. They are both conservative tradtional people in their personal lives. They go to church he is a Captain in the Marine Corps. My neice was raised Catholic. Whether it is through immgration or the younger voting population or both, this trend shows a tilt toward progressive liberal candidates. Another contributing factor is education.

The public schools and universties have turned into socio-political indoctrination centers. Political correctness is the theme in everything. Todays history books minimize the positive image of our founding fathers and heritage. California passed legislation about two years ago to reprint all school text books which would depict homosexual characters in our history. One citizen wrote in our local paper that highschool history books now depict D-Day as the day the “UN forces” invaded France. Of course any free expression of Christianity is discouraged or out right suppressed. This is to ensure that American children will not learn that Judeo Christian values were the foundation of our nation. There is even an active effort to undermine parental influence on their children by counteracting it with what I have described above. I will not go into the obvious hostile liberal environment on our college campuses. What this all adds up to is a progressive influence that dominates the cultural landscape, and I believe it is having a negative impact on the conservative base.

I believe this means conservatives could be losing political power in elections. The chances our we will have fewer conservative candidates. I am not happy about this. This has caused me to reflect on my importance as a father in providing a positive influence on my daughter’s education and values. One thing I do want to state clearly here is that compromising principles is a dead end and will not lead to the desired result. Cal Thomas said it best. “You can’t have trickle down morality. You can have bubble up morality.” Very simply put, the leaders are only a reflection of the people. What values are the population trend really supporting? Probably moral relativism. Which is why it is getting harder to have a Mike Huckabee as a presidential candidate.
