The unfolding truth about the attack on Lara Logan

While some misguided individuals have been distracted by the repellent comments made by a non-entity named Nir Rosen, some reporters are focusing on important things rather than the foul mind of one idiot at (or formerly at) New York University.

In today’s Boston Herald, Michael Graham does an excellent job in compiling the actual facts of the attack that have been missed or ignored by the old media.

“[60 Minutes] correspondent Lara Logan was repeatedly sexually assaulted by thugs yelling, ‘Jew! Jew!’ as she covered the chaotic fall of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak in Cairo’s main square Friday.”

That is Graham’s opening paragraph and the plot thickens as the story unfolds. What Graham brings to light is CBS’s unwillingness to report or tell the truth about the attack on their employee. In the old media’s rush to maintain the fiction that all the Cairo protesters were peace loving and full of goodwill, they cover-up the real news. They twist what actually happened to fit the left’s preferred narrative.

Other media reported the attack first.

Powerful reporting on an important story. Two problems: It didn’t run until yesterday, and CBS didn’t run it. The quote is from the New York Post. And it was The Wall Street Journal that reported “the separation and assault lasted roughly 20 to 30 minutes.” But CBS? They sat on their own story. For five days, as reporters reveled amid giddy celebrations in Tahrir Square …… CBS reported nothing.

From the beginning the “official” story from CBS smelled like week old fish remains. The story as CBS told it consisted of three primary parts:

1. A “dangerous element of 200″ surrounded Logan and her team.
2. She was separated from her team and brutally assaulted.
3. A “group of women and about 20 Egyptian solders” rescued her.

So we have several eyebrow raising points. A “dangerous element of 200″? What does that mean? Were they wearing Raider hats? In what way were the “dangerous 200″ different from the other thousands in the crowd? If only 200 bad people were there they would have been outnumbered by something like 99.9 to 00.1 so how did the attack continue for 20 to 30 minutes?

A “group of women” rescued her? How did that happen? A “group” suggests fairly small numbers. If a regiment of 300 women suddenly burst on the scene I don’t think anyone would refer to them as a “group of women”. What is a group? 10? 20? 50? How could even 50 women “rescue” a woman from 200 “dangerous” men intent on a sexual attack?

If in fact it was the Egyptian army that rescued her, why was the “group” of women mentioned? Its almost as if CBS wanted to evoke a scene where some bad boys picked on a girl and the women present came to her rescue and consoled her. Sounds a bit like a scene out of Dr. Quinn or Little House on the Prairie doesn’t it? Sort of like things just temporarily got out of hand but nothing really BAD was happening outside of this one little regrettable incident. After all how bad could it have been if a “group of women” could effect a rescue? CBS certainly mentioned nothing at all about a bunch of radical Islamic sexual predators shouting “Jew Jew” as they circled a lone woman for the attack.

Graham goes on to quote liberal Richard Cohen in the Washington Post

“The sexual assault of a woman in the middle of a public square is a story  . . .  particularly because the crowd in Tahrir Square was almost invariably characterized as friendly and out for nothing but democracy,” Cohen wrote.

Watching the same complicit media we all saw, Cohen notes most journalists covered the mobs “as if they were reporting from Times Square on New Year’s Eve, stopping only at putting on a party hat.”

Even CBS’s own statement said Logan was “covering the jubilation” and was attacked “amidst the celebration.”

Having 200 “good guys” gang assault a female reporter while screaming “Jew! Jew!” doesn’t fit the narrative. Is that why CBS sat on the story?

Or is it the cultural issue? A rape in a bar is a sex crime. But a pack of political protesters who rape a “Jew” in public is a story about culture.

I’m thankful that reporters like Michael Graham are not following the red herring shenanigans of the Nir Rosens of this world and are instead digging out the facts and exposing old media’s continued cover-up for radical Islam.

The Daily Beast added that she is “in remarkably good spirits.” Her attackers just got a wee bit out of hand during the jubilant democracy celebration and actually were yelling for “jujubes” because they needed a sugar fix.

With the Muslim Brotherhood almost certain to play a substantial role in the next Egyptian government, looming in the background is the man that Der Spiegel described this week as “the father figure of Egypt’s Muslim Brotherhood”: Sheikh Yusuf al-Qaradawi. Qaradawi has been praised by Saudi-funded Islamic scholar John Esposito as a champion of a “reformist interpretation of Islam and its relationship to democracy, pluralism and human rights.” But numerous statements of Qaradawi demonstrate that he is anything but a “reformist” or a genuine champion of “democracy, pluralism and human rights” – and is, in fact, positively Hitlerian in his Jew-hatred and bloodlust.

What’s a little coverup by CBS to further their agenda?

Is there any video out there on the Logan attack? Or has that been deemed too disturbing by CBS?

…and the Leftist-Media Complex couldn’t care less. Daniel Pearl was decapitated not because he worked for the Wall Street Journal, or was an American per sey. The Arab/Moslem (I’ve stopped using the politically correct “Muslim”) thugs kidnapped him because he was Jewish.

Another Holocaust is a-brewing, and nobody, and I mean NOBODY cares. In fact, all of the much-vaunted transnational gab-fest organizations are setting the table to blame the Jews when their next bloody demise hits them.

First the Jews were hated and vilified because they made homes for themselves in distant lands, and weren’t part of the native populations. Now they are hated for concentrating all in one place, and building a nation that outshines the filth-pit neighbors that surround Israel. Make no mistake: The Third Reich is alive and well, and it is manifesting itself, through Iran and it’s Moslem brotherhood surrogates, right into the heart of Egypt.

hammered for this. There is no excuse. Can you imagine what this woman went through? I wonder if she is a lefty too and if so, is she willing to have the atrocity ignored for the greater good?

The other thing I noted when reading the CBS “offical” story is that they casually mention this nigth of protesting/celebration being different becuase more people came in from the countryside. Then they also casually throw in that the Mubarak supporters had attacked people. Of course that was like 4 days before the the attack on Lara, but they throw it in withtout connecting the two to imply that maybe Mubaraks men were the rapists. Dispicable.

I so was ticked reading this I did a little diary about going on the offensive against the media

About blaming Logan for things like “willing to have the atrocity ignored for the greater good.” She’s been in the hospital. Beat up CBS all you want, but I’d give the lady a lot of latitude here if you don’t have affirmative evidence of her doing something really problematic.

Both Logan and Couric were roughed up well before the atrocity visited on Logan. Couric left. Logan left and returned.

She suffered just what this Egyptian lawyer publicly called for:
