Contrast between presidents:

George Bush, following the 2006 midterm election: If you look at race by race, it was close. The cumulative effect, however, was not too close. It was a thumpin’.

….contrasted with Barack Obama, following the 2010 midterm election: I’m not recommending to every President that they take a shellacking like I did last night

One man talking about an election, one boy talking about himself.

Get over it!!!

Okay…I just read the umpteenth screed pointing out the bad writing and hypocrisy of The Atlantic’s Andrew Sullivan, and I want to say:

I get it!  I know he is a bad writer and hypocrite!!!

Let’s discredit him by ignoring his (and his ghost writers’) stuff, ok?

All this lamenting over this man’s epistolographic demise is driving me crazy.  PLEASE STOP, PEOPLE!  We have a lot more important things to worry about (as in terrorism, the economy, and a Federal Government gone crazy!!!)

Devastating Attack

For my first diary post of 2010, I want to talk about the terrorist attack on a US compound in Afghanistan on December 30. (noted by DrewM at Ace of Spades , who referred readers to the Wall Street Journal’s article on the attack ).

From the WSJ article, these facts:

  • ‘Wednesday’s attack on a U.S. compound in Afghanistan devastated what has been a hub of counterterrorism and intelligence operations for the spy agency.’
  • ‘Leon Panetta said’ it was ‘the second-largest single-day loss for the spy agency in its history’
  • ‘Among the casualties was the agency’s base chief’
  • ‘The Taliban claimed responsibility Thursday for the bombing, which was carried out by suicide bomber wearing an Afghan National Army uniform’
  • ‘the bomber may have been given access to the base because he was believed to be an informant’
  • ‘A number of the officers killed had been counterterrorism operatives since before the 9/11 attacks’ – note EXPERIENCED counterterrorism operatives
  • ‘The loss of seven officers is significant for a relatively small agency whose workforce is estimated to be 10,000 or more, but it’s all the more damaging because those lost represented so much collective experience’
  • ‘It could also sow mistrust between CIA officers and the Afghan operatives with whom they work closely, another former agency officer said. "This is a huge blow to the agency. It’s a close-knit group," the former officer said. "They’re not going to know who to trust now."’
  • ‘The attack in Afghanistan came during an already difficult week for the CIA, which has taken a beating in Washington with President Barack Obama issuing a blunt critique of intelligence failures in advance of the botched Christmas Day terrorist attack.’
  • ‘…the suicide bomber likely penetrated multiple layers of security before detonating the explosives’
  • ‘But CIA outposts on these bases are usually small—no more than 15 or maybe 20 people, so 13 casualties is likely a majority of the CIA base personnel’
  • ‘It would also mark the first time a suicide bomber managed to strike inside a U.S. facility in the country, a sign of the insurgents’ growing sophistication’

When you consider what these fallen and wounded heroes did and how secret it was supposed to be, this attack is possibly the biggest score on Americans for the terrorists since 9/11.   And in view of the Christmas Day Chunibomber attempt on a plane headed to Detroit, what does this administration do?  It subpoenas two travel bloggers for posting a leaked TSA travel directive! Not terrorists, but TRAVEL BLOGGERS !

Dear Lord, please save us from terrorists and these people who are supposed to protect us.

Words of wisdom for President Obama

Dear President:

Please read the following.  If you do not heed these words, I fear you will fall like so many other prideful men before you:

“It is not good to eat too much honey, nor is it honorable to seek one’s own honor” ~ Proverbs 25:27

“It is not good to be partial to the wicked or to deprive the innocent of justice” ~ Proverbs 18:5

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall” ~ Proverbs 16:18

“On the appointed day Herod, wearing his royal robes, sat on his throne and delivered a public address to the people.  They shouted, “This is the voice of a god, not of a man.”  Immediately, because Herod did not give praise to God, an angel of the Lord struck him down, and he was eaten by worms and died.” ~ Acts 12:21-23

MMAs: With “Single Payer”, your money stream dries up

I don’t think the medical malpractice attorneys in this country realize that their money stream is eventually (and, likely, very quickly) going to dry up, assuming the socialists get their way and implement some version of this draconian fiasco of a “health care reform” idea.

We all know that gubment hates competition, and you can bet the socialists will eliminate the right of their serf citizens to sue the nanny state for malpractice, all in the name of “saving money”.

Eye of the Storm

As the August break approaches, the health (s)care “reform” joke that Congress and the TOTUS wish to force on all of us lowlifes has failed to materialize, making for an embarrassing situation for the Prez and his cronies and giving opponents hope that this nightmare of a bill might be stopped.

Unfortunately, this break is just temporary reprieve from the liberals’ socialist agenda.  They are going to keep pushing for some version of Obamacare after the August break, so keep on contacting your representatives and telling your friends what a bad deal this is for the American people!

For a brief moment…

In a July 17 article article, Summer in Washington, Susan Estrich wrote the following:

What other explanation could there be for my friends in Congress and the administration thinking that what the country wants them to do right now is raise taxes and spend a trillion dollars to overhaul health care, much less to push it through in a month in a 1,000-page bill being rewritten every day?…The idea that somehow you’re going to tax the “rich” enough to pay for quality health care for every American who doesn’t have it, can’t afford it or stands to lose it, not to mention for all of the undocumented aliens who receive it for free now and presumably will continue to in Obama health land, is almost laughable. It’s one of those things candidates say in campaigns, ignoring the fact that it doesn’t add up. But in a bill that might pass? Add a 5 percent surtax on every small business in the country that makes $250,000 or more? This is going to create jobs? What am I missing?

She then finishes with this:

I reassured her (Susan’s doctor) that the Democrats would never be that foolish. I hope. Maybe it’s time for Congress to get out of Washington. They’ll get an earful when they do.

Perhaps for a brief moment (it was only a moment since she wrote a smarmy editorial two days later saying “Elections do matter. Barack Obama won, and Sonia Sotomayor will sit on the Supreme Court. Why shouldn’t I smile?“) she saw rightly that the health care takeover that the power-brokers on Capital Hill are attempting is something that would not be good for Americans.

I only wish she could see the full picture…that the politicians in Washington are more concerned about power and control, and that “concern for the American people” is only an excuse to extend these two goals.

Foolishness

Boy, the TOTUS really stepped in it yesterday when he stated that a police officer “acted stupidly” when the officer, Sgt. James Crowley arrested an out-of-control Henry Louis Gates, for “disorderly conduct, accusing him of being uncooperative, refusing to initially provide identification and ‘exhibiting loud and tumultuous behavior’ by repeatedly shouting at a policeman

Gates, director of the W.E.B. Du Bois Institute for African & African American Research at Harvard, should have thanked officer Crowley, who is known for training new officers on diversity training, for heaven’s sakes!  Instead, Mr. Gates disparaged a man of integrity and tolerance who was only trying to protect Gates’ property, as any person of reason would have immediately recognized.

White House press secretary Robert Gibbs later tried to say that the President did not say that Crowley was stupid, but for goodness sakes, Crowley was the arresting officer!

Such vituperative and anger-provoking comments demean the office of President and demonstrate that this man knows NOTHING at all about being a leader.

Congress should adopt the same health care plan as the rest of us!

There, I said it…plain and simple.  Congress (and the President) should submit to the same plan as the rest of us.

They won’t, though.  They are so absolutely arrogant and full of themselves, that they cannot see what this socialist scheme will do to this country.

Prediction: If this beast passes I predict a multitude of lawsuits attacking various parts of this bill and a few states that will simply refuse to cooperate.  Too bad my beloved state of Washington won’t be one of them!
