Bret Baier Covers Media Blackout on March for Life

This year’s annual March for Life in Washington, DC, drew 500,000 people.  As is typical with the hyper-partisan mainstream press, there was a virtual media blackout.

Many a news consumer last week may have heard nothing about last Monday’s March for Life (my photos here) in Washington, D.C. Thank you, Bret Baier, for not only noting the March but the media blackout:

What’s flabbergasting shocking is abortion clinics are NOT currently regulated or licensed? That is effing unbelievable!!! WTF?

How could that be possible? Even a freakin hair cutter needs a damn license and is regulated. You can’t give a kid an aspirin at school w/out parents permission.

Yet this disgusting invasive procedure is unlicensed and unregulated? Pathetic.

Notice the wording in this article, almost like they are implying it is out of bounds for the suggestion of regulation. “if a group of lawmakers get their way” ? Sick.

    ***********************
“There could be big changes for Minnesota’s abortion clinics, if a group of lawmakers gets its way.

There’s a new bill at the Capitol that would require clinics that perform abortions to be licensed and regulated by the Minnesota Department of Health. Under the bill, health officials would inspect clinics twice a year, with one unannounced visit. It would also require ultra sounds for patients and a physician would have to be present when writing a prescription for an abortion.

State Representative, Carolyn McElpatrick, (R) Grand Rapids, is the bill’s co-sponsor. She tells 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS other states license abortion clinics and that this is about making sure women and girls are safe when they choose an abortion.

But, opponents disagree. Linnea House, with the Minnesota Abortion Rights Action League, says this is a veiled attempt to limit access to abortions and gives the state unprecedented authority to close abortion clinics down if they have a high enough number of violations that go uncorrected for a lengthy period of time.”

but not abattoirs .. sorry, abortion clinics?

And people wonder how Kermit Gosnell escaped detection so long…

      Disgusting.

Patients are supposed to survive at the local GP’s office. The women at Dr. Gosnell’s abortuary were merely collatoral damage. As the old Field Artillery adage goes “(Bleep) ‘em if they can’t take a joke!”

Not trying to plug any of my diaries here, but I wrote a 5-part series on this called the Abortion “Onion”. It explains the lack of regulatory measures within the industry, how Planned Parenthood is pursuing becoming a self-accredited regulatory organization, why they are attempting to do so, and why we need to prevent this from happening.

I’m ecstatic that states are finally beginning to realize just how abusive the abortion industry has become. This is great news!!! Amen and Hallelujah! It won’t entirely or completely eliminate abortion, but it will put abortion providers in a situation where they HAVE to be held accountable.

Agree with acat…no more Dr Gosnell’s!!!!

Late in December, VA Gov. McDonnell signed into law some of the most strict abortion clinic regulations in the nation. The clinics were regulated like doctors offices before, but now must meet the same regulation requirements as hospitals. There were 22 abortion clinics in VA, and not long after this legislation was proposed, many of them started closing their doors. They can not afford to upgrade their facilities to meet the new requirements. Problem is, now anyone wanting an abortion will just travel to NC, or other neighboring states that still does not regulate their clinics of death. This is still a significant gain for the pro-lifers, now we just have to get it in all, or most states. Atty. Gen. Cuccinelli proposed this very idea shortly after taking office. Hopefully he will be our next Gov.

than to memory hole them later.

My children and I were among the 2000 people at the Roe vs Wade silent walk in the major city near us. The city paper did not report on the event.

Three days before that, 16 Occupy marchers protested on the anniversary of Citizens United vs FEC. They got 1000 sympathetic words.

The day after our event, there was a 1,500 person school choice rally which was covered both before and afterward.

I wrote to the editor, but I’m sure my e-mail was immediately deleted from the inbox.

It’s frustrating to experience media bias, but it is completely infuriating when one’s children are given the unpeople treatment.
