Kansas-04: Liberal Republican Jean Schodorf labels opponents ‘extremists’ & ‘scorpions,’ tells us about her ‘clean campaign’
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | July 28th at 06:29 AM |
If you’re pro-life, support tax reform, want parent-driven school choice rather than NEA-dictated K-12 education, Jean Schodorf apparently thinks you’re an “extremist.” And Mike Pompeo and Wink Hartman are like scorpions. But Jean Schodorf wants to tell you about her clean campaigning. Here is a very lazy and pro-liberal news story by Wichita’s NBC affiliate, KSN Channel 3. In it, KSN effectively performs a campaign advertisement for congressional candidate Jean Schodorf, who agrees more with Democrats than Republicans on | Read More »
The FairTax is a waste of time, as currently written
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | July 17th at 05:26 PM |
I consider it a complete, thorough waste of time and energy to pass the FairTax, as its currently written. There is one simple reason: there is no super-majority requirement to raise the tax rate in the future. If the currently-drafted FairTax is passed, the US Congress will be able to raise the tax rate — constantly, forever — through a simple majority vote. FairTax supporters | Read More »
Liberal Democrat State AG: Obama is wrong to sue Arizona over immigration law
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | July 15th at 08:15 AM |
Kansas Attorney General Steve Six was appointed by far-left Democratic Governor Kathleen Sebelius, now a cabinet member in President Obama’s administration. Six is making his first state-wide election effort in 2010, running against moderate Republican Senate Majority Leader Derek Schmidt. The Associated Press: In a letter Wednesday to U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder, Six expressed disappointment with Holder’s decision to sue Arizona over the new | Read More »

True pro-life leadership
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | June 29th at 12:56 AM |
I am genuinely impressed by this man’s leadership. Meet Matt Webb from Overland Park, KS. Until recently, he had been one of three candidates running in Kansas House District 20, currently held by moderate-to-liberal Republican Kevin Yoder, who is retiring from the Legislature after eight years (at the young age of 34) in order to run for the US Congress. The three-way primary in District | Read More »
Karen Handel and Pamela Gorman are beat on Facebook by Patricia Lightner
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | June 24th at 07:04 AM |
I admit that with this headline, I’m trying to get Erick Erickson’s attention. Tom McClintock is the US Congressman from California’s 4th Congressional District. He is supported by Club for Growth and he is a respected, national leader in Congress. Karen Handel is endorsed by RedState.com and Congressman Tom Price. Handel is running for governor of Georgia. Conservative Arizona State Senator Pamela Gorman is endorsed by | Read More »
School spending transparency: Oklahoma leads the way.
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | June 19th at 10:43 PM |
In Kansas, over half of Kansas state budget is spent on our under-performing K-12 schools. Currently, the state-wide average is $12,000 spent per student. And nobody knows where the money goes. The problem is bi-partisan. Democratic teachers unions don’t want the public to know where the money is going, and neither do the self-centered Republican “moderates” who represent local school boards, and who are primarily | Read More »

By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | June 15th at 02:22 PM |
Tim Huelskamp is running against liberal Republican State Senator Jim Barnett and Rob Wasinger, the former Brownback Chief of Staff whom its safe to assume was heavily involved with Brownback’s shift left in recent years on issues like abortion, immigration, spending, and S-Chip. New poll for Johnson County Chair: Possible opening for conservative John Toplikar against liberals Ed Eilert, Annabeth Surbaugh, and John Segale
By: Benjamin Hodge (Diary) | June 14th at 12:56 PM |
Note: This is the race for the “mayor” of Johnson County, which contains over 500,000 people and about 330,000 voters, or about a fifth of Kansas voters. On June 9, I wrote about a survey in Johnson County and in the 4th Congressional District, performed by my political action committee on June 4, 5, and 6. As part of that same survey, we asked questions about | Read More »
