    The FairTax is a waste of time, as currently written

    I consider it a complete, thorough waste of time and energy to pass the FairTax, as its currently written. There is one simple reason:  there is no super-majority requirement to raise the tax rate in the future.  If the currently-drafted FairTax is passed, the US Congress will be able to raise the tax rate — constantly, forever — through a simple majority vote.
