There is a long list of those in congress that benefited from Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac. At the time they saw nothing wrong with it. It’s like trying to see past your everyday bills. If the money is coming in then you live in the day. If it suddenly stops and the bills keep coming then, we look back and forward to see what we can do and what we should have done. Now does this mess need cleaned up? Read Sarah Palin’s answer to Sean Hannity about this. She was clear about what needs cleaned up. I don’t see Barack Obama as maliscious but as an opportunist to do what ever he needs to do including rubbing elbows with the unsavory to reach his political goals. That can be scary. I do feel better with Colin Powell and Joe Biden on his side.

When I watched the comedy routine from John McCain at the Alfred E. Smith dinner the other night, I saw the old John McCain, sharp, timing perfect and not looking old and held down. He has been so held down by his handlers that he has come off as unable to rebut during the debates (sigh.) His passion was squelched and then came that dinner. I didn’t know what I was going to do until I watched him come out of his shell.

I will be out of town on Election Day but here in Washington State I get my ballot in the mailbox. It arrived yesterday and I voted for John McCain. He needs to let go, to be himself, no more dirty ads, just straightforward honesty. I see that these ads go against his grain. All he can say is that it has been tough. He casts his eyes downward when they are brought up. I wish that during that last debate both candidates would have agreed to pull all the negative ads and focus there ads on the issues. No one believes them anyway. It’s a waste of money.
