National Day Of Prayer: Afghanistan Edition

I’m sorry this is late in the day, but I haven’t been feeling well most of the day.

Until They All Come Home

Currently, our troops in Afghanistan are face a raising threat in road-side bombs:

(Reuters) – The threat from roadside bombs in Afghanistan is rising, (General George Casey) said on Thursday, underscoring concern about what has become the biggest killer of NATO troops in the war.

(snip)

A Pentagon report to Congress released last week confirmed that IEDs continue to cause the most military casualties in Afghanistan and are central to the Taliban’s strategy.

Resently, the conflict in Afghanistan has become personal for me. My girlfriend, who is in the US Army, shipped out over there at the end of last month. My thoughts are always with her and the rest of the troops who are currently over there these days. If I could, I would go over there so one of them could come home.

So if you see this, please say just one more prayer for her and the troops over there. They are fighting the Taliban there, so we don’t have to fight them here.

can be used as a marker of health and divine protection.
I pray that all of our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, and Marines return home carrying their own luggage. ALL OF IT. It simply means that their time is served, and that they bring home with them all that they took, and hopefully a few legal souveniers.
For it to be any other way….
May the Lord watch and keep her, but not take an early liking ther her, and may Uncle Sam employ her to the best of her abilities.
