I, Blogger – Thoughts On Post-Florida Primary

So, everyone and their brother on the right side of the blogosphere back Rick Scott… Except me. I also backed Jason Sager (The Conservative) over Richard Nugent (The Big Government Republican), in Florida’s Fifth US District.

However I have no regrets. None whatsoever.

The Bright Side

On the bright side, Marco “Rubio got almost as many primary votes as the entire GOP primary slate did in 2004 (last competitive primary on both sides), and the GOP increased their 2004 totals by 7%. Democrats were down 21% from 2004.” – Moe Lane

Also, Pam Bondi (CAN-R-FL-AG) won! We now have just one voice, Daniel Webster (CAN-R-FL-08), facing Alan Grayson. And Steve Southerland (CAN-R-FL-02) facing off against Democratic incumbent Allen Boyd.

Also, some of mine local favorites won. Let’s be thankful for small favors.

Florida’s Fifth Congressional District

I backed the Conservative Jason Sager over the Big Government Republican Richard Nugent. I have no regrets over that choice. I’d do it again.

However given the choice of Dick* Nugent or Jimbo Piccillo**, I will vote for Nugent.

But don’t get me wrong, I am going to be Nugent’s newest shadow. For every vote he takes part in, committee or on the House floor, I will count and judge. For every speech he makes, I will be there listening. If he even forgets to dot the “I” or cross the “T” in his name, I will be there to rip him a new one!

Florida Governor

And that goes ultra double for Rick Scott!! We messed up epicly by not holding Charlie Crist accountable from day one. So I’m going to hold Scott accountable starting from Day T-Minus 131***! He sneezes and I don’t like the way he blows his nose, I will be all over him!

I don’t know if I will even vote for Rick Scott. However I will not support Alex Sink in any way.

BigGator5 Is Not For Sale

So there you go. If you guys hate me for supporting McCollum, I really don’t care. Like Rush Limbaugh, I do not jump on the bandwagon. I am not a trend setter. And I call it like I see it.

I will continue to do so in the future. If I agree with you, then we have an accord. If I don’t agree with you, then I will have a darn good reason for it and will explain my stance.

Let’s now look to the future. For this is just the beginning. We have an Obama Administration to stop dead in it’s tracks. In the immortal words of Captain John Paul Jones: “I have not yet begun to fight!”

Are you with me?

*Short for Richard.

**More of him, tomorrow.

***If he wins the general election, it is (from my count) 131 days until he is sworn into office.

I live in FL-2, so I can assure you that I will be doing my part to help out all the GOP candidates in my district, not the least of which being Steve Southerland. I voted for McCollum myself, but Scott is now my guy, so he’ll have my full support the whole way through. This is about the entire state of Florida rather than just one individual, thus we must all unify to elect as many conservative candidates as possible.

Plus, how in the world can I deny a request of someone with “gator” in their name?

So, you know, there’s going to be stuff to be positive about, and not just anti-negative.

    • BigGator5

      Yeah, I know.

But Florida’s Fifth shouldn’t have been lost. We had a chance to replace a Big Government Republican with a real Conservative. Instead, we traded one RINO for another. Why did no one pick up on this race Moe? Why did we stop Dede Scozzafava but let Richard Nugent walk right on though?

……and that Brady guy was without question some sort of ‘distraction’ (read that as a plant) to sap money out of Col. West’s campaign.

And in keeping with true Democrat tradition, the attack adverts against Col. West from that p.o.s. Wexler started with the 9:45pm local ad inserts last night on cable stations.

This is going to get ugly – at best.

The Col. is one of the finest people I know and it’s an honor to say that I do indeed know the gentleman.

      Honor.

      Something Wexler cannot fathom.

Watch and learn how it’s done……..

Rich is pro-life, wants to end and defund Obamacare, extend the Bush tax cuts and be every measure a true conservative. You’re saying otherwise doesn’t make Sager less of phoney, less of panderer, or less of someone who talks out of both sides of his mouth.

Sorry. You’re blogging skills are about as good as your prognosticating. Maybe you should turn of the computer and get some exercise. Then you would be just dumb gator as opposed to dumb and fat gator.

*fat as a legitimate synonym for big
** as for someone who has no knowledge and gets everything wrong.

Clearly I should have done an excision a while back. I’m trying to be a little more flexible about people yelling at each other but this was turning into a stalking exercise.

He scares me. Bought the election, came from coruption, reminds me of Bill Clinton accusing others of the things he’s done. That was a scary choice. I hope he is for real and not another Charlie Crist.

      Deal with it.

Daniel Webster is a good guy with a great name.

SUPPORT HIM and dump that jerk Grayson!

    Strange finish in Fla 24th.

You have a great site, I enjoy the discussions hear, I will hold my nose and vote for Scott, but there is something special going on in this country right now. The whole tea party movement has grown first out of the frustration that people feel from the leftists and socialists who are destroying our country and second from the disgust that republicans have for those in their party who have abandoned conservative principles. We will purge both the socialists and the RINO’s. I’m sorry but Scott has much to prove. I will hold him to the standards he himself has demanded.

Talk is easy. Living up to the hype is the real job. By the way, McCullom ran a terrible campaign. Another discussion.
