Admiral Yamamoto understood America. He must have imagine what happen in the movie Red Dawn if they had pushed an invasion into the United States. When “it” hits the fan, we will all become 11 Bravos and you better have your rifle or hand gun by your side.

Florida’s SB 238 – Open Carry

From a reader of mine, Florida State Senator Greg Evers, R-Crestview, has put forth Florida Senate Bill 234 that will allow open carry here in Florida. Basicly what this does, is that if you are in compliance with the terms of a concealed carry license, you may carry a firearm openly.

Again, you must have a concealed carry license. So you will have to give your fingerprints and you still can’t take it to a school. If we lived ok with open carry before, we can do it again.

A One-Way Debate For The MFM

TALLAHASSEE (CBS4) – The mass shooting in Arizona earlier this month in which six people were killed and U.S. Representative Gabrielle Giffords was critically wounded has sparked a nationwide debate on whether guns laws should be tightened, especially when it comes to automatic weapons.

For the Left-Wing Media (MFM), the debate is always how gun laws should be tightened. To use the Arizona Shootings as a backdrop for that debate is distasteful.

Why can’t we debate loosening gun laws? It would seem to me that allowing only the criminals have guns is dumb and silly. I say let the law-abiding citizen have his/her gun and let them carry openly.

The CBS article also notes that if this thing passes, “openly wearing firearms legal in Florida for the first time in decades.” My first reaction would be, what was crime like a couple decades ago? Was there more crime with guns or not? Did we kill each other off in those years before open carry was made illegal?

Tom Brokaw Is An Idiot

Clearly, this goes without saying. However resently he was on Morning Joe and said the following:

“In Arizona they have a wide open system. I would be nervous about going into a bar or restaurant in Arizona on a Saturday night where people can carry concealed without permits.”

Tom Brokaw has watched one too many Westerns. Hollywood shows us that people walked into bars, with guns in holsters, drink and then shoot-up people. In reality, saloons in the wild west would take your gun and holsters before you started drinking. Most, if not all, would not give you back your guns until the next day when you were sober.

OpenCarry.org is on the front line trying to also get open carry in the seven states that don’t have open carry. The other 43 states have open carry in some fashoin or another. I was shocked to discover that Texas does NOT have open carry.

Final Thoughts

Admiral Yamamoto knew us and he feared invading the United States. He didn’t fear the military (which at that time was admittedly in a sorry state), but Yamamoto instead feared that every citizen on the ground had a gun.

While we moan and groan about Obama taking us further down a socialist path, we have slowed that down with an election and we can reversed it with an election in 2012. The vote is right now the most powerful thing we have on our side. Only when elections become meaningless, not what our government does, should we take arms against our government. It should be an act of last resort.

We must also be able to protect ourselves against criminals. Even though we now have a professional police force, they cannot be at all places at all times. The law-abiding citizen needs the tools, like the Castle Doctrine and Stand Your Ground, in order to make the split-second choice to protect themselves and others.

Guns kill people like pens write bad checks, but I don’t hear anyone going around wanting to ban pens. Computers don’t hack other computers and we don’t blame cars if they get into crashes*. To say otherwise is to try to take personal responsibility out of the picture. Even though the UK has banned guns, they still find ways to kill each other over there.

I support open carry in Florida. Forty-three states have open carry and they haven’t devolved into warfare on the streets, so I don’t see the harm in doing this in Florida.
