The Cain Project: Opportunity To Volunteer For Herman Cain

Are you a Herman Cain supporter and are willing to help him win the early Florida Primary? Then you have come to the right blog post!

Patricia Sullivan, on her own with the help of her campaign-for-congress-turn-grassroots-group The Patriot Army, has choosen to lunch a boots-on-the-ground precinct walking effort here in Central Florida.

Opportunity

If given the opportunity, would you put your time and energy in helping Herman Cain win Florida?

What would happen if Herman Cain won the Florida GOP Primary on January 31st?

Could he sweep the Nation with that kind of momentum?

We’ve seen what happened after he won Florida’s Presidency 5 straw poll. He surged. Enthusiasm is contagious.

What are you willing to do to get out the vote for Herman Cain? Is it worth three full days of walking door to door with friends and a day of sign waving? If you can commit your time and energy, then you need to be part of the Cain Project. Even if you can’t walk, we will need drivers, navigators, volunteers to serve meals and more.

The Cain Project is an intense volunteer event taking place January 26-31 in Central Florida. We’re inviting volunteers from across Florida and the Southeast to come and help us win Florida.

I know I would and I have. I was at the kick-off event a little over two weeks ago and boy do they have their stuff together! They even made a video:

The Cain Project

How are they going to get out the vote? They explain here and you can sign-up as well:

The Cain Project is an intense volunteer event taking place January 26-31 in Central Florida.

Why a fee to volunteer?

The registration fee covers the cost of two t-shirts, six dinners and precinct walking materials.

The agenda is as follows:
Thursday … 4pm-8pm Registration, Education, Team Assignments and Dinner
Friday … 9am-8pm Precinct Walking, Rendezvous and Dinner
Saturday … 9am-8pm: Precinct Walking, Rendezvous and Dinner
Sunday: … Day of Rest. 10am Worship Opportunity 5pm Dinner
Monday: … 9am-8pm: Precinct Walking, Rendezvous and Dinner
Tuesday: … 7am-11pm: Sign Waving at Polls, Dinner and Watch Party! WhooHoo!

They are going to be hitting Orange, Seminole, and (South) Lake Counties in their precinct walking.

I precinct walked for Patricia Sullivan in the 2010 election and I have to say that they know their stuff. They were highly organized, had lots of precinct walking materials (maps and such), and focused. I say it is worth the $20 to get the t-shirts and meals, alone.

If you got some vacation time saved up, now’s the time to use it. You can join us for one day or all six days.

Now I am just a volunteer like everyone else. I am not an event organizer. However I’d like to get the word out to those who would like to make a difference. Herman Cain doesn’t need a large campaign staff when he has people like us willing to help in any way we can. I am answering the call, will you?

Then I became a Cain defender. Then I realized that if you are constantly looking for reasons and justifications for defending someone, you can lose sight of whether or not they ought to be defended.

Note to Perry defenders: I’m speaking to you too.

I’m still a Cain supporter. What is there to defend?

      • iidvbii

How about Cain’s total and irrefutable lack of experience, preparation and judgement. From his failed handling of his harassment allegations, complete absence of anything resembling a coherent foreign policy and an economic plan that’s a liberals “best case scenario” tax policy (A national sales tax and VAT? Really???) . Cain is no longer credible as a conservative.

Your question frankly makes me question the prudence of allowing you to continue as a free member of society.

“Who’s more foolish? The fool or the fool who follows him?” Obi we have our answer.

the definition being used to slam 9-9-9 despite its drastically lower growth-inducing rates, we have a VAT NOW! There are more embedded taxes via the individual and corp income taxes, BY FAR, than would be embedded by 9-9-9.

There is no magic to the re-characterization of a thing as VAT. What matters is how much money is involved.

          • iidvbii

GC I am gonna let this one go though for the record I disagree with both the logic you present and the justification trajectory.

How about Cain’s comments that we can’t attack Iran because they have mountains? Newsflash to Cain: We have attacked plenty of countries with mountains before.

        • nathanalbright

…the Zargos mountains make attacks harder, but not impossible, especially if (as he believes) there are third parties in the land that would wish to work with us for a freer Iran.

    • papabear

Other Republican candidates … not so much.

Cain vs the Romneyfish (RINO at best)? I don’t know.

      • http://www.itsaboutliberty.com IronDioPriest

But in the meantime, I think we can do better.

  • Tbone

after seeing how totally lost he was when basically he was asked his opinion on Libya?

How can you support him when he doesn’t even know if there are federal employee unions?

How do you support a guy who is so woefully unprepared for the office?

Why would you support a guy who wouldn’t stand a chance in hell of beating Obama?

    • http://www.examiner.com/x-1597-Charlotte-Law--Politics-Examiner Mike gamecock DeVine

Number one being that he has the boldest plan fit for the hard task and dire straits we are in economically.

Don’t know if he knew the camera was on or thought they would edit out normal behavior, like pausing before speaking…something I think a lot of us have learned is a wise course even here at RS…but like Rush observed, as did a certain rooster, after the pauses, his dialogue shows that he knew all the convoluted issues on Libya quite well.

FTR, I stopped leaning to Cain due to his position on Iran at the recent debate in my hometown and at my undergrad alma mater:

      http://www.redstate.com/gamecock/2011/11/14/2337/

I now lean to no one…thinking….probably should save Newt for the penultimate lean (May have to settle for Mitt…God help us), since why would one leave a KNOWN Newt?

I hope Perry can make a comeback and win this thing.

RUSH: Now, he said that twice. He said, “Well, I’m for collective bargaining as long as it’s not collective hijacking, and as long as it doesn’t create an undue burden on the state.” Again, the attempt here is to make it sound as though he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. But on Libya, when you listen to the whole interview, the whole question and answer, he ended up getting Libya right. His biggest mistake was admitting he was having a hard time focusing. He shouldn’t have said that in front of the enemy, the enemy being the editorial board, but he said I’m having a hard time focusing here.

Federal workers do have collective bargaining. Some of them do. Some federal workers do have collective bargaining. It’s not the same as in some of the states. For example, the air traffic controllers do have collective bargaining over their wages, and some federal workers only have collective bargaining rights over work conditions. Some of them have collective bargaining rights over other aspects, but not wages. It’s all over the ballpark. It is a mistake to say that federal workers, as the editorial board member here said, don’t have collective bargaining rights; some of them do.

In any event, substantively Cain was right. Substantively Cain got it right on collective bargaining for federal unionized workers, and the editors got it wrong. And even the Journal Sentinel article that accompanies the video eventually admitted that Cain got it right in his answer and their editors had it wrong. But no matter, they are attempting to portray via the video here a slow, ignorant, uninformed, unsure of himself candidate who really is just out classed and is just totally out of his league. And the video, under that impression, under those auspices, has gone viral, and that’s the thought accompanying it with everybody who sends it out.

You haven’t said anything new or different since September. All anti-Cain, all the time.

Why should any Cain supporter listen to anything you have to say? Or anyone else for that matter?

      • Tbone

        of course.

As to “How can you keep saying the same things with different words?”

Simple, I have a really big vocabulary.

just replace the question asked with “Herman, we have a complaint from your secretary, Libya, that you pinched her butt, did you?”

Then just enjoy the body language.

(This is a general comment, so as to not single any one commenter out.)

Please do not try to discourage grassroots activist measures. One of the goals of the site is to get more people out of their seats and into the habit of actively working to get their favored candidates elected and their favored policies enacted. One of the major goals, in fact. We get a little prickly when people forget that.

Shorter Moe Lane: First, do no harm.

directed New Deal spending to swing states more so than the truly needy in, eg The South!

    • Common_Cents

This over the top candidate bashing is getting ridiculous. It is doing more harm than good.

Especially in the thread like this one that really isn’t focusing on candidate policy/viability debate. Even then, it should be done in a respectful manner.

Alinsky cheap swipe tactics should be aimed at the DEMS, not our own.

Are you people so insecure about your own candidate that you have to lash out at every other candidate in a disrespectful manner?

Way to carry the water for the real enemy, obama, the left, the media, etc…. Congratulations.

Does anyone realize the media has framed the entire discussion and many here at RS have fallen hook, line, and sinker for it? The left wing media has gotten many of us at RS to judge our own candidates against PERFECTION, while we should be judged against the DISASTROUS Golfer in Chief. We are falling for the circular firing squad trap by the lame stream media.

Does anyone realize Cain could be hugely important not necessarily as President, but as, finally, one guy who could lead many African Americans(I hate that term, we are all Americans) out of the slavery of the victim mentality brainwashing Democrats and introduce them to the benefits of conservatism?

I’m not even a Cain supporter (I’ve given money to Perry and Gingrich so far)

Look at all the gaffes Obama has made? But they do not fit the media narrative. But God forbid a Perry brain fart or a Cain pause and they should be banished? If the media gave the same treatment to Obama, he’d never gotten out of Illinois.

My point? We don’t need to pile on our side.

      • Bill S

opposition between candidates of the same party. There is no avoiding going after one another. The issue comes when candi-bots refuse to acknowledge their own candidate’s shortcomings.

If someone who’s a Cain supporter wants to sign on to what BG5 has posted here, more power to them. But “piling on our side” is what happens in primary season, and no one is going to stop it.

        • Common_Cents

Between respectful opposition and discussion of policy differences/candidate viability

          and

petty relentless name calling attacks on candidates and their supporters. I would like to know how this is fruitful and moves the needle?

This goes for ALL candidates and supporters.

RS has gotten much more petty and childish lately. We don’t need to stoop to those levels here IMHO.

Let’s not do Obama’s, Dems, and lame stream media’s bidding is all I am saying.

          • Bill S

but as long as those who support candidates are flawed human beings, you’re going to have people who act stupid involved in these arguments. The alternative would be for us to shut down the discussion threads, as that’s the only way to stop the behavior you are objecting to…

          • Finrod

Personally, I’ve always lived by the motto that stupidity should be painful, and perhaps if more stupid people had someone with a name in color telling them they were stupid, maybe they’d back off a bit.

Now is the time to remember that we are all on the same team and we will need to fully unite after the primaries in order to evict the O from the White House.

It is not always easy to do because people are so different and use various methods and reasoning to select one candidate over another. But, there is no reason to show disrespect to those who have chosen someone other than your favorite. The art of persuasion includes not offending the one whose mind you are trying to change.

    • iidvbii

Wasn’t trying to discourage activities…. Or folks getting involved with campaigns…..

In all fairness though the guy did ask “What is there to defend?”…

Cain would support Perry as GOP nominee, ‘but it won’t be 100 percent’

“Now if [the nominee is] one of those other candidates up there, I am going to support them 100 percent. If Governor Perry gets the nomination, I will still support him, but it won?t be 100 percent,” Cain said on Hewitt’s show.

  • kipling

I do not support Cain but I recommended the diary because conservative grassroots activism should be encouraged.

Cain supporters should get active and stay active.

That way, when Perry wins the nomination, they can transition into his campaign. : )

have you got anything running in the Chattanooga area? that’s probably where you’ll get a lot of TN folks. I live in So-Cen TN and Mid Florida is a bit much for me. I stick to N-Al and Mid-Tn doors and calls, otherwise would love to help you guys.

Ok, and the alligator in your clip did not ease my mind. What can I say, some girls don’t like spiders, I’m one of those not fond of alligators. I think its their feet that throw me off. Or their noses.

    • http://twitter.com/biggator5 BigGator5

Good for you. Nothing says you can’t organized a get out the vote effort there in Chattanooga, TN as well. Go out and get them votes!

The idea with this effort, is that Florida is now (whether we like it or not) an early primary state and winner-take-all. We are trying to up the turn-out of Cain supporters or people on the fence. We love the 999Plan and want to spead the word of it.

As for my nick, I have a saying: “There are worse things out there, than reptiles.”

      Like big government progressives. ;)
