To #TeamLetItBurn: Our Work Is Not Finish

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  January 1st at 09:10 AM  |

First, a little primer on Let It Burn: [L]et us lay out some key principles of Let It Burn: 1- America isn’t a conservative country anymore and hasn’t been for a while. The fact is, a conservative country doesn’t “accidentally” elect Barack Obama twice. It doesn’t continue to send Democrats to the Senate who voted for ObamaCare and force the GOP to run as the | Read More »

This is what happens when you lack a spine. When I first saw this article, I was outraged. Then I actually read said article:

    Who’s Absorbing Who?

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  October 27th at 10:00 AM  |

I would like to take this time to blast Brendan Steinhauser of Freedomworks for his comments resently: “I would just say that we are busy taking over the GOP,” said Brendan Steinhauser, director of federal and state campaigns for the national tea party network Freedomworks.

Who Here Regrets Endorsing Rick Scott?

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  July 3rd at 09:00 AM  |

NOT ME, I DIDN’T SUPPORT HIM!!! [N]o one has yet been able to answer WHY we should choose Rick Scott over Bill McCollum. Just because Rick Scott has never been in elected office, does not make him more of a good guy over McCollum. I mean, just look at Jesse Ventura’s tenure as Governor of Minnesota. The people hated him when he left office and | Read More »

(LIVEBLOGGING) No Joke: House GOP To Vote On “Deem And Pass” Budget

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  April 1st at 01:05 PM  |

Holy Hell!! The GOP has brought up HR 1 with a little alteration: If the Senate doesn’t pass this, it becomes law anyway. Turn it to C-SPAN to check out the debate. In other words: A Deem And Pass Budget I’m conflicted, I don’t know whether to support this or not right now. However this is bold move to be sure.

    Florida Redistricting (Part Two)

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  March 30th at 10:00 AM  |

An important update on Florida’s Redistricting: Republican leaders in the Florida Legislature on Tuesday asked the federal government to sign off on a pair of voter-approved constitutional amendments requiring lawmakers to draw nonpartisan political districts. The move comes three months after Gov. Rick Scott drew partisan criticism – and was quickly sued – for quietly withdrawing the application submitted by former Gov. Charlie Crist.

Short Chat With Rep. Richard Nugent (R-FL-05)

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  March 25th at 10:00 AM  |

Promoted from diaries. – Moe Lane Full disclosure. I did not support Richard Nugent during the primary of 2010. I spoke out against him and supported Jason Sager. However he won. The voters spoke. Half-way between the primary and general election, we got to meet face-to-face and we buried the hachet like two adult men (or at least I did). I knew he was going | Read More »

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  March 19th at 10:00 AM  |

The law does not so much reform tenure, it just ends tenure: Florida lawmakers gave final legislative approval Wednesday to a bill aimed at replacing teacher tenure with a merit-based system, in the latest clash between a U.S. state government and public employee unions.

((UPDATE)) Marco Rubio: No More Short-Term Budget Fixes

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  March 15th at 11:00 AM  |

((UPDATE: 3/17/2011 14:55)) Watching the vote and Senator Rubio does indeed walk the walk, votes “NO” on this three-week short term continuing resolution. Good for him. It still might pass, but at least he took a stand. I knew there was a reason I liked him:

Obama Administration: What Do You Mean By Unconstitutional?

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  February 28th at 10:00 AM  |

It would seem that the Obama Administration is taking a page out of Bill Clinton’s playbook when he wanted to play existential semantics with tense. “It depends on what the meaning of the words ‘is’ is.” –Bill Clinton Now the Obama Administration is also playing existential semantics with U.S. District Judge Roger Vinson’s unconstitutional ruling on ObamaCare:

Rep. Dennis Ross (R-FL-12): Hey, Let’s Do Zero-Based Budgeting

    By: BigGator5 (Diary)  |  February 26th at 02:00 PM  |

I knew there was a reason I liked Representative Dennis Ross (R-FL-12): Before I was honored by you, my fellow citizens, to serve in Congress, I spent the past 20 years owning and operating a small law firm in Lakeland. I met a payroll, provided health insurance and knew that every dollar of waste was a dollar too much.
