BOHICA. It means: “Bend Over Here It Comes Again” I have no idea what it means in this context, I just always wanted to say it here on RedState.
(Via Hot Air) Ops, looks like that safe seat in Florida isn’t so safe after-all:
This will be a YouTube heavy post, as this was meant for those of you who couldn’t make it. Yesterday, Florida Governor Rick Scott choose to unroll his budget in my backyard. It took place during a Tea Party* rally in Eustis, where Rick Scott got a warm welcome (as you will see). I had to go to another meeting about the local school board | Read More »
Random Roundup is going to my series of articles where there is a bunch of stuff I want to talk about, but don’t feel they belong in separate articles because of length. Stuff I will be talking about: Super Super Sunday, U.S. President Andrew Jackson and Barack Obama’s nonacquiescence, the upcoming Cambodian-Thai War, and a new Second Amendment bill introduce in the state of Florida.
Gov. Rick Scott is going to have to make a choice very soon: Does he want to be a Chris Christie or Arnold Schwarzenegger*? In other words, does he want to be known as a great governor or a mediocre governor? This, of course, is not really a choice. Hell, even Barack Obama said he rather be a great one-termer than a mediocre two-termer**.
So sure ObamaCare is going to be ruled unconstitutional by the Supreme Court or repealed, Governor Rick Scott isn’t waiting to pull the plug on it later: Gov. Rick Scott is stopping Florida from making preparations to implement the federal health care law. Scott makes that decision following the ruling from a federal judge in Pensacola that says the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act | Read More »
I’ve been on the look-out for the website that will kick off Florida’s Redistricting efforts. About once a week, I would do a search for Florida Redistricting and kept getting the old 2002 website. The past site, was to say the least, not exciting. Then, being bored because of the Pro-Bowl blowout, I struck gold: Florida Redistricting
In a late afternoon news dump, Governor Rick Scott thought it was time Enterprise Florida president John Adams needed to go: Gov. Rick Scott has quietly fired Enterprise Florida president John Adams, saying he wants a new leader to help promote his job-creation and economic development agenda.
Representative Sandy Adams (FL-24) sends out a response to President Barack Obama’s State Of The Union via email. I would first like to take this time to point out that Sandy Adams’ email not once refer to her as a Congresswoman. I like that a lot. When they start refering to themselves as a Congressman or Congresswoman, then they stop being our Representative. I see | Read More »
(Via The Shark Tank) And frankly, he makes a lot of sense (video and transcript below the fold):
“You cannot invade the mainland United States. There would be a rifle (gun) behind every blade of grass.” -Admiral Yamamoto (Japanese Navy) Admiral Yamamoto understood America. He must have imagine what happen in the movie Red Dawn if they had pushed an invasion into the United States. Wait, let me take this in… Senator Marco Rubio… Senator Marco Rubio… Senator Marco Rubio… Senator Marco Rubio… Senator Marco Rubio. Ok, I’m done.
Castle Doctrine basicly says that you may use up to deadly force to defend your residence (or, in some states, any place legally occupied, such as one’s car or place of work) and/or any other innocent persons legally inside it, from violent attack or illegal trespass. Stand Your Ground Laws are sometimes coupled with the Castle Doctrine to relieve the resident’s occupants (or, in some | Read More »
Mike Haridopolos is the current President of the Florida Senate and a Republican. There are wild rumors that he is trying to postion himself for a run for US Senate. Yeah, no.
Good news, property rights advocates*! It would seem that Florida is about to become a little bit more free! Yesterday, I was forwarded an email from a reader who thinks everyone in Florida should know about these proposed revisions to Florida Statutes Chapter 162. I could not agree more:
Round-up on Florida’s Newest Governor:
The 112th Congressional Freshmen Class is full of interesting characters. Some of them come right from Florida: Marco Rubio, Allen West, Richard Nugent, and (yes) Sandy Adams.
(Via Florida Pundit) Governor-Elect Rick Scott says the right things, but one has to wonder if he means it:
