Introducing Debbie Wasserman-Schulz

I blog at another site which is dominated by liberal commenters.  I wrote this for their “entertainment” and thought I’d share here too…

I was as happy as anyone on election night to see Nancy Pelosi’s face fall as a result of being shellacked, despite the number of times it had been lifted.  But with that happiness was a slight amount of sadness.  Surely, I thought, after such a crushing defeat, the Democrats would eat their own and not let her anywhere near a leadership position again.  And really, Harry Reid is not funny.  Obama can sometimes be funny, but even that is decreasing.  So, I was ecstatic when Pelosi muscled her way into being Minority Leader.  I expected the comedy to continue and figured that the specter (not to be confused with “Benedict Arlen” Specter, the party identity challenged twice party flipper and EX Senator from Pennsylvania who couldn’t even win a primary in his “new” and yet also former party) of Pelosi possibly being Speaker again would keep Republicans in line.  What have we gotten?  Very little comedy from Pelosi.  Seriously, Obama can’t do it all and Reid is useless in that area!

Chucky Schumer can sometimes help out, but even he is not good enough.  Chucky’s minime, Kirsten Gillibrand, now in version 4.0 (1.0 was when she worked for Andrew Cuomo’s HUD in the 1990s which contributed to the housing crisis years later, 2.0 was as a Congresswoman who at least lowered herself to mix with her subjects, 3.0 was as a pure rubber stamp for Chucky, and 4.0 is the new and more shrill Kirsten Gillibrand trying to establish herself to the left of Chucky) is still basically in “beta testing mode.”  A full release of the latest version of Kirsten Gillibrand is expected in Spring or Summer, 2012, ahead of some sort of special event in November of that year.  But in the meantime, much focus group testing and polling is necessary to perfect this version.

So, what can conservative bloggers and political satire writers do?  At last, Obama to the rescue!  He picked Debbie Wasserman-Schulz to head the Democrat National Committee!  Oh, happy days are here again!  Thank you, Barack, for wisely reading your teleprompter (well, come on, three paragraphs in and I haven’t mentioned such an important electronic device yet????) so diligently!  She easily defeats Kirsten Gillibrand 4.0 when it comes to shrill, and she is far to the left of her.  On the other hand, is Wasserman-Schulz, with that incredibly annoying voice, really shrill, or something else?  I know she could easily get a part in any movie about a possessed character.  And heck, if you don’t like my blog, get a load of what One News Now has to say.  Hope you like their headline!

The left was too preoccupied to make a budget

Originally posted on Liberty Ink Journal

Once upon a time, Nancy. Harry, and Barry almost completely controlled the government (except for that other branch which Barry ridiculed in his State of the Union speech).  They could crack the whip and get anything they wanted.  The bills didn’t even need to be read to get passed into law.  They passed the bills to see what was inside, sort of like a grab bag party.  Pelosi would schedule it, a vote would be held, a majority of Pelosi’s drones would vote for it, then Reid and all of his drones would vote for it, and the drone on Pennsylvania Avenue would rubber stamp it at the direction of his teleprompter.  Heck, if they wanted to spend trillions to put government buildings on Pluto (even after losing planetary status, no less), it would have passed and their supporters would have said it was a “necessity.”  Barry would have even had an opportunity to fly all over the country, dumping untold amounts of carbon into the environment at a tremendous cost to the taxpayer, in order to proclaim the “need” for such a boondoggle.

And indeed, they exercised that power.  Pelosi swung that big gavel and smiled like the cat that swallowed the canary.  They rammed through the FAILED so-called “stimulus” which will enslave our great great great grandchildren (the ones not aborted) with debt for leftist whims of today, the second so-called “stimulus” aka gift to big union fatcats and thugs with a “thank you note” in the form of propaganda due in the 2012 election season, so-called “financial regulation,” and the centerpiece of the Obama hoax and chains era, ObamaCare.

The left managed to ram through so many whims.  But while Pelosi had fun playing with the gavel and banging it around, they forgot about one teeny, tiny, little responsibility: setting a budget.  While we hear about all the incompetence of the old Republican Congress, or with Bush, never did they forget to have a budget. (And we know the Democrat leaning mainstream media would have shouted this from the rooftops if they had forgotten….particularly if it was around election time!)  But, well, you know, why bother with that mundane stuff when they could get into the more important things of trying to take control of our lives with multithousand page boondoggles?  And really, with the skyrocketing costs of such measures, how could they possibly budget for them?  They wouldn’t want any actual limitations in their power grab, you know.

So, the leftist controlled Congress kept passing “continuing resolutions.”  This offered flexibility in how they could enslave future generations.  They’d set a limit, Obama’s appetite for government waste would grow larger, and they’d just be able to continue to raise that limit.  Actually, wouldn’t it have just been simpler to put through legislation saying Obama could just spend whatever his little heart desires (as directed by the TOTUS, of course), with no limits?  It saves time from dealing with these pesky mundane things like having to worry about how much money is being spent.  It’s not their money, anyway, so why should they care?  Besides, this would give them more time to find more ways to take control over their subjects, um, I mean, the American people.

Anyway, a few months back, somehow Nancy got shellacked (hat tip to Obama’s teleprompter for that word) and the big gavel was taken away from her.  The new guy who gets to hold the gavel recently discovered that human beings have this thing called a backbone.  So, as he’s learning to make use of his, the left is in shock that we can’t just continue the spending spree.  People like Chucky Schumer are announcing that we must bandy about the word “extreme” (at least, when he’s not busy cursing flight attendants and such or forgetting about what’s in the Constitution).

Chicken little is running around proclaiming that the sky is falling.  The Democrats dropped the ball on this when they had all the power.  They could have just set a budget giving Obama wide latitude in wasting whatever money he wanted (which, he would have used up in a matter of two months maximum).  They should have interrupted their fun with all the big power grabs and just crafted a budget.  I know they like multithousand page bills which nobody reads along with forcing enough of their members to just vote for it and then have it rubber stamped into law.  Really, they could have done all of that with the budget too.  Just draw it up and slip it between all the “fun” stuff.  They could have just gotten it done.

But since they didn’t bother, and now this new guy is trying out his backbone, they’re screaming and blaming him because he won’t continue to waste money at the unsustainably high levels to which the left is accustomed.  They feel the gravy train will last forever, and why should they care if future generations are stuck with the bill for their whims?  We hear such dire stories about a government shutdown —- which is caused by the utterly irresponsible behavior of the party in power in the 111th Congress.  Maybe this is a sign that the government should not be involved in things that exceed its Constitutional mandate.  If the government would stop trying to have a monopoly over things which it should not even be doing in the first place, then they wouldn’t be in danger of shutting down over a budget battle due to certain so-called “leaders” failing to bother with a budget…

Why is the left obsessed with Palin and Bachmann?

I blog for another site that is dominated by leftist commenters who will rarely exhibit the ability to listen to reason in my view.  I like to give them things to chew on that will keep them busy and “entertain” them.  I thought I’d share it here…

Okay, until now, I have NEVER written a blog with either Palin’s or Bachmann’s name in the title.  At most, I’ve posted one blog with a passing mention of Bachmann in the main blog note, but focused on something else (Chucky, the Senator that needs a teleprompter, to be exact).  But now, donkeys are flying (yes, pun intended there) and I’m putting a spotlight on them (Palin and Bachmann, not the donkeys).  And I’m giving the left a twofer by talking about both of them.  (Oh and uh, cue all the kneejerk vile statements about Palin and Bachmann now that I’ve mentioned their names.  Hey, just to get it all out of your system: George W. Bush.  Better yet, figure out how to blame Bush for Palin and Bachmann.)

So, anyway, I’ve often thought of the left as much like the fictional Borg on Star Trek.  I’ve noticed an increase in hysteria about Palin and Bachmann around here and elsewhere.  And of course, the campaign machinery of Mr. “Hope and Change” just announced he is running again in 2012.  It’s almost like it’s on cue.  The left suddenly start going on and on about Palin and Bachmann right before a presidential incumbent with a “D” after his name announces that he wants to win a second popularity contest.  Let’s face it, if the Democrats ran the teleprompter itself (without the human mouthpiece), the left would be mesmerized by it, cheer for it, and vote for it.

But really, if we are to listen to the left’s rhetoric about either of these women who dare to disagree with the Democrats’ mandatory template for the views they expect and insist on women having, neither of them have any chance of winning.  The left routinely lists a plethora of insults for these two primarily because they do not tow the Democrat party line.  If we are to take the left seriously (note: today is not April 1st) and assume all these insults are true, then these two simply could not be elected to anything, never mind win a presidential election.

We know the left wants a Democrat in office.  But there are other potential Republican candidates such as Romney, Huckabee, Pawlenty (oh, sorry, it’s rude to fall asleep in the middle of writing a blog).  Yet the left does not even bother saying anything about these or a number of other candidates mentioned in the media.  Why waste time on the likes of Palin or Bachmann?  The left has said they cannot win, so rest confidently in that.  Smile.  Be happy.  Enjoy life.  No need to stress about something which, according to the left, will never happen.

Seriously, both Palin and Bachmann were promoted by the left.  Without the nastiness and vile messages the left posts about them, they would not be known.  In fact, while each do have their fans among conservatives, their stardom is created by the left, not the right.  The more the left attacks them in such vile and hateful ways, the more they promote them.  Afterall, if bitter clinging leftwingers, who cling to the failed policies of the past (hat tip to none other than Obama himself and the bitter clingers script on his teleprompter) are wasting so much energy putting them down, others are going to become interested in them.  Again, the left does not give any time to Romney, Huckabee, or Pawlenty.  (On a side note, that just seems so unfair.  Since leftwingers like to legislate fairness, can’t they come up with a big, multithousand page bill that nobody has time to read, requiring that all Republican office seekers be insulted equally by the left?  Can’t we just pass it to see what’s in it?)

Finally, when the left shows such attention to any given politician, that politician becomes a huge fundraiser.  Really, if the left wants to ruin the political careers of Palin and Bachmann, the best thing is to dismiss and ignore them.

Chucky Schumer and “foot in mouth disease”

Originally posted to Liberty Ink Journal

Chucky has an easy — and most importantly, GUARANTEED — job.  As of 2009, he fully became the Senior US Senator from New York.  Oh yes, he had that title since 2001, but let’s face it, it was in name only.  He was lost in Hillary’s shadow after she parachuted in from Arkansas by way of DC.  In 2009 she finally stopped pretending to represent New York (a mere intended stepping stone to the presidency) and moved over to the State Department.  Her political future has been utterly ruined by being part of the Obama Regime. But, she was replaced by someone who can stand in Chucky’s shadow and serve as his “extra vote” 95% of the time.  (On the rare occasions when Chucky’s rubber stamp wants to show “independence,” she gets into that very narrow place on the ideological spectrum —- to the left of him.)

Chucky is still learning the ropes of what it’s like to be a Senior Senator.  So, don’t blame him when his mouth, uh, gets the better of him.  Afterall, with all of the money Obama is wasting, the United States can evidently only afford ONE teleprompter — and that goes to the empty suit at the top.  (Hmm, maybe a non-government grant could be found to buy Chucky a teleprompter to keep him out of trouble?  I mean, this USUALLY works for Obama, so we’ve got some data to justify the feasibility.)  Anyway, Chucky hardly needs a teleprompter.  His constituents are in ultra leftist New York.  He just won by a landslide in 2010 so he doesn’t have to worry about another election until 2016.  But even so, he’s got that magic “D” after his name.  He’d win again no matter what.  A majority in New York would vote for a cartoon character if it had a “D” after its name.  (And considering how overhyped Obama was…)

So, anyway, after a couple of humorous paragraphs, let’s get to the main point of this post.  First, Chucky ran his foul mouth on a plane, rudely insulting a flight attendant because she asked an elitist such as him to abide by the rules.  These rules should only apply to the American commoners who are beneath him.  Then, on national television, he flubbed up the three branches of government.  But now he admits he  lets others do his thinking for him. Rather than have little snafus like this, can’t the Democrats buy him a teleprompter?  Look, as one who doesn’t exactly agree with the Democrats’ plans, far be it for me to give advice here to help them.  But really, Democrats at least ought to make sure the reporters aren’t on the line when they say stuff like that!  Just a word of advice here.

One of my favorite lines in the article is: “After apparently realizing his mistake, Schumer fell silent.”  Um, what?  Schumer fell silent?  That’s utterly amazing.  I’ve never heard of anything that could quiet Chucky!

Chucky and his big government buddies want to continue spending like there is no tomorrow.  Any attempt to put the brakes on runaway government waste is called “extreme” (though remember, if a conservative uses that word to describe what Chucky and his ilk do, it’s apparently “wrong”).  They have no concern about enslaving several generations into the future with debt.  As the article notes, the other Democrat Senators on the call marched to Chucky’s orders (like leftist zombies).

At some point, it’s going to be time to pay the piper.  We cannot continue to spend money and mortgage future generations for the unsaitiable appetites of the present generation.  We hear all about how the answer is merely to “tax the rich” while Obama hangs out with all the globalist corporate elite and hands out appointments to the likes of GE’s Jeffrey Immelt.  Ah, but Chucky has no need to concern himself with what will happen to future generations.  He gets elected in New York…..a state addicted to big government, despite having accidentally elected a Democrat governor who seems to “see the light” about runaway spending.  (Or, he at least realizes that if he cleans up New York, he would be formidable in any future presidential election.)  Basically, if Chucky is going to call the Republicans extreme for trying to clean up DC, he’s also calling Andrew Cuomo “extreme” for cleaning up the disgusting mess that is New York State.

But I digress.  Chucky is useful for something.  As one who is guaranteed reelection because he is an incumbent in a state that will vote for anything with a “D” after its name, he gives us a window into the elitist politician’s mindset.  Whether it is true contempt for working people like flight attendants, or lack of interest in knowing what is in the Constitution, or considering fiscal responsibility to be “extreme,” at least we have someone like Schumer to use as a barometer of where the elite are coming from.

Weiner Wants a Waiver for the Woefully Worthless ObamaCare

Originally posted to Liberty Ink Journal

Agree or disagree with her views, you must admit Michelle Malkin has a way with words.  And her column about the obnoxious and extreme liberal Anthony Weiner and his desire for an ObamaCare waiver is a good example.

First, Obama exempted his big union fatcats and their thugs who do things like damage public property funded by taxpayers in places like, oh, I don’t know, Madison, Wisconsin.  Then he started exempting the supposed enemies of the unions, selected big corporations.  Well, why not?  Like union fatcats, big CEOs such as GE’s Jeffrey Immelt are Obama’s buddies too.  (Shh, don’t tell the left.  They claim the Democrat Party is here to “protect” us from all those big corporate CEOs.  Heck, it’s not like the top elected official in the Democrat Party isn’t buddy buddy with them.)  Then Maine insurers get exemptions from certain provisions of this massive boondoggle.  Nevada and Kentucky line up behind Maine, along with a bunch of other states.

But now Anthony Weiner, ObamaCare champion, wants a waiver for his beloved New York City.  New York City is a heavy voting bloc for Democrats.  This would be the LAST place that should want or deserves to get any kind of waiver from ObamaCare.  They made their bed and all that.

Look, we heard impassioned speeches on the House floor about how wonderful this thing is, and villifying anyone (Republican politician or ordinary American) who dared speak against the Democrat will.  The speechifying finished with the now shellacked EX Speaker Nancy Pelosi saying “Vote my darlings, vote.”  The Democrats chose to ram this mess through on a party line vote without taking the time to hash it out and make sure the provisions were right for people.  It seems like a show of lack of confidence in their work to be handing out waivers like candy at a parade (and what would Michelle Obama, self-appointed czar of “healthy eating” while simultaneously being a fan of barbecue and ribs, think of that??).

The leftist leaning Media Matters tried to do damage control for the Democrats by claiming Weiner merely said the ability to grant waivers shows it’s “flexibility.”    Actually, it just proves further that this is indeed government control over our health care.  Bottom line is that it is an opportunity for the powerful to scratch the backs of their powerful.  What is the process for getting a waiver?  Who must one know to get a waiver?  How much campaign cash must be given to Democrat politicians to get a waiver? How can I get a waiver?  How can you get a waiver? Can’t we all just get waivers if we want them?  Should the law have any meaning or can various well connected groups get a “get out of jail free” card like in the game of Monopoly (Obama edition, of course)?  Do we get to collect $200 as we pass “Go” and have the government take it all away from us?  Oh wait, the system Obama is pushing on us is like all of us being perpetually stuck on Boardwalk with a government owned hotel on it.

The Democrats wanted a one size fits all “solution.”  THE LAW IS THE LAW.  There should be no exemptions, PERIOD.  If this inconveniences unions or causes big corporations to shed more employees, so be it.  This is what the Democrats wanted, this is what they wasted so much energy, time, and money cheerleading for, not to mention destroyed their political careers for in some cases, and they should deal with the consequences like responsible people.  (Wait, I’m talking about entrenched elitist politicians.  Responsibility doesn’t enter into the equation there.)  There should be NO backroom deals to cover up the disastrous effects of ObamaCare.  If jobs are lost or union workers have to pay more as a result of ObamaCare, well, that’s “change we can believe in,” just in time for Obama’s hopefully failing bid for a second term.

By the time this thing is done, it will look like virtual swiss cheese.  We’ve heard the “You might be a <insert something> if…” jokes.  Well, let’s hear everyone’s ideas for “You might get an ObamaCare waiver if…”  Oh and just to clear it up, no government funding for this.  All responses must be the work of the writer’s own mind.  No outsourcing of thinking to some government commission or committee (and heck, one probably already exists for this sort of thing), please…

But I digress.  On another note, couldn’t Weiner have wanted a waiver in Washington, West Virginia, Wisconsin, Wyoming, or better yet, in Walla Walla, Washington?  Certainly, conservative bloggers could have had even more fun with blog titles for that!

Unhappy Anniversary, ObamaCare

Guys are usually notorious when it comes to forgetting anniversaries.  Then, when they finally remember, whatever it is they do sometimes ends up not being good enough to cover their forgetfulness.  But what happens when it’s something you really don’t want to celebrate in the first place?  Well, in a case like this, you can get away with being late.  (But don’t be late on that monthly tax to a big insurer for the privilege of being alive, as I’m sure the Obama regime won’t stand for that once the unconstitutional mandate goes into effect!)  So, anyway, here is my, um, “tribute” to the boondoggle known as ObamaCare…

On March 18, 2010, after Obama had made numerous trips all over the country costing the taxpayers hundreds of thousands if not millions of dollars to promote his boondoggle, while polluting the environment with untold amounts of carbon from his taxpayer funded private jet, Congress rammed ObamaCare through on a party line vote.  EX Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi marched into the chamber with a sickening smirk while holding the big gavel, flanked by extremist leftwing comrades.

That evening, we heard impassioned speeches from Democrats practically suggesting that this multithousand page mess was the best thing since sliced bread and that if we didn’t pass it that moment, the sky would fall in.  No, better yet, maybe the moon would crash into the earth if ObamaCare was not passed that moment!!  And somehow, making people pay big insurers by the month was going to “stick it to the insurance companies.”  Yes, giving them more customers who are forced by law to pay them every month is really going to “stick it” to them.  What other industry gets guaranteed customers like that due to a law?  Not even the auto insurance industry…..because nobody forces someone to own a car!

ObamaCare, a multithousand page bill which has hundreds of places giving vague powers to the Secretary of Health and Human Services to “promulgate regulations” anout practically everything to do with our very personal health care decisions, was promoted as a way to help the poor get insurance.  Of course, all of ObamaCare will not even go into effect for a few more years so I’m not sure how the poor are supposed to cope in the meantime.  Had they just adjusted Medicaid and put up a much smaller bill to clean up problematic insurance company practices, this thing could have gone into effect faster, cost less, and received more approval from the American people.  Heck, Pelosi might have even kept her high and mighty perch —- AND the big gavel (more on that soon).

Correction: Blind faith expected when Democrats in charge

Cross posted to Liberty Ink Journal

I blog at another site with a number of liberal commenters.  They were not thrilled with my last post, to say the least.  In that post I said that big government cheerleaders expect blind faith in big government for the common people…..just not government workers.  Government workers are forced to pay into unions who tell their forced sponsors (both kinds….government workers and the taxpayers) when and in what ways they should not trust the government.

Gosh, was I told!  I was informed that the left has opposed things like the Bush wars and the Patriot Act.  Further, they support regulations for “product safety” (stuff that should have stopped companies operating in Communist China from shipping us pet food that kills our pets and toys layered in lead paint).  Point taken and I must correct myself.  Hence the title of this post.

Let’s look at the Patriot Act.  99% in the tea party oppose it no matter which party’s president is presently polluting the environment with unnecessary trips on Air Force One or reading from a teleprompter.  Big government cheerleaders opposed it when a Republican was in office but were generally silent when Obama reauthorized it.  There wasn’t even much criticism from the left of the numerous House Republicans (shame on them) who voted for it just recently.  But why would they?  Afterall, Obama gets to use it.

Then there are the wars started under Bush.  Ron Paul supporters opposed this long before anyone expected Obama would be the next president.  Most in the tea party oppose at least Iraq (and many Afghanistan too) as unnecessary and not even Constitutional.  But now that Obama is in charge, the “Bring the troops home now” rallies from the left are rarely if ever seen.  There are few peace rallies.  They seem to be strangely quiet.  Gosh, it’s like all that stuff was just done for political purposes as we were headed towards an open seat presidential election back in the years leading to 2008.  Two years into the era of so-called “hope and change” and the wars have not been completely ended.  Folks, we’re more than halfway into the first (and hopefully only) term, here.

But what happens under Obama?  We have numerous multithousand page bills rammed through Congress without rank and file members having a chance to read and digest what is in them.  Instead, wielding huge majorities, Pelosi and Reid push the bills through and Obama rubber stamps them.  ObamaCare, the FAILED “stimulus,” the second “stimulus” (aka big union payoff), and the list goes on.  Rather than even asking what might be in these bills, big government cheerleaders believed their party’s promotional talking points and just demanded they be passed without question.  So yes, I stand behind my claim that big government cheerleaders want blind faith in the government when Democrats are in control.

Product safety?  Barely a whimper from big government cheerleaders about preventing China from shipping poison pet food to the United States.  Why should the Chinese government care about safety?  Afterall, they start medieval style rumors leading, of all things, to brainwashed people (supposedly educated teachers, no less!) viciously and barbarically beating cats to death.    Of course, China believes in barbaric forced abortion of little babies.  But then, Chinese companies with slave labor workers send us toys made with lead paint.  Maybe they were trying to exercise population control over here too?  Rather than demand an end to the low quality Chinese trash being made by slave labor and sent over here using a tremendous amount of fuel, big government cheerleaders would rather use this as an excuse to demand more government regulators.    Yes, throw more money at the problem instead of actually nipping it in the bud.  Sure, let’s continue to risk American children’s lives and we can hire regulators who will allegedly deal with it after it has been caught.  We can’t undo what has already happened to the children who were victims before the problem was caught, of course.

Food safety?  With China’s horrific record on other products?  When I see any kind of food indicating it came from China, I simply won’t even buy it.  I can’t trust it.  New York has numerous apple orchards.  Yet apple juice around here indicates it partially comes from China.  If we can’t buy from New York, what about Washington state?  No, better to risk getting poisoned from China.  Where is big government?  Why not get food that can be grown in the United States from the United States….or at least from countries without a horrible record both in human rights abuses and product safety, like China.  But don’t worry….big government regulators are “saving” everyone from problems — until the next Chinese product scandal comes out and people have already gotten sick or died.

Cribs that don’t fall apart?  When some furniture is made in China and is made to break?  Are you kidding me?

China holds so much debt due to wasteful government spending.  Seriously, you can take all the nation’s millions of unemployed (despite the FAILED “stimulus” and the bazillions of “saved or created” jobs in places like New Hampshire’s 00th and Oklahoma’s 00th districts) and make them into government regulators, but they’ll have no teeth when it comes to regulating away the garbage from China.  It’s a joke when it comes to our “mortgage holder.”  Sure, they can regulate American businesses to the point that they close or leave, but they cannot seriously do anything if Chinese companies want to ship dangerous and poisonous trash to us.

Big government cheerleaders are strangely silent about China and its record of human rights abuses.  They don’t demand that we stop borrowing from them to fill the never ending appetite of big government spenders.  They don’t demand that government shut down frivolous programs and eliminate waste in order to actually deal with the debt that is owed to China in order to start paying it down.  No, their motto is “tax the rich” and spend like there’s no tomorrow.  Better yet, they want to expand the government further.  They don’t demand we cut off trade with China until they clean up their mess.  They complain about companies outsourcing to China yet they don’t demand the one thing that could stop this from happening.  Why would they?  China has a “great” system: Authoritarian communism to control the people, propped up by “capitalism” in an economic sense only, to keep the authoritarian government in place.

Unless or until I hear from big government cheerleaders about ending our dependence on China in all ways and coming to a happy medium here in terms of REASONABLE regulations and taxes that would encourage businesses to run factories here, I don’t believe the hogwash regarding caring about consumer safety.  These are the same people who regulate businesses out of here and are largely silent about unsafe trash coming out of Communist authoritarian China.

As to the issue of blind obedience to the government, in light of big government cheerleaders’ record on the Patriot Act under Obama, ObamaCare, the two FAILED stimuluses, and a host of other Obama championed multithousand page boondoggles, I stand behind my claim that they want it when Democrats are in charge.

Do big government unions agree with the tea party?

Cross posted to Liberty Ink Journal

Big government cheerleaders expect the common people to blindly trust government.  They want everyone to  assume everything done by gargantuan government is in the best interests of the people.  Common people are supposed to operate this way and just distract themselves with sports, video games, news about clueless celebrities like Paris Hilton, etc.  Meanwhile, they are not to pay attention to the continuous growth of government and increasing demands and restrictions from government, such as expectations that people will blindly agree to pay for ObamaCare for the rest of their lives.

So, this is what big government cheerleaders want for the common people.  To sum it all up, their message is: blind obedience, without question.  This benefits big government union executives because the more regulations and restrictions on the people, the more government employees are needed.  The more government employees, the more government employee paychecks with dues forcibly taken out to provide cushy six figure salaries to big union executives.

But really, if the sheeple are expected to have blind trust and assume government is only working in their best interests, it would seem there really is no need for government labor unions.  Afterall, public employees are supposed to be the same as regular folks, right?  And regular folks are supposed to just assume the best on the part of gargantuan government.  They are not supposed to question anything.

The tea party is about paying attention to what the government is actually doing.  The Founding Fathers repeatedly warned that this was necessary.  We are not to have blind trust in the government as big government cheerleaders would like.  Of course, tea party people do this on a voluntary basis because they are passionate about these issues.

Big government cheerleaders, on the other hand, tell common people to trust government but insist we need big labor unions to protect government workers from that very same government.  Anyone who wants to work for the government in a non-politically-appointed (or non “confidential”) position has no choice but to pay union dues to be “protected” from the very same government common people must blindly trust.  Hypocrisy.

Ultimately, the message is that government cannot be trusted.  And that’s coming from big government cheerleaders.  But it gets even better:  Leftwing groups are claiming this is “their tea party moment.” Wait, I thought the rhetoric was that the tea parties are just unophisticated, uneducated, ignorant rednecks without any teeth??  So, why would elite, sophisticated, supposedly cultured, supposedly highly educated, supposedly knowledgeable liberals want to claim they have a “tea party moment” at all?  If they stare down their noses at the tea party, this seems rather odd.  And certainly, they should not adopt tea party ideals of lack of trust in big government.

But the fun part is that the tea party urges common people to keep watch.  Tea parties suggest people reduce their time with distractions, get involved, learn about the Constitution and the government, stay current on what is happening, speak out with a well formed opinion OF THEIR OWN, etc.  People are not paid to do this; they are supposed to do it as part of their duty as citizens.  This is where the tea party and big unions part ways.  Big unions believe in forcing people to basically pay others to watch what is happening in the government.  They then feed their members with propaganda demonizing anyone who disagrees with them.  Some union members respond by calling the union leaders’ boogeyman of the month a “NAZI” and such.

Like tea party people, the rank and file union members should realize they can think for themselves (no need for anyone to tell them what to think) and do their own research.  They do not need to all think the same way and act like a herd.  And really, if they believe they can’t trust the government to do right for them, then why do they expect non-unionized people to just blindly trust the government without question?

Do unions own working people?

I love how because union fatcats are going to lose some power over the workers (such as Wisconsin allowing workers to actually have the CHOICE to opt out of the collective and — gasp — still keep their job!!!), this attempt to stand up for taxpayers who foot the bill is somehow seen as an “attack on working people.”

Do unions own working people?  Do unions own the Middle Class?  Do people who are part of the Middle Class who don’t want to be part of a union or are simply not part of a union not count?  Do their voices not mean anything?  It would seem so, considering the rhetoric we see from the unions with their multimillion dollar ads.  Those ads are funded off the backs of workers FORCED to contribute to big, powerful labor unions who reward their executives with six figure salaries.  Forced union workers get no say in the salaries of these executives or the amounts of their forced donations wasted on ads.

What about owners of very small or micro businesses that are just getting started or barely getting by in this economic climate?  People, who for example, make even less than the typical low end of stateworker salaries.  Do they not count?  Oh wait, silly me, ANYONE who has taken a risk and tried to create something in the hopes of making their own way (rather than work under 17 layers of power hungry bureaucrats) no matter how little they are making, is AUTOMATICALLY an evil multimillionaire CEO (insert wicked, evil laughter sound effect here) exploiting everyone else.  Got it.

Like I’ve said before, and which has fallen on deaf ears, I love how the class envy/class warfare crowd seems to be blind to the six figure salary union fatcats, while they demonize people “not in the (Democrat) club” who makes the same.  The hypocrisy is blatant.

There are plenty of private sector workers who do not want to be unionized.  In fact, there are public sector workers who do not like being unionized.  They can make their own way, deal with their supervisors on their own, etc.  Somehow, it seems the big labor unions like to project the view that they speak for all workers.
Some workers can think and speak for themselves.  They do not need or want wealthy union fatcats speaking or thinking for them.

As to the claim that there would be “favoritism” without the unions, there is favoritism regardless.  Having worked in a union utopia state job in the past, I saw plenty of favoritism and promotions for specific people.  How did they do it?  They mastered the fine art of schmoozing, of course.  All the payments in the world to the union did nothing about this.
But it’s similar with other Democrat Party allied industries in my view.  Abortion businesses seem to think they speak for all women, even those opposed to slaughtering innocent little babies.   Each Democrat allied industry seems to try to create the image that they speak for, or possibly even own, persons who might fall into their sphere of influence.

To be honest, I am totally offended by the union rhetoric and that of the people who simply follow it without question.  It makes me believe they do not care about anyone who thinks differently from them and probably feel these people don’t count or shouldn’t even speak their views.  No, criticism of big union fatcats and their enforcement thugs is HARDLY an “attack on working people” or “an attack on working families.”  There are plenty of people who can and happily do live without creating a job for a six figure salary union bureaucrat.  These people do not care to receive numerous sacrificed trees worth of Democrat propaganda at their expense.  Yes, newsflash, some people like to think for themselves.  They do not need to be forced to pay for union propaganda to “suggest” to them how to vote, what they should believe, etc.  People who want it can get the same nonsense for free by reading the Huffington Post or watching MSNBC.

This is what the Democrat party is about in my opinion: divide and conquer.  It’s all identity politics.  It’s about treating everyone like a victim who can’t think for themselves and need to pay into some organization which then passes money to the Democrat party.  This will “protect” them from a fictional boogeyman.

In a massive fiscal crisis where people are getting fed up being in debt merely to transfer money to entrenched politicians, American serfs are waking up.  Everything is getting a second look.  Unions and other entrenched political institutions are simply not going to keep people under their heel forever.  In the age of the Internet where information is accessible, the self-appointed overlords are not able to keep the common people blind and obedient to their whims.  They cannot continue to feed them propaganda (which the unions force the common workers to pay for) and expect them to swallow it hook, line, and sinker.  People are seeing through it.  Temper tantrums and multimillion dollar campaigns (paid for courtesy the workers who have NO CHOICE but to pay union dues) are no longer being blindly accepted by the common people who foot the bills.

The message is falling flat.  People are waking up.  Times are changing.  Thank goodness.

Albany NY’s Rally for Collectivism

In the Capital Region of New York, one of the biggest “industries” is government of one form or another.  The state is in a fiscal crisis due to decades of nearly limitless spending with no concern for the future.  This is a state that would likely give a majority vote to a cartoon character for any statewide office if it had a “D” after its name.

As then candidate Andrew Cuomo said, during the 2010 New York Gubernatorial Candidate Comedy Variety Act Starring Jimmy McMillan and Friends, aka the 2010 New York State Gubernatorial “Debate,” young people leave New York because there is no opportunity.  A bloated government which wastes money like it’s going out of style will do that kind of thing. Young people who have nothing holding them to New York leave (they can always visit relatives who are “stuck” here because nobody wants to buy their home on a postage stamp sized lot with $4,000+ in taxes to fund the never-satisfied appetite of government).  The same is true of the “evil rich” who are in a position to easily get out even if it means taking a substantial loss on their property.  Big government supporters never seem to quite get this.  There aren’t enough private sector jobs and let’s face it, the government can’t just hire everyone.  Despite the easy availability of welfare in New York, some people actually want something more meaningful than that kind of big government enforced hopelessness.

So, when Van Jones had an “emergency” rally (great marketing for everything Van Jones) bringing all the various ultra leftwing groups together doing the best they could do short of building a time machine and taking everyone back to Woodstock, OF COURSE Albany, NY would have a large showing.  Liberals cheered as if this is some sort of show of “strength” for collectivist unions.  Look, the Capital District is home to gargantuan government that is deep in debt due to decades of wreckless spending.  Is it any surprise there would be a huge turnout for this?  Some have also pointed out that unionized college professors are getting students interested in supporting unions.  If you stand outside in a rain storm, you get wet.  And Obama is an “eloquent speaker” if it’s all laid out for him on his teleprompter.  He’ll read whatever is there, complete with the dramatic pauses he has perfected oh so well.  Do we celebrate the obvious?  OF COURSE leftist college professors would promote collectivist unions to students when they’re typically fed all sorts of propaganda about other causes that run the gamut of leftwing activism.  Par for the course.  This is status quo, hardly anything surprising. Of course, as unions and their collectivist bargaining basically reward mediocrity and status quo the same way they do hard workers (with piddling and pathetic raises spread across the board for everyone), I suppose it’s no surprise that union supporters cheer the obvious.

So, while there may have been a decent number in a state with one of the largest state governments in the country, the numbers were limited elsewhere, according to reports.

I understand that in changing times, liberals want their outdated causes to continue to seem relevant.  Unfortunately for them, we are starting to realize the tremendous costs of their whims.  People are deciding they do not feel like continuing on this unsustainable path and subjecting themselves and their great grandchildren (the ones not brutally aborted, that is) to unending debt.  People do not have the money to support big six figure salary union fatcats who forcibly take money from workers and use it to create multimillion dollar commercials or send it to the Democrat party.  Likewise, people will have to closely examine the high costs of other liberal boondoggles.

We are in the midst of a shifting of historical eras.  The failed policies of the past simply won’t be able to be sustained, now matter how many teeth are gnashed.  The big UAW union got its bailout courtesy the taxpayers.  Government employees were “stimulated” for a time, but that (failed) “stimulus” was not going to last forever.  People cannot continue to pay for even more public debt.  The gravy train is coming to an end.

Ultimately, the more the unions keep this in the news, the more opportunity they give conservative groups to educate people on the many problems associated with collectivist unions, and their ties to the Democrat party.  We have needed this conversation for decades.  May the next big “sacred cow” liberal institution shine a spotlight on itself as much as the big unions have done.  We’ll need a national conversation about that one too.
