Now we know why Obama has been using his “one president at a time” mantra without ever saying he supports anything Bush is doing vis-à-vis the Israel-Hamas clashes…. It’s because he’s apparently ready to start talking directly or indirectly to Hamas according to this article from across the pond.
The incoming Obama administration is prepared to abandon President Bush’s doctrine of isolating Hamas by establishing a channel to the Islamist organisation, sources close to the transition team say.
The move to open contacts with Hamas - which could be initiated through the US intelligence services - would represent a definitive break with the Bush presidency’s ostracising of the group.

That will just confirm the beliefs of the people of Israel

It might end up being good for Israel and for us
icbm Thursday, January 8th at 8:50PM EST (link)The US sometimes gets in the way by giving Israel only modest support for what it needs to do, leading Israel to take half-measures against its enemies and prolonging the conflict (ultimately to the detriment of Israel - and the U.S.)
It is possible that if Israel feels like it’s back is against the wall because the U.S. has stepped away, it may end up feeling compelled to take decisive action.
(Of course, it is also possible that the Israeli government, which has shown much weakness since the incapacitation of Sharon and prior to Sharon’s arrival in power for that matter, will simply get weak in the knees.)
I support continued strong - indeed, stronger - U.S. support for Israel, but the opposite might work out in the end.
Yep, it won't be long

Why not just invite all the thug terrorists at once?
Elizabeth Christian Friday, January 9th at 12:57AM EST (link)They should just go ahead and invite:
1) Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
2) Hezbollah
3) Al-Qaeda including Osama Bin Laden
4) and any other thug group/nation that wants to destroy Israel
to join the hosts of these talks - Obama and Hamas
What a photo that would be!!! I wonder if Obama would wear his flag pin there? No because his true self will be showing at these talks. May God bless our secret service that would be in charge of this man at those talks.
How could Americans be so stupid to be tricked by this man?
Rush is right elections have consequences - here we go!!!

Thank God
JakePrime Saturday, January 10th at 12:03AM EST (link)Israel has such a strong national defense. I don’t think that they’ll be going anywhere anytime soon, much to Iran’s dismay. It’s more an issue of keeping it’s civilians safe and preventing the spread of terrorism than upholding its government. They’ve shown that they can hold their own quite handily. It’ll come in handy if, thanks to the Dems, it finds itself alone.
