Well well well, that didn’t take long.
The Department of Defense has compelled a private employer to fire a U.S. Army Reserve major from his civilian job after he had his military deployment orders revoked for arguing he should not be required to serve under a president who has not proven his eligibility for office.
According to the CEO of Simtech Inc., a private company contracted by the Defense Security Services, an agency of the Department of Defense, the federal government has compelled the termination of Maj. Stefan Frederick Cook.
Cook’s attorney, Orly Taitz, wrote in her blog that Simtech CEO Larry Grice said he would try to find another position within the company for Cook, but nothing is currently available.
This isn’t really that surprising. And there are plenty of layers here to keep Obama out of it. Cook’s status as a reservist is really irrelevant it seems to me. He worked for a company that operates under a DOD contract which required at least certain people to go abroad and he refused to do so. While it does NOT seem equivalent to a soldier defying a direct order, it DOES equate to an employee refusing to do his job. I don’t know why DOD needed to order it though - it seems like Simtech would have done this on its own as any employer under the circumstances would do.

Wait a minute BK, Let me get this straight...
Aaron Gardner Thursday, July 16th at 9:54AM EDT (link)Are you condoning a private company firing a private employee upon compulsion by the gov’t because of his refusal to deploy as a Reservist?
The reason I ask is because he didn’t refuse to go anywhere to his private employer. He refused to go as a member of the military for a specific reason.
Now I am not saying that what this guy did is right, I think he is obviously playing politics, but does that give the DOD the right to tell his private sector employer to fire him? I would think that is a bit of a over reach.

Tbone Thursday, July 16th at 10:04AM EDT (link)If the Army want’s to court marshal this guy for his actions that fine by me. He then gets his day in court. But, to have the guy fired brefore that day in court is nothing but government jackboot thuggery.
Envisioning when all that is Left is the Right.
Maybe I misunderstood
bk Thursday, July 16th at 10:09AM EDT (link)Was his order to go in his role as a reservist, or as part of his job at Simtech? I was thinking it was the latter after seeing this story, but if it was the former then obviously it’s a different story. In that case, the DOD should have had nothing to do with his status at Simtech.
It was the former. nt

Especially since he hasn't been convicted of anything yet
AceInTX Friday, July 17th at 1:58AM EDT (link)If he’s guilty of refusing “LAWFULL” orders as a reservist he should be court mashalled and convicted. ONly then should he lose his job since he’d be off to prison for a while…
But to have a cabinet level agency of the Federal Government coerce the firing of a citizen of a private corporation who has yet to be charged let alone convicted of anything or face the loss of government contracts is beyond belief and should not be sloughed off no matter how crazy and political his actions have been!

Fortunately, not too many military people will be in this situation
civil_truth Friday, July 17th at 2:31AM EDT (link)…especially since most times the firing will be done sub rosa rather than publicly, where it will be much more difficult to prove.
…on the other hand, letting this go unchallenged we could find the government being encouraged to coerce businesses to fire all sorts people whom the government considers to be undesirables, i.e. a government sponsored blacklist. This is classic totalitarian behavior.
Hopefully (assuming the above scenario is true) various groups will go to court and the court will not allow itself to be intimidated. Unfortunately, the bankruptcy precedent does not suggest that the court will stand up, in which case we will have a runaway Executive Branch. However, if the court does its job, the Obama thuggery could faces some restraint finally.
These comments have nothing to do with what action the military could take against Major Cook with regards to his military position and actions vis a vis lawful military orders.
And Rightly So!
I couldn't agree more...

Something like this:
Tanggor Thursday, July 16th at 12:20PM EDT (link)Dear Simtech CEO:
Regarding your employee Cook -
Nice DOD contracts you have there.
Be a shame if anything happened to them…
Love,
DOD (on behalf of The One)

I'm sure this kind of thing has always been done and said behind closed doors...
AceInTX Friday, July 17th at 2:02AM EDT (link)but the fact that this is being done in full view of the public speaks to just how rotten we are at the core as a nation…these bureaucrats and Obama sycophants have no fear of retribution from we the people!

Well, it looks like
Deskpilot Thursday, July 16th at 6:34PM EDT (link)the lawyer just got a wrongful termination lawsuit handed to her.
Put in the popcorn. This is going to morph into something VERY ugly.
At some point is will end up before SCOTUS and the only empathy Sotomayor will be showing s for Obama, who expensive coverup had had a little light shone on it.
Did you every notice that it’s always Obama’s army of thugskeeping things SECURE for him:
Definition by service: SECURE
NAVY:(My branch) Turn out the lights and go home for the day.
USMC: (Brother Corps) Surround a target and don’t let anyone OUT unless on a stretcher.
Air Force: 10 year lease with an option to buy.
ARMY: Surround your target and don’t let ANYONE in. Shoot to Kill any interlopers. Obama’s brownshirts in suits in action.
