The quote last week that caught my eye shows that a good deal of blame can be placed on political correctness.
“I told him, ‘There’s something wrong with you,’” Osman Danquah, co-founder of the Islamic Community of Greater Killeen, told The Associated Press on Saturday. “I didn’t get the feeling he was talking for himself, but something just didn’t seem right.”
Danquah assumed the military’s chain of command knew about Hasan’s doubts, which had been known for more than a year to classmates at the Maryland graduate military medical program. His fellow students complained to the faculty about Hasan’s “anti-American propaganda,” but said a fear of appearing discriminatory against a Muslim student kept officers from filing a formal complaint.
At NRO’s the corner they’re calling “better screwed than rude”.
So what does General Casey make the rounds of Sunday morning talk shows to tell us? These are the lead two paragraphs in a NYT story, where they indicated he said pretty much the same thing on two other shows. It sure sounds like he’s reemphasizing that the Army is still following the “better screwed than rude” policy. Incredible.
General George Casey Jr., the Army chief of staff, said on Sunday that he was concerned that speculation about the religious beliefs of Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, accused of killing 12 fellow soldiers and one civilian and wounding dozens of others in a shooting rampage at Fort Hood, could “cause a backlash against some of our Muslim soldiers.”
“I’ve asked our Army leaders to be on the lookout for that,” General Casey said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union. “It would be a shame — as great a tragedy as this was — it would be a shame if our diversity became a casualty as well.”
I’d have thought he’d be asking his Army leaders to make sure that all our troops are treated equally instead of acting like the soldier who reports the next Hasan is a racist guilty of a hate crime.

......and Janet Napolitano turns on the laser target designator.

“This was a terrible tragedy for all involved,” Napolitano told reporters in the United Arab Emirates’ capital Abu Dhabi. “Obviously, we object to — and do not believe — that anti-Muslim sentiment should emanate from this.”
Napolitano said her agency is working with state and local groups to try to deflect any anti-Muslim anger after the Thursday attacks by Army Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a Muslim who reportedly expressed growing dismay over the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan. The shootings left 13 people dead and 29 wounded.
“This was an individual who does not, obviously, represent the Muslim faith,” she said after meeting with a group of women university students.

Ms. Janet Napolitano, the DHS Director who does not, obviously, represent The United States of America, The Constitution, Bill of Rights, current law and people willing and able to defend it all.
Somehow, I have a feeling that if a person like me would ever have “an encounter” with a peace-loving Muslim where I would have to do any sort of take-down in order to stop the peace-loving Muslim from killing Americans, I’d be charged with a hate crime and the peace-loving Muslim would be given The Medal Of Freedom.
In my opinion, this is all deliberate on the part of the current administration and those behind the curtain who own it.
It’s as if they seem to want a series of ‘man-caused disasters’ and/or to generate an uprising so they can slam their fists through what’s left of our nation, The Constitution and citizens, destroying all Rights liberties and freedom.
You say you want a revolution,Well you know…….. It’s coming.
Of course you can have my guns……. Bullets first.
I didn’t say rounds, shells or magazines……
I said bullets first.
Bingo - and I didn't see this other article until after I wrote the diary

oops that was supposed to be a reply to the 1st comment

Casey should be paying more attention to possible backlashes by Muslims and their sympathizers against our troops than the other way around. The body count speaks for itself.
That Casey would possibly think it appropriate...
MacAoidh Monday, November 9th at 11:18PM EST (link)…to harangue against a hypothetical event in the aftermath of a real one with real victims is beyond idiotic. It’s insulting to the memories of the dead and to their families, not to mention to the wounded.
The quote I saw was this: “And as horrific as this tragedy was, if our diversity becomes a casualty, I think that’s worse.”
No, General, what’s REALLY worse is you not running off every single jihadist in the Army before the next one takes it upon himself to shoot his comrades in arms in the back. If that happens again, you shouldn’t lose your job. No, if it happens again you ought to be hung for treason.
