Couric’s Selective Outrage

We all know how much liberals “loathe” the military. Now that some won’t bash their Commander-in-Chief and “the mission”, let’s just go after the troops.

One in three female soldiers will experience sexual assault while serving in the military, compared to one in six women in the civilian world. The Pentagon released a disturbing report Tuesday on sexual abuse in the military, saying that more than 2,900 sexual assaults were reported last year, up nearly 9 percent from the year before. Nearly two-thirds of the cases involved rape or aggravated assault.

Obviously no one here condones sexual assault, but with that, let’s get a couple of things straight regarding this blatant hit job.

      The owners have been busy a lot lately and haven’t been reminding people of what makes an acceptable diary.

      It is, however, as ittbn said, perfectly acceptable to say that it has been crossposted to your blog.

      I read your first diary here. I think you have a lot of things to say; relevant things. So, please don’t take this personally, okay?

    I know it is nice to have traffic on your site and I know that if we saw it we would probably like it but this is just not the way to win our hearts.

    What is acceptable protocol around here is to post your entire diary here and then also post it at your site. You should put in the diary that it is cross-posted at your site and give the link. Then when we are suitably impressed by your brilliance, we will gladly go over and have a look around.

    In the meantime, this isn’t an advertising venue. It is a discussion venue and we need your entire point before we can discuss it.

    If you’ve read any of the responses to some of my more “controversial” columns, ittbn has a long way to go before I’d be anywhere near taking this personally.

    Actually, I entered diaries here last year but was turned off because people who are here to participate assumed some kind of ownership of this site and got downright pushy, thus my defense mechanism was on guard. No offense was meant to ittbn.

    I’ll observe the rules in the future.
