..Since they seem hell-bent on sodomizing the average American.

With cap and trade San Francisco and New York elites will sit back and stroke themselves over their "enlightened environmental greenness" while the rest of us will just get shafted by higher energy and transportation costs.

1stRichard suggested the "Cap and Trade" boneheads' careers will end because every 9-12 Project member and every teamsarah.org person and every Tea Partier will make their unseatings a priority. I hope so, too.

But hoping for it and accomplishing it are two different things, naturally.

I suggest all of us use this as a rallying cry to get more conservatives into the Party as precinct committeemen. The best way to end the careers of these spineless fools is to end it in their Republican primaries. The best way to make that happen is to have conservatives flood their districts' precincts as precinct committeemen to ensure that the conservative candidate challenging them becomes well-known as their adversary in the primary election. Turn out in primary elections is traditionally very low -- all the more reason why a concerted "get out the vote" effort for a conservative challenger will make the difference in the primary.

Obama and his minions took down the Clinton machine at the grass roots level. They became PCs and beat Clinton in those states with caucuses. They used precinct committeemen in the other states with traditional primaries to get the vote out better than the "powers that be" in the Democrat Party. We conservatives can take down these RINOs in the same way. But we have to get into the Party ranks.

Are you a precinct committeeman yet?

Thank you.

I am only one. But I am a conservative Republican Party precinct committeeman. And trying to recruit more as politely as I can.

Not just by the 8 republican congressmen, but the entire system itself.

While we should do our best to support the non re-election of the 8 and their replacement by "good " republicans, let us not forget that the real enemies who brought this Cap-and-Tax Bill are the Democrats and the rest of the Environmental Communists.

Not that I am seeing any discouragement here, but if there are any who are and are not posting....
Even though we did not win the House vote, our phone calls and contacts have not been made in vane. The close nature of this vote puts us in better position for the Senate.

100% committed to the ObamAgenda and destroying Jobs for most while protecting only Unions... They will use the Michigan House members used:

Gary Peters, maybe Ehlers/Stupak/others in MI trading GM, GE, Arena, Cobo, promises for CapAndTrade (CAT) vote

was discussed on WJR 760 AM (Detroit, MI) this morning... The Chevy AVEO is the GM small car but Democrats are not happy enough with those production levels and want the very popular Pontiac G6 gone (as well as forcing GM to produce yet another even smaller car than the AVEO).

It is said that 1,400 jobs will be created/saved at Orion Plant and that Peters is trading his vote for that Plant (no doubt believing that will get his re-election) despite the 4,000 projected job-losses CAT will cause over time and the countless Taxes CAT will bring to Michigan citizens.

More MI CAT Trade-offs: GE jobs and Det. Red Wings....

yep... GE announced some jobs "out of the Blue" are coming to Michigan... Any connection to promised votes?!?!? I think so…. PLUS…. The Detroit Red Wings OPT-OUT of the Lease of Detroit for Joe Louis Arena to “explore other options” … Any bets on the STIMULUS MONEY PROMISES to/for the area that will be made in the name of JOBS to build a new Arena in the Detroit area for yet more CAT Votes?!?!?

Call Michigan Reps and let them know that TRADE-OFFS for their Vote are NOT acceptable and all these supposed “promised” jobs will mean NOTHING when Michigan suffers infinately further under CAT job-losses and Taxes!!!

Ehlers, Stupak, and perhaps other MI (CALL ANY/ALL OF THEM) votes could swing on these Jobs/Projects promises... Call them and let them know trading 1,400 jobs for 4,000 lost and higher Taxes IS NOT A POSITIVE MOVE!!!!

There is no way they will bring this to a vote in an election year. They might be able to water it down and get it through the Senate, but then they would need a revote in the House. It would be campaign fodder against every blue dog that close to the election.

Here is a quick list of Redstate Dem Senators:
Begich - AK
Lincoln - AR
Pryor - AR
Landrieu - LA
Baucus - MT
Tester - MT
McCaskill - MO
Nelson - NE
Dorgon - ND
Conrad - ND
Byrd - WV
Rockefeller - WV

From conservative purple states:
Nelson - FL
Hagon - NC
Warner - VA
Webb - VA

I think we could even pull a few from midwest industrial blue states:
Bayh - IN (which could also be considered a conservative purple)
Levin - MI
Stabenow - MI
Brown - OH

OK, maybe not those last three, but we shouldn’t need them.

There should be more than enough here to offset Collins and Snowe. At first glance I don’t think this thing has a chance of passing let alone breaking a filibuster. Best to be prepared anyway and not assume anything.

I've already called, emailed and wrote all 3 of the reps here in ND and will keep calling the rest of this week. Spent today calling Pomeroy and he came to his senses. I can get a letter to the Forum, but who knows if they'll publish it. If nothing else, I'll become very friendly with the phone staff in Dorgan's and Conrad's offices.

Letter submitted through his site:
=============================
Heath (Shuler)-
You will not remember me, I am sure, but I attended Gus Purcell's football camp in the summer of 93. You and I spoke of xxxx xxxx, a common acquaintance, later on I caught up with on crutches in the tunnel of panther's stadium when Washington was here playing the panthers. That said, I have followed your career with some interest and admiration. We do not follow the same political philosophy often, but I have grown to appreciate your ability to vote your conscience and stand up to the recent strong arming that has been taking place in Congress. I am writing you now, because of your "Yes" vote on Cap and Trade. I felt confident that a "Blue Dog" like yourself would see this legislation for what it truly is...a clear and distinct power and money grab by Washington, again. This bill, that you voted for will in no way help the environment, create jobs or help America become energy independent. What it will do is cost the people more in taxes, more in energy, and result in a lower standard of life for all of us who are paying the way for this country. I am disappointed in your decision, to say the least, and I can no longer wish you a long a prosperous career in politics. This vote was that important. I called your office twice this morning to voice my concern, I guess it either fell on deaf ears, you were too concerned with playing party lines OR you have surrounded yourself with the ilk that is ruining this country....one devastating spending bill after another. In any case, I wish you well, and want you to know that you have lost a fan and that whoever your opponent is in the next election has gained a contribution from this household....in Huntersville...Not Asheville. I will donate to your opponent every year until you are out.

==================================
I will contribute to each campaign challenger of these turncoats...PLEASE keep this listed and let's get these jokers OUT.

With all due respect, it is the law of the land in this great country, not whatever people who "win" decide to do.

Controlling my light bulbs, the temperature on my spa, the reflectivity of the shingles on my roof, the amount of electricity and gasoline I decide to buy on the free market, how energy effiecient my home is when I sell it, is NOT the business of the federal government. It is just that plain simple.

ideology to begin with. Somewhere today I read an article, probably linked by Drudge or Instapundit, that enumerated the number of countries that are canceling their own carbon cap bills. I am ashamed of my country for the first time in my adult life for being so colossally ignorant.

Well, scratch that---I was even more ashamed when they elected O-frakking-bama.

Someone from the MSM will find 2 people that called in support of it and interview only one that was opposed. Thus the spin will be:

"2/3rds of the callers were in favor of the bill."

Oh, btw, youthgrunt, Moe took care of the person you responded to about 15 minutes ago. But it was over a comment made in another thread.

BUT THEY ARE IN THE POCKET OF OBAMA AND PELOSI ANYWAY.

The ire directed at the 8 GOP quislings is useful in many respects
1. The Dems needed *every* vote. If the GOP was lock-step against this, it would have failed.
2. It was a bad bill.
3. These Repubs represent *US* supposedly. Fix them and we fix the party.
4. WE WILL GO AFTER LIB DEMS. Every single one. in the general election.

First, McCain did not lose "badly". This was not a McGovern loss, or a Mondale loss. It was certain a solid win for Obama, but that does not imply that it is "clear that the majority of Americans want climate change legislation."

Rasmussen ran a poll about a month ago where they asked if people knew what Cap and Trade was about. Given three choices, only 24% got it right.

http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/politics/environment/congress_pushes_cap_and_trade_but_just_24_know_what_it_is

Most recently, only a small plurality of Americans believe that "Climate Change" is caused by man (44%, compared to 40% believing that planetary trends).

Only 22% would buy a hybrid to help the environment. http://www.rasmussenreports.com/public_content/lifestyle/general_lifestyle/april_2009/70_say_families_are_recyclers

So I guess I just don't buy your assertion that it is "clear" that we want climate change legislation. I suspect when word leaks out that the 202 area code was not clogged today by supporters of "climate change legislation", but rather those who would rather not have it passed.

If it was supported that strongly, then we wouldn't have had diversionary tactics of the noisy talk of health care/insurance right before the vote. We wouldn't have had 300 pages added to the bill at 3 in the morning before it comes up for a vote.
