since the night Fred dropped out and this turned into a nastyfest I still have not gotten over. I’m not leaving but I’m miserably disappointed in the folks here.

I can understand why Palin backers are peeved right now.

But she’s not the only gunslinger out there.

And 2010 is before 2012 anyway.

Our own individual partisanship is hurting us and each other. I liked Sarah, a lot, but we shouldn’t take it out on each other the fall out from this, or any other political event. It is another upheaval added onto almost all of the other negative political news we have suffered since the election.

But we have to get through it. Go through the stages of grief and regroup and wait and see how all of this plays out. Surely, we can do that!

until today, are all acting like the jilted boyfriend, rushing to run her down to all their friends. It’s just a tad juvenile is all. I think the “hell hath no fury like a woman scorned” thing is offbase. And yes, I am particularly attuned to the differences between RS men and RS women. Maybe it’s mostly conservative women who liked Palin and conservative men just went along for fear of riling us. My hubby genuinely loves her, though. My stepdaughter is probably on a cliff about now. I’m too old not to be cynical, but I’m sad.

I didn’t realize that if you liked Sarah Palin you were therefore in a cult of personality. The assumption she won’t run for office is only one issue. My bigger issue is no one but Beltway types remain and they are all sell-outs. They’ve all had their chance to prove otherwise and have failed time and again. There are only John McCain types left–that worked out well didn’t it? Pro cap and trade, pro illegals. Why not just fold the party now?

because I really like Sarah Palin. I think she’s truly down to earth and a very good leader. I feel badly for the people of Alaska that, because of the liberal witch hunt, they will no longer have such a fine governor.
As much as I think she would’ve loved to have stuck it out and been a thorn in the left’s side, as a mother, she had to do what was right for her children and her family as a whole. I don’t blame her for that.
I also believe that she was convinced she was doing a disservice to the Alaskan people when she found herself spending more time beating down false allegations and childish vilification than she did serving her constituents.
If you want to blame someone, blame the left wing media and their brain-dead followers.
I truly hope that she does find a place to use her talents to help defeat Obama in 2012. We can’t afford to lose a true conservative like her, especially when so many conservatives like and support her.
I really hate it. Now the smug, elitist demons of the liberal community will give themselves the credit for running her out of office. That should be our motivation to to make sure they get what they deserve.

It seems to me that it’s really too soon to tell where Palin is, or isn’t, with regards to her political future. Does anyone really know why she did what she did? I don’t.

Personally I hope she had some really good reason for resigning. I’m quite willing to just wait and see how the drama plays out.

One reason I would love to see her succeed, at whatever she does, is that it drives the Liberals and the MSM mad. The haters miss GWB so much they need to find someone else to target with their venom.

yes, Ron Paul’s idiotic supporters are kooks, but mainly because Ron Paul is a kook! I thought that the ability to get people to REALLY LIKE YOU is a positive thing in politics. Only a very small minority of people care about the details of political philosophy as much as us at RedState. Almost all the rest will like or dislike candidates in ways that we may seem as unthinking or irrational. So some of you are throwing under the bus the ONE PERSON that we have that can get a huge number of people to like her in that way. And remember, we have to beat BHO in 2012. You really think we can do that without having a candidate that generates the kind of emotion that he generates in the kool-aid drinkers???

Disgusting and sad.

P.S. There ain’t ONE SINGLE PERSON anywhere on the horizon in the GOP that has a prayer of generating the kind of adoration that Sarah Palin has right now, or that Ronald Reagan had. Even Fred!! (and I really like Fred, my former Senator).

I don’t get the depth of the emotional investment in Palin at times. Palin is on our side. She’s a strong conservative and I like her. But anyone who heard that rambling bit of incoherence she called a press conference and honestly thinks she’s our best shot for 2012 has a few screws loose.
