Am I the only one reading the comments on the article? How can people be so blind (or is it dumb)? I am so sad for the state of our country and the stupidity of many of my fellow citizens. They just don’t get it - free healthcare isn’t free! Nor are any of the “free” things government offers. WE pay for them. I am a public high school graduate (although also a private, Catholic college graduate) and even I understood these things after high school.

Why would he come out now and make himself look like such an idiot?
I thought supporting Obama was a stupid move but now coming out and in essence saying he was a sucker? It’s people like Powell we don’t need in the party. Dude, go join Arlen in the corner and put your dunce cap on. The train has left the station and it’s too late to jump on board.

Powell has absolutely ZERO credibility on this issue. He gave up his right to voice his doubts when he endorsed the “O” last fall.

I still want him to be kicked out of the Republican party. His kind of Republican we do not need. Now or ever.

Powell’s the worst kind of jackass - he can’t make up his mind.

As seen with Sandra Day O’Connor, doing “whatever works” is a way of disposing of the nation’s core values, our freedom, and most importantly, our Constitution.

This is Powell at his “best” Criticizing the person that is in fact doing something… and that he previously supported.

Only 30% of the country supported the revolution. If the founders had used focus groups we would all be speaking German, Japanese, Russian, Chinese or something worse.

Colin Powell has simply become an unelected, African-American clone of John McCain.

When the left doesn’t need him anymore, he’ll make noise like a Red-State GOP leader (ie, like right now). When his own party needs him in a crises, he’ll stab them in the back and run into the open arms of an adoring media.

here we all thought that the General was an honorable man who rose from the lower ranks to the heights of the most high and mighty. I have read that he gave the maximum amount allowed to McCain and then just a short time before the election came out in support of Obama. He didn’t see the deceit in the eyes of Obama; he was lied to by the CIA; he didn’t know about his deputy Sec of State outing Valerie Plame; he doesn’t lose his place on the social lists of Washington to miss any top cocktail parties and social dinner events. Well, let me tell you what really is there; General Powell voted for Barack Obama just like many others, he is a racists and voted because of the color of his skin! If he were truly a man of honor he would not have endorsed Obama and went quietly into the voting booth without saying anything. Yes, General Powell is a racists, just like David Duke and the KKK. He voted for a man he knew wasn’t fit to be our President like a good “yellow dog Democrat”. Challenge that if you can, General Powell!

I honor Gen. Powell for his service, but this certainly proves he lacked the judgement to ever be president.

Obama is doing exactly what he said he was going to do and this was obvious to any thinking person before the election.

The fact that Gen. Powell and so many other Americans were blinded by Obama’s charisma instead of looking at his core beliefs still sends chills down my spine.
