Jim DeMint, on a conference call the other day, said healthcare is Barack Obama’s Waterloo. If healthcare fails, Obama is broken.
Jake Tapper reports the White House intends to use that comment to rally its troops in the healthcare fight.
Officials will say the people being “broken” are the American people going bankrupt paying for health insurance premiums that increase 10 percent every year, the source says, and that those who want to use this issue to break the president are doing nothing but working for insurance companies and insurance executives.
Um, actually Barry and Rahm, the American people are broke now because of your spending. And we cannot afford more.
It is laughably outrageous that Barack Obama would dare say health insurance is driving Americans to bankruptcy when the very plan he proposes would bankrupt the entire country.
Irony with Barack Obama knows no bounds.
Just the other day, Barack Obama said , “I will not sign on to any health plan that adds to our deficits over the next decade. And by helping improve quality and efficiency, the reforms we make will help bring our deficits under control in the long term.”
Yet, every single Democrat proposal compounds the deficit to such a massive degree that the CBO has not had time to do all the math and its latest numbers are subject to further change.
See, for example, this press report:
“The $1 trillion plan, which was unveiled on Tuesday, “would result in a net increase in the federal budget deficit of $239 billion over the 2010-2019 period,” according to a report submitted to Congress by the Congressional Budget Office and the Joint Committee on Taxation.”
The American people are broke. It is not the insurance companies that did. It’s Obama’s out of control spending.

Beat him to the punch

peg_c Monday, July 20th at 8:30AM EDT (link)Fail, break, cower in shame, discredit socialist and Marxist policies for 50 years, and destroy the Democrat party. OK, so I dream big.
Government cannot be the solution when government is the problem.
You go, girl! It never hurts to have big dreams.
janis Monday, July 20th at 9:07AM EDT (link)Especially when millions of us share those same dreams. Guess we need to come up with our own “I Have A Dream” speech appropriate for the times in which we live. And ” judging a man by the content of his character and not the color of his skin” would be front and center in that speech, no?
It is Obama who has pitted himself against the country
Marcus_Traianus Monday, July 20th at 9:02AM EDT (link)Mr. Obama has decided that massive spending is his answer to solve all ills, especially now that he is in charge. However, we have been going down this road since a Democratic majority gained Congress two years prior to the departure of Mr. Bush. Let’s not forget Mr. Obama was part of that majority and his votes have helped lead us in this direction even before being elected President.
When most of us get into lean financial times, we cut back spending and hopefully fall back on some of the income saved when things were better. Yet Mr. Obama and Democrats continue to defy this basic, common sense logic- completely astounding.
So as folks try to figure out where the next paycheck is coming from and how to feed their families, Mr. Obama and Democrats talk about spending trillions more on a senseless entitlement and then raising taxes in order to fund it. How is this fiscally or morally responsible and sagacious? Is this the “tax thy neighbor” commandment of Democrats? Is it a proven policy from some past financial crisis? Hardly.
Under the fallacious banner of “cost-savings”, Mr. Obama will finally lead us to the crowning stage of Democrats fiscal disaster. This financial Armageddon has been achieved by Mr. Obama and he wholly owns it. His proclivity to drive a parochial socio-political agenda at all costs has taken us well beyond where normal, proven, perspicacious measures would have. This is not America’s agenda, it is Mr. Obama’s and his Democrat partners in Congress.
The American people are finally starting to realize the worthlessness of words which sound pleasing but are accompanied by painful, contra intellectual and antithetical policies.Even the most trusting of souls will eventually arrive at a point where they realize they are a victim. In this case, a victim of Mr. Obama’s marketing, which has been used as cover to employ some of the most reckless policies in our history. Some food for thought; there is nothing worse, and more motivated than an American who discovers their trust has been betrayed.
We will get better in spite of these actions. But it will take time to unwind these feckless, destrcutive actions which will be a drag on our country for decades. Something to remember next time one steps into the voting booth.
Waterloo indeed; and we are the opposition.
“Both of our political parties, at least the honest portion of them, agree conscientiously in the same object—the public good; but they differ essentially in what they deem the means of promoting that good. One side believes it best done by one composition of the governing powers; the other, by a different one. One fears most the ignorance of the people; the other, the selfishness of rulers independent of them. Which is right, time and experience will prove.”.Thomas Jefferson

Sadly, the reverse is true, if health care passes, the people are broken.
penguin2 Monday, July 20th at 9:21AM EDT (link)But I believe that is exactly what Obama and his Marxist friends want. To destroy America. To make her a minion of the U.N. or of a One World Government. They want to see her subjugated.
Can we start calling him a Communist now?

Not Waterloo. The Russian Campaign perhaps.
NickLevi86 Monday, July 20th at 9:35AM EDT (link)We haven’t sent him to Elba yet.
Obama still has three and a half years until his election; fifteen until congress. He remains powerful, but with cap-and-kill, bailouts/takovers, and “health care,” he is starting to bite off more than he can chew, making too many enemies at once. The Blue Dogs are sticking up longer than anyone expected and the TEA Parties are a broad spectrum of voters.
Obviously, scorched earth doesn’t work as well in politics as it does during Russian winters, but Obama is burning the tax-base for us. Enough people are getting tired of being taxed and fee-ed to death, that the mid-terms may be his Leipzig/”Battle of Nations.” Only then will he be close to a downfall.
However, we must always keep vigilance, for in politics, the enemy will always escape from Elba. And we need to put him there first.

Spending with Fiat Money Just Another Step
GaryL Monday, July 20th at 12:20PM EDT (link)I think cap-and-tax and healthcare are just stepping stones for a much bigger agenda… the “New World Order” (as it were). We no longer have representative government as we grew up with and we are marching toward losing all national sovereignty.
I’m reminded of Epictetus, the Phrygian philosopher, who once said that appearances have four states:
1. Things are, and appear as they are
2. Things are not, and do not even appear to be
3. Things are, and do not appear to be
4. Things are not, and yet appear to be
In today’s world, I think we are dealing more and more with the fourth state. Often times, what appears to be the issue or problem on the surface, is just a distraction from the real issue or problem. It is deceptive. When those in power can make things appear to be when they are not and when people accept those appearances without questioning it, those in power can in effect, create deceptions that take away our freedoms without our even being aware of it.
We have a structure that “appears to be” our constitutional government, but the truth is… we now have an invisible government made up of czars in the executive branch, a combination of the Federal Reserve banking/financial cartel and multinational corporations for a legislature, and a supreme court that no longer hears cases that are related to the old constitutional form of government because citizens do not having “standing” (they are MIA).
All of this government spending using fiat money is just hastening the demise of this country’s sovereignty, so they can get on with bringing us a global financial system and government based on the collective/totalitarian model.
My prayer these days is that people in this country will wake up and use their God-given critical thinking ability, so they will recognize the current deceptions being foisted upon us.
Don't give him ideas how to succeed...

I have a huge HMO. They have been great for me, a single man. Kind of like a nanny or a mom or a wife. “Yes, Larry, have you had your eyes checked, have you had your colonoscpy;it is time” They operate on “Wellness”. They are sincere, as I think we, the subscribers, benefit from the attention,
Sure there are problems you hear about. But for me with bp probs and a stent, they have been great.
If the uninsured were provided with this HMO, the prob would besolved. It has plans for singles at 79.00 a month and families start at $249.00
The prob is that many many Americans do not value their health coverage and have been taught to despise pharmceuticals and hospitals and insurance cos.
Those that are out of the loop can pay something off their pay towards one of these plans.
