This is the seventh and penultimate in a series of diary posts, asking supporters of each GOP presidential candidate to state why they support their man. Too often everything here is seems critical. This is an effort to find out what people see as the positives in our candidates.
Remember, the point of this is to allow supporters to voice their reasons. If you don't like Tancredo, don't post here, go to one of the other entries in this series, linked below and post for why one of them will get your vote.
The first six are:
"I will vote for Rudy Giuliani for President because...",, (73 comments at the time of this posting);
"I support Mike Huckabee for President because ________." (31 comments at the time of posting):
"I support Duncan Hunter for President because______.". (Just 8 comments at time of this posting);
"I will vote for John McCain because_____" (34 comments so far)
"I am going to vote for Ron Paul because_____" (39 comments at this time).
"I will vote for Mitt Romney because ___" (50 comments at post time)
Fred Thompson to come.
Today, it's the turn for Tom Tancredo's supporters. Remember, the goals are 1) to say what's good about our candidates; and 2) to get a feel for what GOP activists think is important. So please don't go negative, including sarcasm and don't debate. We just want to hear why supporters favor their guy. This is a simple request - Please don't post negative comments here. It's not hard.
So, complete this sentence: I am going to vote for Tom Tancredo for President because________.
1. Immigration
2. Immigration
3. Immigration
4. He is from my home state.
5. All the other candidates except Huck died in an accident.
I tried to be nice, I really did. The above is why I'm voting for Tom, and no, #5 is not optional.
Sorry I went neg again Brad.
...because hell has frozen over and pigs have flown.
Actually, across the board, I'm probably closer to Tancredo on the issues than any of the other candidates - his tone can be a bit harsh though.
“.....women and minorities hardest hit”
We need him on Capitol Hill but I'll have to leave that to the good people of Colorado.
Being a single-issue candidate, I don't think he was ever serious about winning the nomination. I believe his purpose was to make sure the candidates know that We the People still expect our gov't to secure the borders and enforce existing immigration laws.

forcing their withdrawal from the race.
Not only did the illegal aliens shoot all the Republicans except for Tancredo, but they unleashed a tactical nuclear strike on the Democratic national convention killing everyone but Mike Gravel, who mutates into a 20-foot-tall killing machine but wins the Democratic nomination anyway.
Then I consider Tancredo before I vote independent.
So let me just say that Tom Tancredo is strong on the life issue with regards to abortion, and if push came to shove, perhaps I could bring myself to vote for him over certain Democrats.
He is not pro-amnesty.
He is a conservative
He is solid on economic issues.
He is not Huckabee

... merely having to say/write President Tancredo would drive the MSM into raving fits of lunacy - and I just don't have enough entertainment like that in my life.
Oh, and he's pretty darn good on the issues, too.

I'll vote for Tom Tancredo because he is the only real conservative in the race.
Unlike every other candidate he does not have to apologize to conservatives on a single issue. He is the real deal.
Fiscally conservative
Socially conservative
2nd Amendment Conservative
Small Government Conservative
Anti-abortion Conservative
Low Tax conservative
National Security Conservative
Law and order conservative
Oh, and did I mention that he is fantastic on the illegal immigration issue too.
Even though I know he can't win, I want my vote counted and everybody to know that all the flip flopping and goveling on the immigration issue by the other candidates hasn't been very convincing.
1. He will appoint strict constructionist judges
2. He is excellent on securing the border and stopping illegal immigration. He is unlikely to be our next president, but he has served the country well already by advancing the issue of stopping illegal aliens.
3. He supports traditional marriage
4. He has good ideas on education
5. He supports the right to keep and bear arms.
6. Part of his plan for improving healthcare involves tort reform

I'm not so sure this is a negative comment because I actually do believe that Tancredo is right on immigration. But unfortunately that's the only reason...
