JIM OGONOWSKI LAUNCHES NEW TELEVISION AD

WESTFORD, MA—Jim Ogonowski today launched the first television advertisement in the Massachusetts US Senate race. The ad, airing statewide, highlights the anger and frustration Massachusetts residents have with John Kerry.
“We have real problems in Massachusetts. The economy is floundering, gas prices are out of control, people are worried about keeping their jobs and are having trouble paying their mortgages. And what has John Kerry done? He is nowhere to be found,” said Ogonowski. “24 years ago, we had an energy problem, now we have an energy crisis. 24 years ago we paid too much in taxes, now we have even less money left in our pocket and John Kerry wants to take more. John Kerry is an absentee Senator.”
The television ad features unscripted reactions of diner patrons from Jim’s “People Before Politics” tour which took him to over 50 coffee shops across the state of Massachusetts. When asked if they had seen John Kerry, the overwhelming answer was “No.”
“How can you represent the people and fight for them if you don’t even show up in the state?” Ogonowski continued, “You can learn a lot by sitting down with someone and talking to them over a cup of coffee. You need to listen and lead, not leave. When I am in the United States Senate, I will never forget who it is that elected me or stop listening."
“He [John Kerry] has forgotten why he was sent to Washington,” remarked a patron included in the spot. “He’s been there too long.”

don't know much about the man, although I've heard through the grapevine in these parts that he is a stronger candidate than Ogo.
Before you get to heaven, you must go through hell, which in my case is the People's Republic of Massachusetts.
Jeff got 29% against Bill Delahunt in 2006 which was 4 points less than a candidate that raised $5000 did in 2004. Jim got 46% against Nikki Tsongas a candidate with 90% name ID in 2007.
Jeff raised through a direct mail firm $960K in 13 months from March 2007 to March 2008. He had $80,000 cash on hand.
Jim Ogonowski Raised $290K in 6 weeks from mid February to the end of March 2008 and had $145K cash on hand.
Jim Ogonowski is the Better "candidate" as he has a proven record of connecting with "all voters" in Massachusetts not just a narrow subset.
Why we have both of these candidates running for Senate, and not a single House candidate in MA, is beyond me.
If MA was just five points less Democratic, I would be somewhat optimistic, since voters have come to realize that Kerry really is a lightweight in the Senate. But it isn't, and I can't imagine that Kerry won't be able to nationalize this race, and take advantage of his huge monetary edge, to win yet another undistinguished term in the US Senate.
"No." Without a doubt, Ogonowski is the best candidate we have running for Senate this year (who is not an incumbent; and even some of them he is better than). And as this commercial demonstrates, he is this years Michael Steele, with great ads (the first one was good too).
Unfortunately, like Steele, he is running in a state that is just too conservative for him to win in (in a federal race).
Actually, he is running in a state that is just too liberal for him to win in (in a federal race). :)
I suggest you get in touch with some diehard Hillary fans in MA. They are absolutely mad, mad at Kerry's endorsement of Obama. Here's a place to go:
Operation Chaos Continues!
If only we could have more candidates this year like him.
Looks like he visited a few swamp yankees.

Is there another GOP candidate who appears to be stronger than Jim Ogonowski?
I love the ad!! John Kerry may well be retired this year if MA residents are getting tired of this clown.
