Romney Campaign Fundraising Innovation #323: Students for Mitt!

As Governor Romney is always wont to say: he wants to bring innovation to the government.

It looks like he's going to try his hand at campaign fundraising... again!

  • First, there was the savvy legal maneuvering with Romney's Commonwealth PAC that upset some writers at the Wall Street Journal.
  • Next the January 8th Fundraiser that brought in over $6.5 Million in 9 hours, from a single room of 400 friends and associates.
  • Instead of using the typical political mold of fundraising tools, the Romney campaign instead opted to use a modified commercial hosted application SalesForece.com
  • To incentivize fundraisers to get more visibility they created the Multi-level Marketing equivalent of "getting noticed". As a serious high-level fundraiser you can create your own "associated fundraisers" to increase donations and get credit for doing so

And now, we bring you innovation #323... Students for Mitt.

It goes something like this: If you are currently a student and want to earn from cash... spend your summer touting Mitt Romney instead of selling Pesticide. For everything to raise over $1000 you will get 10% back!

Legal has vetted this. For more information click on the graphic below:

It will be interesting to see how much money Mitt Romney ends up raising. With his business acumen, he could well blow the rest of the field out of the water. This shows why.

What next? by SteveLA

What's next for the Romney campaign, young, clean cut young men on bicycles with a "contribution can" attached?

Things that make you go hmmmm.
