Fellow Fredheads: Where do we go from here?

I'm sure everyone has his second choice. I think for me, it's Romney. I prefer Rudy but I no longer believe he's viable. I could be wrong though, it's been known to happen.
I really have no where else to go. It's a pity because I used to like John McCain. Then came McCain-Feingold. Then the Gang of 14. Then McCain-Kennedy. Enough! The only way I'll vote for McCain is if he wins our nomination but it's going to take one heck of a sales pitch to make me support him now.
So I'm curious to hear from other Fred Thompson supporters: Who will you be voting for now, and why?
We have early voting in Illinois. After I heard the announcement I drove to my city hall and voted for Fred. I have no second choice.
Our best hope as a party is that none of these candidates earn a majority of the delegates and we have an open convention.
None of the remaining candidates should be the nominee.
but what about November? I'm leaning toward Mickey Mouse. Mitt has learned to say the right things but all we have to go on is how he governed in Mass. which is a big worry. The rest are totally unacceptable to me. I'm a conservative FIRST and republican second. Gonna take a look at Lou Dobbs. Could be worse but right now I'm not sure how...
“If the game runs sometimes against us at home we must have patience till luck turns, and then we shall have an opportunity of winning back the principles we have lost, for this is a game where principles are at stake.” – Thomas Jefferson
Wow, what timing. I saw this just as I changed my sig to stump (***significantly*** less) for Mitt.
FredHeads: Now that Fred is done, let's give Mitt another look - though he has changed his standards, it is arguably a stand for the better.

Corrected. :)

Since it looks certain that Huck won't be around much longer (hooray!) I'll just vote for whoever is the most conservative candidate left in the race when Texas does its primary.
I still don't know how Romney was on crime during his tenure as governor in Mass because I haven't bothered to do any research as yet since I believed wholeheartedly that we'd have a President Fred.
My main issues are government spending, energy independence, the economy, defense and the war, and crime. I'll have to do some looking but at a superficial glance one of those two seem to be the choice for me.
Maybe Rudy, but while I'm not really a super-hardcore socon, there are too many people who are and those are the ones that actually carry out their threats to sit out elections. On the things I care about, gays and abortion don't even crack the top-10. I consider social things to be the icing on the cake, meaning you can pile all the icing you want on a turd but I'm still not going to eat it, while I'd eat a cake with not much icing at all. Anyhow, I don't think he'll be in the running by the time we get to Texas.
I guess that's maybe a long-winded way to say I don't know and don't want to think about it today and as long as it's not Huck I'll be happy.
One of the reasons that Fred got in electoral trouble was that many conservative rank and file did not believe that he was electable or viable (in your terminology). I kept seeing things like, "I agree with him, but I just don't think he could win the nomination." Well, not with supporters like that!
I don't agree with your choice, but doggoneit vote for the guy you agree with most!
We are going to "pragmatically" vote ourselves into oblivion.
I'm going to vote for Fred in the primary (write-in), lean toward Mitt getting to the general. I have the luxury of not voting until May, so mine will be a protest vote, anyway.
