But the real reason for Obama’s extraordinary freakout is that he fears the release of the videotape, reported here, of Michelle Obama in the pulpit of Rev. Jeremiah Wright’s church railing against “whitey.” And we don’t mean Whitey Ford. Four Republican sources have told me that the tape exists. I’ve also been informed that Karl Rove and his allies have a copy of it and are using it to raise funds for independent expenditure groups. The tape, I’m told, will be disclosed as the GOP October Surprise. It’s a ticking time bomb.

And I’ve learned that a right-wing Republican billionaire has put a $1 million bounty on the video. He doesn’t want John McCain to win, like a number of conservatives, and thinks Obama is a pathetically weak candidate. The billionaire wants that video released now.

MIchelle, we know these 'whitey' talk does not help your kids.

However, this truly would be curtains for Obama.

Those two comments as well as the dig that "conservatives" don't want McCain to win make this whole deal reek of lies. This sounds like a disgruntled Democrat who wants to see if he can get Republicans to be excited about playing the race card against Obama, then come back and call us "racists" for doing so.

scare the "super duper" delegates into not going with Obama...if there was such a tape it would already be out...and by the way all those October "surprises" have never come to fruition....I laugh when I hear that phrase....boogedy boogedy!!!

but it did take forever for the Wright tapes to see the light of the day. Also I did find his reaction to the TN GOP web ad to be a little oversensitive.

Here's my exchange with a freeper.

And there is a different tape with Michelle applauding the characterization of whitey as crackers. I found it because of something written by a well known neo-con. 1.48.14 into the tape is Michelle applauding the naming of whites as crackers.

I then asked how to download/view the tape, here's his/her response.

I know where it is and have the url. What about timing? I made a first post ten minutes ago and asked the freerepublic posters a question. I asked for advice about how to save the video from being deleted.
My post was not printed (it is being moderated). Please post the question for me. What is the procedure for saving a tape. Not at youtube.

I admit when I first heard the 'whitey' video story last week I figured it must be total BS but wouldn't it be nice? It's possible isn't it? But then Obama came out this weekend and laid down some new ground rules on 'how to run a campaign against Barack.'
Old rules: Don't question him about his record, his experience, his associates or anything directly related to anything Obama may have said or done.
New Rules: You can question Obama regarding anything, just lay off Michele. Interesting.
Could Obama be engaging in damage control before any alleged video surfaces-setting the stage that anyone who criticizes Michele will be demonized?

Obama's comment on it was weird by Illinicon

in a follow-up to the GMA interview he said something along the lines of anything she said about the campaign or policy was fair game. Well her "pride" remarks were about the campaign. She has said some dumb stuff on race before (see the 60 minutes interview) so even if this video does not exist, the odds of something coming out with her saying some un-PC stuff on race are about 50-50.
