I norrmally cut civilians a little slack in this regard, due to their lack of training on the subject. - but only a little slack. Elected officials, on the other hand, get no pass for such behavior. I expect them to know better. After getting heat for one fax paus, it would have behooved Sen Obama and his staffers to study-up on flag protocol.
