I have liked Ken Blackwell since I found out he was getting in to the race. I have read his columns for a long time. He actually not only endorsed the Rebuild the Party plan (which I saw Redstate.com endorsed also) but he also joined as a member, he actually interacted with members and answered his own email. I think that says a lot for respect to grassroots. I am tired of elitist and back room deals. I hope Ken Blackwell gets the job because he is a conservative and this is a very impressive list of people endorsing him. Also, I thought he handled the whole Chip Saltsman CD thing very well. I still think Chip Saltsman is a good guy and he did great things for Huckabee's campaign - especially with the technology - but I did not think that was too smart to send that CD out - I get why Rush had it on there and in context (a liberal was the one who inspired the song with the liberals L.A. Times words) it was funny in that sense.

I still think there are some great choices for RNC Chair but for me I think it should be:

KEN BLACKWELL FOR RNC CHAIRMAN ; )

Not the most valid of reasoning, but....

being from MI we are alot closer to some of the goings on in our neighboring State of OH.... and while I do not recall specifics, having worked with folks in/out of OH there is still something I do not like/trust with Blackwell... call it a personal/personality concern if nothing else... Wish I could put my finger on the specifics of what it was/is, memory ain't what it used to be ;-) , so while I find him "acceptable" based on current rhetoric, he is not my first choice... My first choices aren't anyone that would consider doing it (like perhaps, Kasich [sic?] out of Ohio, or say Dick Cheney, or Michael Reagen, or even Ted Nugent [provide a Charlton Heston injection like he did to/for NRA to the RNC] who may still be "persuaded" into running for MI Gov, some non-traditional thought/thinking/enthusiasm would be good IMHO...) so for now I'm still supporting Steele in spirit...

I used to like her a lot, but when she started going off into the moralist/economic populist (anti-free trade) reservation with Pat Buchanan. Her usage of fallacious arguments and agitprop to support these views also diminished her credibility, in my eyes. Others can have a different opinion, though.

Okay, threadjack over.

I have done more looking at him too. The more I find out about this guy, the more I like him too. So far, I am starting to pull for him too.

Jindal, Palin, Mike Williams.... we are starting to see some people who are very encouraging to the conservative movement. It is definitely something to build on and work towards in 2010.

Now to find these kinds of people locally too. We really need to discover people locally at home like these to build a foundation of the party.

County party meeting here later this month. I will be there.
