Another story from Global Security Newswire - http://gsn.nti.org/gsn/nw_20091105_8126.php  - seems to indicate that Obama is offerring the Russians whatever they want to get a new treaty so he can go to Oslo as the Great Peacemaker.

Defense technology has always been a great interest to me. I sleep well at night because the US is the pre-eminant technological military on earth. But that is a very fragile thing. Technology moves so rapidly it has been estimated that without proper investment the US could fall behind on many military technologies in as little as a half a generation.

The Russians and the Chinese are concerned/worried/scared by our ability to produce the “weapons of tomorrow” so always try to prevent us obtaining any defensive advantage. While it started decades ago the most recent example is the elimination of the Polish ground based interceptor. These weapons were “given away” on the alter of diplomacy. Let me be clear - to coin an Obama often used phrase - these were purely defensive weapons that were absolutely no threat to Russia. Yet Russia told Obama they were destabalizing and one Russian general said the “US might secretly put nuclear warheads on them and surprise attack the Russians”, really?  The end result as we all know is that the weapons won’t be deployed and the US and it’s allies are less safe because of this decision.

Now onto stage two of the continued “weakening of a superpower program”. Some background. Back in the 80’s and 90’s as ballistic missiles became more accurate it was speculated that the “Holy Grail” of technology would be the ability to mount conventional, not nuclear, warheads on Submarine Launched and Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles. The advantages are obvious. The theory was, what if Iran or North Korea was fueling s missile with a nuclear warhead aimed at Tel Aviv or Tokyo. The President’s only response to the threat - that would get there is time - was a “nuclear” armed missile. It was a choice nobody wanted to have as their only choice.

Therefore the US began to work in earnest on what it termed ”Conventional Prompt Global Strike” weapons. Basically you could take out the North Korean missile without using a nuke. Also, if you were wrong and the enemy missile was only conventional, well the US only used a conventional response, again, much better than a nuke.

So now from today’s Global Security Newswire we find out that the Russians want to include this very promising defensive technology in the latest “dangerously rushed” disarmament treaty (link here - http://gsn.nti.org/gsn/nw_20091103_3088.php ).  The Russians also have said that “We really want Obama to have this treaty before he gives his Nobel Prize speech.”

So I ask the readers at Redstate, “Do you think Obama would trade US security for the chance to look good on the world stage”?

I have worked elections in Canada and I will pass on a story that seems to be repeated in races around the US by the dozens.

I volunteered to help try and defeat a member of the Canadian Parliament who routinely won her seat by less than 200 votes. We worked very hard and on election night were leading THE ENTIRE NIGHT.

There were three polls (think precincts) still to count. All the other polls were split about 51% to 49% for either candidate. Because some larger polls went our way we were up by about 300 votes. A veteran volunteer whispered that we still might lose because those last three polls were downtown polls where the homeless shelters and soup kitchens were. She added that the incumbant wanted to make sure she KNEW HOW MANY VOTES SHE NEEDED TO WIN.

What the incumbant candidate did was register university students and the homeless at those addresses. Sounds like park benches in Ohio. Sure enough the results came in and the incumbant won those polls 90% to 10% and won by 100 votes.

My observation from last night; Why is it almost ALWAYS the Democrat controlled precincts that are last to count and miracle of miracles they overcome a small Republican lead everytime, ARE THEY WAITING TO SEE HOW MANY VOTES THEY NEED?

The other item I would like to bring to everyone attention is that someone should do a study on the voting habits of immigrants. For example:

1) Since 1988 how many immigrants have become citizens with the right to vote?
2) What are their voting habits Democrat or Republican?

Clinton/Gore naturalized 3 milllion new citizens in 2000 alone. So over the last 20 years even at 1 million a year that is 20 million new voters. Split 65 to 35% gives the Dems 13 million new voters to 7 million for the Republicans. Six million vote spread, now look at how much Obama won the popular vote by as well as how close some battleground states were. You combine this with ACORN and it is easy to see how an election can be stolen.

There are 16 million ilegals waiting for amnesty WHO DO YOU THINK THEY WILL THANK AT THE VOTING BOTH IN 2012?

Maybe I should not admit this but from time to time I go to the website Rense.com. When I first was redirected there it was concerning a
“secret Area 51 aircraft” (I have an interet in high tech military hardware)and honestly the only reason I go to the site, really I promise.

To make a long story short the site contains a lot of tin foil hat stuff, a lot of big government is listening bs. Mind control chemicals in the atmosphere, etc.

Lately some of the posts have attacked Obama as the embodiment of Big Brotherness. Many stories talk of his Marxism and his associations, much more than the main stream press has, and the articles are actually thoughful in many ways. While I warn this site is definately weird/different - there are also “Jewish banker/Illuminatti run the world” conspriacy crazies.

I guess the reason for this post is that if they can figure Obama out why can’t the rest of the people?

Obama is now saying he is only taxing people who make over $250,000/year and when he asks people at rally’s to raise their hands if they make this much (he should be concerned that with his wealth hating followers that he might be inviting muggings) HARDLY ANYONE DOES.

While his message is “don’t worry you won’t be affected”, the opposite side of that coin is that if hardly anyone makes $250,000/year you are not going to get much tax from them to pay for your trillions in spending.

So what happens is that government had to reach to a lower tax bracket.

Now how McCain ties this in to rallies is to repeat the above but then say Obama has plans to raise capital gains taxes, dividends, etc.

You need to convince the people that it will be only the beginning of the tax increases.

I will use the term real Americans. Real Americans understand what Joe represents “upward mobility is possible in the greatest country on earth” Democrats and the left believe in a permanent underclass that needs the governments permanent help. In fact their programs help make their problems worse.

They scoff at Joes dream. one commentator called it a fantasy even. Do we remember Bill Gates in a garage start up now the weathiest man on earth. Apple computer, and thousands of other examples.

I used to be a business banker I have seen many times over and over someone who made $50,000/year grow that to $500,000/year. But they worked 80 hours a week and fought hard for every penny.

I respect the Joes who dream about being richer tomorrow than they are today, our economic system depends on them.

I have never seen uglier more obese people in my life. They are mouth breathers that are attracted to the “give me some money” message of the Democrats. I can guarantee that these idiots not only have no idea as to the contents of the Constitution they might not even know there is a Constitution.

These people are not the inventors or entrepreneurs of tomorrow they are the daily complainers. My job sucks, my boss sucks, I don’t get paid enough. I have known some of these people and all they care about it getting something for nothing.

I was listening to POTUS 08 on XM radio, supposed to be neutral coverage. All the reporters were talking about how the economic crisis is hurting Republicans at the polls. Now while that may be true no one talked about that it might be the Democrats and what happened with fannie and freddie.

I am so tired of everything being the Republicans fault while gettng no credit for anything. Keeping the nation safe, as Hillary said “we” are all responsible for that.

My suggestion is that no matter the short term cost to Republicans that they take on the not just the Dems but THEY HAVE TO TAKE ON THE MEDIA. Meaning they have to dispute the premise of every question.

The media is great at having a Democrat and Republican with the following line of questioning

to the Dem “Why is the current economic crisis the Republicans fault?”
to the Republican “Why is it your fault?”

If I can recognize the threat to the great US from the leftists why can’t everyone else. Looking from the outside in America is the greatest country in history.

We look out at the next election and cannot believe what we see. This is the culmanation of 60 years of socialism and marxist indoctrination of at least 50.1% of the electorate.

It might not be new but I just saw an Obama ad about how he was taught as a child about how great America is, about self reliance and working hard. What a crock of S&*t.

I was recently talking to a conservative friend about why it is more important to be grounded in political philosophy rather than with the individuals who make up a particular political party. This gives you the ability to stay true to policy and not be part of the “cult of personality” mostly seen on the left.

I agree wholeheartedly with political analysts like Sean Hannity and Rush Limbaugh, they are conservatives not Republicans. More often than not (a debateable point) conservatives can be found in the Republican Party, they are not found in the Democrat Party.

Once you develop a conservative policy platform for yourself it can be very liberating and intellectually honest. I oppose Pres. Bush for expanding Medicare benefits to prescription drugs. I support his tax cutting agenda.

Reagan said it best when he stated the he did not leave the Democratic Party the party left him. The debate between philosophy and party is hurting the Republicans because conservatives are much more apt to vote on conservatism, the left will vote Democrat no matter what.

This internal struggle will always be the achilles heel of the right to the benefit of the left. If the left only get half of their agenda they still win, if the right get half of their agenda they still lose (e.g. the Medicare/tax cuts mentioned above, government still expands in either case)

I have seen time and again the right getting in power and then compromising a conservative philosophy to “win another 5% of the electorate”. They see a “permanent majority” with winning the extra 5% of voters. They always forget that “winning” this extra 5% comes at a cost of a losing the base. The right makes the mistake time and again that “the base will always support us” as if conservatives are the “always vote for a Democrat left”.

The solution is a hard and difficult one to make, mainly, be in the minority and WIN the extra 5% by convincing them to adopt a conservative philosophy (Reagan and Thatcher come to mind) Or as we have seen since 2000; co-opt the conservative philosophy and get your butts kicked and then regroup by saying we really need to co-opt conservatism (hello David Brooks) and await Pres. Obama and possibly a veto proof Senate…..Happy Days are here again!!!

Can someone at Redstate please tell the McCain campaign to tie energy independence to jobs and yes even union jobs and yes high paying jobs that cannot be outsourced.

Energy independence activity in the US mainly clean coal, natural gas, oil and nuclear energy is the solution to almost all problems facing the US today.

1) Energy Independence (obviously) reducing energy prices, means
2) Economic growth
3) Jobs
4) Inceased tax receipts reduces the deficit
5) Stock market goes up
6) National Security

As importantly you can call Obama/Biden and the Dems on their opposition to domestic energy production and then tie the fact that this opposition to all the above points.

I make this diary post as I have just listened to McCain and Palin talk about energy independence without making the tie in to all the other points.

For the Dems it is always about the economy when their candidate is an anti-military, foreign policy light weight. I just finished watching McCain/Palin on Hannity and Colmes. When they talked about Ayers and Obama’s judgement I said to myself “Obama is close to being the Commander in Chief of the greatest military in the world” Oh my God that cannot happen America

I just saw Rich Lowry and some Obama spokeman in Fox. The Obama guy was out of control, he was so mad and he did not stop talking over everyone so Rich could not get a point in.

What I fear from these types of displays from people who would end up in an Obama administration is that YOU CAN TELL THEY HATE US. I think you would have four years of reprisals - think Clinton and the FBI files X1000.

I look on in amazement at the Dem talking heads that come on after debates and other such events. They are such whiney complaining wimps. Obama’s communication director is calling Sean Hannity anti-semitic because ha had an anti-semite on a tv show. I was educated in the US, during those four yesr of college I grew to love your country. The optimism, the can-do spirit, the sky was the limit for everyone. It was a big change from Canada where big government socialism had seemingly depressed everyone’s dreams.

What happened America. If you elect Obama and more Dems to Congress you have given up the nation to socialists, it is that simple.

Freedom used to mean everything, now you want the government to pay for your $400,000 house and give you healthcare for “free”, cut defense spending so your social security and medicare is protected. The citizens demand freedom….from themselves, from disappointment, from unhappiness and stupidly enough you want the federal government to supply the happiness. The institution that has brought you the misery in the first place.

The perfect analogy is the addict’s relationship with the drug dealer. You believe they are the one’s that can make you feel good while the body and mind slowly rots away.

This is Reagan/Mondale although Mondale is a centrist compared to Obama, it should be a fifty state sweep (DC will still vote Obama).
