Virginia’s General Election is Underway

Yesterday, Virginia Democrats selected Creigh Deeds as their nominee for this year’s gubernatorial campaign. I congratulate Creigh on his victory. While I had held out hope for a contentious and drawn out recount it doesn’t look like that will happen! Now, the general election is underway. I’m looking forward to it. And, no matter what state you call home, I hope you are too.

We are running a positive, issues-driven campaign here in Virginia. We are the campaign of “Yes.” We are saying yes to new jobs, yes to offshore drilling, yes to a worker’s right to a secret ballot, yes to greater choice in our public schools, yes to spending restraint and yes to greater transparency in our state government. Voters are responding. We are met by great crowds at every campaign stop. This is a campaign with momentum. Now I’d like to ask for your help in keeping it going.

Please visit www.BobMcDonnell.com to learn more about our campaign. If you can, we’d be honored to receive a small donation.  Sign up for our email list. Pass on information to your friends. Virginia, and America, faces tremendous challenges right now. Voters are looking for candidates with solutions. I’m running a campaign of solutions that are based in our shared conservative philosophy.

This election is about Virginia. But I know that they eyes of the nation are on us. I hope you’ll take a minute to check out our campaign, read up about our proposals, and get involved in our effort to implement common-sense conservative solutions that will create new jobs and more opportunities all across Virginia. Today my campaign launched an effort to raise 20k online , can you help us reach this goal?

Thank you.

I can’t put into words how pleased I am that McAuliffe lost the primary. The man is a cockroach personified.

This is yet another example of Conservative Republicans versus the pretender CINO style Democrats and whether or not people are going to allow themselves to continue to be duped by lying CINO/PLINO/Blue-Dog Democrats that do NOT uphold any Conservative values/principles once elected.

    [from Conservative Candidates (the Diary)]
the “Republican Revolution” of the 90′s was mis-labeled, it was really the “CONSERVATIVE Revolution” and it brought Republicans to power; likewise, it was the “Reagan Conservative” Revolution, not a Republican Revolution. Many Republicans forgot that along the way. That led the way for CINO Democrats to lie their way back into power, but it was a “Conservative” co-opted (read: they lied about their intent) that voters allowed themselves to be duped into. Republicans need to REMEMBER that! Conservatism did NOT lose Elections, bad Politicians (with R’s beside their name) did!

Daniel Hannan (British MEP) – mbecker’s: What the Leader of the Republican Party should sound like! Productive vs non-Productive sectors of the Economy same here as in UK.

As a resident of Virginia, I am very excited about your positive, forwarding thinking plans for the Commonwealth.

You have served Virginia well for many years and I know that you are going to make an outstanding Governor.

    Go Bob Go!!!

Less Name recognition means less baggage and harder to beat. McAuliffe has a big mouth and is weel known,Moran brother is Jim”Dummy” Moran, but Mr Deeds seems low key and unknown. He doesn’t hold a statewide office and only a state senator. It seems like Dems here in Texas running an little known person like Chris Bell and still geting 30% of a 4 way race

it has to be true since that came from an ACORN rep.

which, of course, my way of making the point that we not only have to over-come the BLUE-ism trend (waiting on the Baracklash [h/t to scarlos for that]) but have to deal with ACORN that will be looking to infect yet more location’s Elections in 2010 and 2012.

Virginians have fallen for it four times lately with M. Warner X 2 (Governor and Senate), Webb, and Kaine. Hopefully, this time, the good people of the Commonwealth will wise up.
