I am a sucker for sci-fi and have been looking forward to ABC’s revamp of the 1980’s campy classic miniseries “V” for some time now, but something beyond entertainment caught my attention in this fall preview clip. Check out the specific phrases that come one after another about midway through the clip and then of course there is the interview scene.

To the youth:
“Youth obsessed with the “V”s” (1:41)
“The “V”s, they call it spreading hope” (1:47)
To the media:
“Just be sure not to ask anything that would cast us in a negative light” (1:52)
“Embracing change is never easy” (2:15)
To the general populace:
I will heal you, and you will have no pain. (1:01)
We are your saviors and expect your devotion. (2:02)

Hilarious! Is it possible ABC is experiencing a conflict between the unconscious desire of its news outlet to actually return to journalism and the conscious actions that have turned it into a state propaganda outlet… maybe “V” is a symptomatic reaction from the entertainment group, a serial Freudian slip (Obamian)? A regret by those that “were too quick to jump on the bandwagon…” without examining the facts. (1:21)

Yes maybe I have gone mental, no doubt overanalyzing the whole affair because of the recent rapid fire misconduct exposures, viral school indoctrination videos, Obama on the tube 24/7, and an elitist administration that “knows what is best” for us common humans (2:03). Come show time though, and these key phrases have been mysteriously sanitized… I’m going underground!

Flash forward: late tonight watching recap of Sunday politics…

Wrapping my tinfoil hat even tighter with trepidation- watching yet another speech by the President, I cannot help but think there is a reptilian glint in his eye? (Cue the Vincent Price “Thriller” laugh)

Ask a Democrat or their media sympathizers about GM- what gives them the right? About cap and trade- what are you willing to sacrifice for junk science… job, lifestyle, and our security? About health reform- how are you REALLY going to pay for it? Whatever your issue is with the fiscally irresponsible, ill-managed, power grabbing policies of the current administration it’s more than likely you will not get an answer.

Instead you will be called a racist.

The reason for this is they can no longer rationally and logically defend their actions on any of these issues without outright dishonesty- and you know what happens when you mention this. The campaign era of good feeling is gone, the main stream media ramparts have been breached or circumvented, and a solid majority leaves no scapegoats- the only thing they have left is the race card.

The race card strategy is a good one, they play it because in these days of dog whistles, microagression, and the ability of the left to see into a man’s soul there is no way to defend against it. No facts or proof necessary- just play the card and forget the issue because racism is now the subject.

If you don’t want to play this game that often becomes a circular firing squad where racism didn’t exist and by nature of the argument it suddenly does, then employ the new BBK rule.

Make them say Uno!. That’s right, if they are down to playing their final card that is designed to end the game- then make them say so. Just like in the card game where you win by playing your last card, make them say Uno (or Unobama).

If the Democrats are not going to talk about the fiscal irresponsibility, the flailing economy, unemployment (jobs, jobs, jobs), deficit spending or gross government overreach and instead want to talk about racism- then make them declare it. If they refuse- then say it for them.

Say Uno and walk away.

John Kerry started the ball rolling, calling it the “the wrong war in the wrong place at the wrong time”. It’s been a common theme over the better part of the War in Iraq, from Harry “the war is lost” Reid to Nancy “(the war) is a failure” Pelosi, Democrats have been firmly entrenched in the defeatist/blame America camp.

Obama took his cue from Kerry and started talking about the “right war”, you know the one in Pakistan… errr, I mean Afghanistan against Al Qaeda… I mean the Taliban… wait, no, the drug lords who finance them? Now we find ourselves in an overseas contingency operation trying to stave off man-made disasters through the gallant efforts of our globe trotting Apologizer in Chief. There is a reason why the enemy has always been a vague subject for the Obama camp- for like Pogo, they already know the enemy, and he is us.

Target identified!

Really, is there a brain cell functioning properly in the Obama White House?

The ultimate Democrat double entendre, the War on Intelligence is a combat operation liberal politicians, leftist fanatics, apologists and the press can finally get behind!

I got fired up at the Redstate gathering.

Leaving Atlanta, I felt as an elite warrior uniquely skilled to fight the progressive hordes threatening our nation. One of the Spartans, with a fierce grimace I intended to draw a line in the sand and hold my ground until the rest of the nation came to their senses and marshaled the voting forces to oust the enemy in 2010 and following elections.

Then Monday slammed me. I work hard, very hard at my job and travel constantly. I am also writing a book, updating a blog nightly, and contribute an immense amount of time as a recovery and treatment advocate and volunteer. Creeping at first, then utter certainty- deep in my heart I knew that I just didn’t have the time and for that matter the skill to make a huge difference in this very important struggle. There will be no Twitter tutorials for BBK, I hate Facebook and pray for the day it becomes passé, and I just don’t have the temperment nor the stomach to go toe to toe on a daily basis with our political foes.

I hate to say it, but in this battle I’m more kitten than Spartan.

But there is a way I can still make a difference- and that is to help outfit those that do have the unique skill set to wage this battle effectively. I’m no George Soros, quite the opposite in fact, but I am no stranger to sacrifice or frugality and have come up with a relatively large contribution. So I’m sending $300 to Caleb Howe, yall might know him as absentee at Redstate. He has already made an impressive stand, and is now going on the offensive… but he needs our support!

So if you want to make a real difference yet are like me and realistically know that any personal contribution will be limited in it’s scope or effectiveness- help me outfit Caleb or one of our many other Redstate Spartans. If you want to get in this fight, if you want to roar like a lion instead of mewling like a little kitten, dig deep and help our guys get in the fight!

As much as they would like to rewrite it, Democrats have a rich history of standing in the doorway in an effort to block those that are “different”. Do they not see the similarities of an ugly past when they turn town halls into union and ACORN only affairs or realize the sad irony in having a separate door for the “mob”? As bought and paid for Democrat agents beat protestors while hurling racial epithets- majority leaders and their leashed press disparage the greater part of the nation as un-American, racist, and just plain stupid.

I think it’s high time for a visual “teachable moment” to the POTUS, majority party, and the press.

Like a perverted political version of Jeff Foxworth’s “You might be a redneck if…” bit, the current leftist line on manufactured anger and astroturfing would be hysterically funny if delivered by a comedian- but is absolutely terrifying coming from the Democrat majority and its propaganda bureau. In an astounding, bipolar reversal from six months ago, both of these outlets of ignorance have switched from saying that community organizing and grassroots activism is a moral and patriotic duty to now claiming it is nothing more than corporate cronyism and tantamount to treason.

In light of the current state of affairs, I doubt Mr. Foxworthy would mind if I used his formula to highlight some of the more ridiculous Democrat assertions:

You might be a grassroots activist if… you are a member of a tax payer funded special interest group under criminal investigation with close ties to the POTUS.

You might have the right to protest… if you are not a legal citizen and support a racially motivated reqonquista.

You might be a protector of voter rights… if you stalk the polls dressed in a paramilitary uniform brandishing a weapon.

You might be a Democrat if… when the lies fail to persuade you resort to violence.

Long gone are the days of patriotic dissent and the holy pontification of community organizers, if one examines the new Democrat standards it would be safe to assume that they now feel that Jesus was a corporate shill.

Have you read this letter? It’s absolutely comical, not even written on real letterhead or even deemed valid by those who signed it. Slipped up under the door of staffers two weeks after the fact it might as well have been left taped to the congressional refrigerator… a note, not an official communication. It’s a ridiculous sham, Republicans not privy to the (D) break room gossip had to get the details from the press! Supporters of Pelosi are touting the letter written by seven Democratic members of the Intelligence Committee as proof of CIA malfeasance and that Pelosi was lied to by the agency about interrogation tactics.

The letter, released by the lawmakers yesterday, didn’t describe what Central Intelligence Agency actions were at issue. ~ Yahoo News

For all I know the subject here could be about misleading Congress on an expense report- it may have been a night at Cheetahs instead of a working lunch at the Depot. This news release is nothing but a smoke screen written not by Panetta, but Democrat enablers trying to provide CYA for Pelosi.

This letter should be ridiculed by the press and those that have signed it should publicly apologize for trying to pass off such a juvenile ruse.

Serious note: Democrat Congressional Refrigerator Notes (DCRN’s) should not be confused with the more official Democrat Freezer Notes (C-Notes) used by Congressman William Jefferson (D).

Just as soon as I saw news of Palin’s announcement I knew it was coming. Finished. Kaput. Time to move on. Terms of the absolute issued not by the press and lefty pundits, but our own side. Maybe it’s just me- but it seems that with any mention of a possible chink in the armor of a prominent Republican, instead of tightening ranks we will push our wounded comrade out front into the melee. Rushing to be first to proclaim, “she/he’s not one of us” or “already written off”… as if by beating the media to the inevitable punch we will somehow be rewarded.

I blame it on the progressively biased and now downright partisan nature of the media; we have become gun-shy, cowering at the mere thought of a confrontation. No doubt we are well trained Republicans… and no I don’t have a mouse in my pocket. It is an unfortunate trait we all share at least to some degree. It doesn’t matter that we have a President mentored by a racist bigot, with a past that includes a cast of dubious natured characters ranging from convicted felons to unrepentant terrorists- nor does the fact that our rival party has a race exclusive caucus, a known murderer, and a past clansman among its ranks. The buffoonish Speaker has repeatedly and unabashedly lied and beclowned herself in front of the press and American public and the Senate Majority Leader issued a preemptive surrender… and yet we walk on eggshells lest we be labeled racist, partisan, or for dear sake even patriotic!

I am not here to say that we stand up in unison and declare Palin our glorious leader- this is not Highlander, and until the primaries there can be more than one. In fact, we darn better be sure that we have several seeing how the odds are being stacked against us. What harm in there is to wish her well without the inevitable “but”… Instead push the positive what-if-she-becomes like fundraiser, talk show host, VP candidate, or yes even top of the ticket- that is the thing to do. No one can deny she is formidable. Enough to intimidate the Left so much that they miss the irony in the fact that they can not seem to stop talking about her insignificance. I like talking about her just because she irritates them so badly, why should we want to marginalize her?

Two things I want to make sure happen in the struggle ahead. One is that our 2010 candidates are not afraid to speak clearly and without reservation on conservative values and against the Democrat agenda of socialized health care, global warming power grabs, and unrestrained spending. They must know we will guard their backs regardless of how the media comes down on them, and that starts here with not speaking ill of one of the few Republicans brave enough to speak out and fight back. This will ultimately affect my second concern, the emergence of the 2012 front runner. Will we have a bold candidate with full grassroots support, that has the leadership and charisma to strengthen and expand the party, or will we once again enable mediocrity and end up promoting a plain vanilla candidate?

Concerning the recent actions of Sarah Palin, regardless of her motives she has my support. There is no such thing as a flawless leader, at least not human- so let’s stop pretending they exist and fight for those that at least try. No matter what Sarah Palin has said or done over the last year, she has been absolutely excoriated by the press and pundits. No one in the party – not even her running mate has had the cajones to stand up for this Republican not bashful about promoting a thoroughly conservative agenda. So her response to these largely unfair attacks has registered only as a lone, faint sound amongst a vitriolic roar sometimes muted all-together by the friendly fire of 2008 campaign handlers or the restraints of her office.

Now that is she is free of the reins of office and no longer beholding to a campaign of mediocrity, I for one do not intend to abandon her. In fact, I will pledge my support if she continues fighting for the cause of conservatism and has taken this unorthodox action of leaving office as a preemptive strike considering the recent tactics of the state enamored media. Talk show host, public speaker, or candidate in 2012- she still has a great role to play in the future and she needs our support.

I have not forgot the story from just a few months back, Gingrich says Palin has head start in 2012 in which the sage former House Speaker said that Palin could become a potential front runner with the right preparation.

He said Palin is “very formidable,” and suggested the Alaska governor spend time developing “fairly sophisticated positions” on a range of issues… “Palin starts in Iowa with a substantial base,” said Gingrich, who also noted how important the Iowa caucuses have proven to be in presidential campaigns.

Could this be the direction she is taking? I don’t really know but I certainly don’t intend to speculate anything counterproductive to conservatives or the R brand- the press will be handling that quite nicely without my help.

One more thing to keep in mind, let’s not be just so eager to eat our own like the rank and file Republicans I’m so eager to disown. Let the press run with the negative storyline of recent events, I personally intend to start a positive narrative. That her new found freedom will allow her to excite the base, a chance to push the conservative agenda, maybe even mention the fact that a Gingrich/Palin ticket has a very nice ring to it.

I don’t think that's the distant drum beat of June pride parades we are beginning to hear, but instead it just might be the gay guns of secession firing on Obama’s Fort Sumter.

Even though the fawning media and rObots are always quick to mention that President Obama is a constitutional scholar, I’ve always thought the title a gross exaggeration considering he went unpublished as President of the Harvard Law Review and produced no original scholarly works in the field.

This month he proved me wrong.

You see, the President was in quandary trying to figure out how to put to rest some of these fantastical campaign promises such as repealing DOMA and Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell. How does he appease yet another disgruntled voting bloc (LGBT) without alienating at least three others (blacks, moderates, and blue dawgs) not to mention the majority of voters in every state the gay marriage issue has been put to a vote? Declaring June LGBT Pride Month was not a substantial enough smoke screen to cover his backing off of campaign commitments to defend DOMA.

He needed more, and this is what he delivered:

“Many of our government’s hard-working and dedicated, patriotic public servants have long been denied basic rights that their colleagues enjoy, for one simple reason: The people they love are of the same sex,”… Still, Obama noted that by law, the government cannot grant gay couples the same range of benefits afforded to heterosexual couples. ~ Washington Post

Give those “other persons” a portion of benefits as if they don’t really deserve the full dose, how did he decide to take such a “measured” action? Maybe it was his scholarly pursuit that I had once so scoffed that guided him to this solution. He seemed to take his inspiration from a part of the United States Constitution itself, albeit one better off left in its disreputable place in American history he found in Article 1, Section 2, Paragraph 3:

Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons.

What a grand compromise! Obama has always said that marriage should be between a man and a woman, yet the LGBT went ahead and voted for him in droves. Taking a cue from constitutional history the President thinks he has figured out how to appease this very vocal voting bloc while still managing his larger moderate base by treating the LGBT as those “other persons”.

Will they be satisfied with a fraction of the benefits afforded to the LWHC (Legally Wedded Heterosexual Couples)?

I don’t think that’s the distant drum beat of June pride parades we are beginning to hear, but instead it just might be the gay guns of secession firing on Obama’s Fort Sumter.

As journalists reported in lockstep with historic hyperbole all week on yet another electronically scrolled speech delivered by President Obama, it made me wonder how his actions not just his words will stand up to the test of time and the scrutiny of historians. My guess, barring (possibly even with) the ever growing chance of a catastrophic WMD enhanced terrorist event, is that he will be viewed as a President of soaring rhetoric and little action, a man of pretty words and a lot of hot air.

Lecturing audiences with conciliatory platitudes from the podium, he still sounds more like the community organizer in Chicago explaining what could be rather than a leader that can make it happen. A man eager to be praised for his vision, Barack Obama is an attention monger adept at peddling both at home and abroad his Big Shtick Diplomacy that he has been polishing since the 2004 Democratic National Convention.

Even his rabid lefty base is having a hard time ignoring the continuing military commissions, troop deployments, and the installation of new lobbyist troughs that are a polar contradiction to his campaign rhetoric. His speeches- promises of hope and change that while inspiring have been so far completely vacuous. Each one specifically tailored not for truth or purpose, but for political and personal adulation. How soon will it be before the distracting new President smell wears off and the hungrier journalists not fattened on Bair Force One fare begin to detect the absence of leadership and lack of any substance or follow-through?

Ignoring the history he seems so eager to make, his lack of intelligent forethought before making inflammatory statements and proffering dreadfully decisive legislation virtually assures more than just one future crisis. In the near future I predict his sunshine bi-partisan allies and even some party congressional stalwarts will start to gravitate away as we near the upcoming elections being more interested in survival than promoting a tax scheme that punishes both wage earners and the economy. His foreign diplomacy? Well let’s face it, all carrot and no stick leaves you stranded with no carrots and bag of full of severed head videos. Going around the world speaking apologetically and delivering his big shtick is the stuff of college classrooms and liberal blogs, not realpolitik- he’s doomed for failure.

Already his supporters in the media do their best to avoid the fact that his only real accomplishments so far have been to marginalize the real strength of his party while surrounding himself with mediocrity. And then there is the almost not worth mentioning little thing about quadrupling the national deficit (now that’s historic!)… but at least he looked good on TV while doing it.

During the elections it was obvious that our media had let us down, taking sides instead of seeking the truth. Now it will be up to those that report on the past to point out the obvious, that history does indeed repeat itself. Barack Obama was a community organizer, and after three years in charge of his organization in Chicago his success was measured not in deeds, but instead by the fact that he ballooned the size of his organization and increased spending exponentially. Results? Top ranking in murder and substance abuse still maintained to this day.

Obama has quickly jumped from one job to another without accountability, each with a bigger budget while playing up his Big Shtick Diplomacy to the applause of an ever growing audience. What happens now when there is no “next job” and bigger budget?

The constant hate mongering by Democrat leadership and network sycophants most likely has played a very large role in the recent killing of a soldier just out of basic training. There can be no doubt that the constant accusations of lies, terrorist tactics, torture and brutality- year after year- even going so far as calling our troops cold blooded murders must have incited this man to violence. Even MSNBC agrees, suggesting political motive to blame in military office shooting in their predictably muted coverage of this tragic event.

Not that I really believe this, a loon is a loon. But surely the MSM, lefty blogs, and yes maybe even some of those in the Department of Homeland Security that are so keen on blaming pro-life groups, talk radio, and single issue voters for the murder of George Tiller must have no choice but come to this conclusion. Using their lefty logic, no doubt these groups will shortly demand that these Democrat leaders and their pet talking heads be held accountable for their extreme rhetoric and hate propaganda… but I am not holding my breath.

In her latest opinion piece, CNN senior political analyst Gloria Borger sees an unconventional President that can do no wrong turning a controversial visit to Notre Dame into a “teachable moment”. I have a hard time placing too much credibility in the opinion of this Obama sycophant when she refers to the issue of abortion- as a mundane political imbroglio. Mundane? This comes from the same journalist who feels that the most important quote to come from his speech at a religious school is when he told students that “the ultimate irony of faith is that it necessarily admits doubt.”

Maybe she thinks morality, faith, religion, righteousness and justice are “just words” that impassion the masses, that they have no true meaning or purpose other than as tools of the informed progressive elite. She probably misinterpreted her idol-in-chief, thinking he subtly hinted to the graduating rubes that maybe their faith was misplaced… me personally, I think it was an apology from a man struggling with his own.

Obama certainly solidified his candidacy back in 2008 with his “Just Words” speech in response to concern he was all talk; so far though, his actions as President have done nothing but validate the hot air allegation. But from Ms Borger’s account of his presidency to date, apparently she is more than satisfied with just words- as long as they are his. Whether it is Guantanamo Bay, military tribunals, transparency, or bipartisanship- all the promises of the campaign trail on which Obama has already reneged, she merely describes as unconventional. Then she praises him for stirring the pot and stimulating debate, in reality not exactly high praise when describing the leader of the free world… maybe he will go down in history as the great moderator.

I guess for me the Obama experience in general has been a teachable moment. I have learned that much of the nation and most of the press are indeed satisfied with just words. The administration proves this time and time again by not only saying one thing and doing another, but also by renaming things like human caused disasters and overseas contingency operations in the spirit of change- no real action taken one way or another, these are just words yet they are applauded as great feats. The democrat congress is no different, confident that the drivel they spew on the floor and in front of the camera will bear no consequences- the lies and the aimed blame; after all, they are just words.

This however does not bode well for the long term reign of the democrats; while their constituency may be content with just words, they are not exactly inspired. I might go as far to say that instead they are hesitant, even afraid, to look too closely at their leaders lest they become disappointed. Blaming Bush is old hat, preening about how good it could be isn’t quite as inspiring when you are asked to pay the tab, and the war and security policies of the past administration are not only being validated but reinforced. What’s to get fired up about these days? Conservatives however are organizing, and moderates across the board are shaking the hope and change fairy dust out of their eyes- we know everything has been “just words”, and it has made us furious!

It’s old news that Speaker Pelosi’s latest antics (lies) on the subject of interrogation have been so over the top that even the lefty comedy news shows have targeted her, but it may be an ill omen for Democrats in how exactly they have attacked. Skits from shows like The Daily Show and The Colbert Report have been fairly formulaic during the Bush administration- taking various video clips out of context and inserting them into funny interviews or fake reports. Notice in the video above though that Stewart doesn’t take anything out of context nor does he use any misdirection, in fact he just reports the news. Nancy does all the work.

It will be interesting in the coming years as hope and change wanes into shameful same under different name to see if the trend continues. I have no doubt that SNL could add a laugh track to Pelosi’s latest press conference and just forego hiring a celebrity for the opening dialogue- actually the laugh track might not be necessary. Comedy writers all across the country are checking out the help wanted ads knowing that over the next couple of years that masters of beclownment like Nancy Pelosi, Harry Reid, Maxine Waters, Barney Frank, and don’t forget Joe Biden could make their services no longer necessary.

The Obama campaign has launched an aggressive campaign for religious voters with a slogan “Believers for Barack” that for decency’s sake I hope is just an unintentional double entendre for the candidate often punned as a political messiah. Regardless of intent, I think the anointed one should think twice before making a push to remind voters of their religious values and morality and not to mention his behind the scenes condescension of their faith.

Catholics have been a prime target of this campaign but the token inclusion of Senator Robert Casey Jr. at the convention has shown little effect in luring Catholic voters back to the party that has become militantly pro-abortion- it’s doubtful a new slogan will do much better. Sure, you will see the chosen few of the far left flashing their support and the sockpuppetry will be rampant, but I doubt this will be a bumper sticker slogan many will proudly display. A less honest but smarter strategy for Obama to gain the religious vote may be similar to a don’t ask don’t tell policy where voters would not be reminded of the stark contradiction between the views of this candidate and those of their church.

More below the fold…

Nowhere is the hypocrisy of this message, especially for Catholics, more apparent than in this button that equates pro-family values with support for Obama. This is the same man who has a 100% NARAL approved voting record including the four times he voted in the Illinois Senate to deny medical care to babies that have survived an abortion. This is not a button you will see Gianna Jessen wearing.

If Obama is successful in reminding his followers of their beliefs, many just might begin to stray from the flock which has been the recent trend for the pro-abortion party. The sign may say “Believers for Barack”, but probably the only ones you will see displaying it will be believers OF Barack because for many it will become beliefs OR Barack.

What’s worse? A bun in the oven or cold cash in the freezer? How about a blond in the pond, a booker for your gay hooker, or even an obvious tether to a Weatherman? For the same group that failed to discern the problem of a mistress intern of a sitting President, liberals sure are making a huge fuss over the non-scandal of the pregnancy of an ordinary teenager. The Palin’s have dealt with an all too common problem in the best possible way, they have chose life.

They chose life. What’s worse?

Well what would Obama do? Long before Governor Palin was a blip on the radar Senator Obama mentioned that a pregnancy could be in the cards for his children; he’s a smart man, regardless of how well we teach our children they inevitably have to learn things the hard way. It is his solution to the event that should be the headline here though, and by his own admission that is abortion. This is not a sex education topic, this is not a scandal, and this should be a solid plank for the Republican Party not to be shied away from but instead embraced.
