    But, will congress get the message? Are they going ahead with this TRILLION DOLLAR boondoggle (or worse) and ignoring the advice of 250 leading U.S. economists? and the congressional budget office? Hello, is anyone home? And what about the other TRILLION dollars that Geithner “MY treasury secretary” is going to demand that he needs? The world is spinning out of control!

    I am glad that Cato disputed the claim by President Obama and Speaker Pelosi that all economists agree on the right and left that government can jumpstart the economy with a massive pork barrel bill. I don’t think the National Endowment for the Arts is a transformational stimulus idea and that project is merely one of the hundreds of wasteful projects inserted into this special interest feeding frenzy. Evidently, the era of big government is back.
