Fairness Doctrine on Steroids is On the Way
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 11th at 11:55 PM |
The evidence is mounting day by day that the left is getting ready to use the new power they have in the Obama Administration and Congress to reinstate something similar to The Fairness Doctrine. Two Senators recently expressed an interest in providing government mandated “balance” to talk radio. Liberal Democrats are preparing to use the full force of the federal government to attack conservative talk radio, especially leaders | Read More »

By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 3rd at 10:47 PM |
The House passed stimulus bill has a provision that will provide stimulus to criminals. No joke. On page 52 of the House Stimulus Bill, “$3,000,000,000, to be available for the Edward Byrne Memorial Justice Assistance Grant Program.” The same provision is in the Senate bill, but for only $1.5 billion on page 42. These sources implied that Senator Jim Bunning (R-KY) had not made clear his intentions to run for another term and had not raised enough money to win the 2010 Kentucky Senate race. Bartlett, former Reagan and Bush 41 Treasury official, writes in the Politico today in a piece titled “Conservatives Must to Adapt to the Welfare State” that: If conservatives refuse to participate in the debate over how revenues will be raised, then liberals will do it on their own, which will likely give us much higher tax rates and a | Read More »
Nationalizing Banks is a Socialist Idea that Only a European Economist would Endorse
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | January 25th at 12:54 PM |
If President Bush’s actions to create the so called Troubled Assets Relief Program (TARP) was socialism-light, the potential of a wholesale federal takeover of the banking system is socialism plain and simple. The New York Post is reporting that Banking Analysts see three possible options to deal with the banking situation: Create a National Bank to take over the banking system; Create a government owned | Read More »
