Fake Filibuster Outrage From Left
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | March 12th at 06:10 PM |
The left is fear-mongering on the issue of the filibuster. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid filed cloture on 17 nominees today and the left was quick to parrot the Reid talking points claiming Republican “obstruction” of these nominees. The fact of the matter is that there is no filibuster and Reid is merely setting the table so he can make hysterical arguments about Republican obstructionism. | Read More »
So Called Constitutional Option Is A Trick
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | January 5th at 04:00 PM |
The Senate commenced debate on a filibuster reform today. Be aware that liberals in the Senate are using strong arm tactics to seize power. They are using something called the “Constitutional Option” and you need to understand that this is a rhetorical and procedural trick. There is nothing unconstitutional about the filibuster and the “Constitutional Option” is a means to ignore the explicit rules of the | Read More »
Today in Washington – July 27, 2010

President Obama wants to reduce criticism of his unpopular government. It is to be expected, because the American people have little confidence in the Obama Administration and the federal government. Even left wing Think Tank, the Center for American Progress (CAP), has released data that “more than a quarter of the public says they have little or no confidence in government.” This report is evidence that, even the left | Read More »
Today in Washington – June 8, 2010

A month ago I was meeting with fishermen down there, | Read More »

Although Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) won a vote renouncing The Fairness Doctrine 87-11 last week (see the post for more details), Senator Dick Durbin won a vote on a measure that has the potential to stifle free speech and destroy conservative talk radio on a 57-41 vote. A Durbin Amendment to implement a different regulatory roadmap for the FCC to stifle talk radio was passed during Senate | Read More »
Son of The Fairness Doctrine
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 23rd at 12:22 PM |
Don’t be fooled by President Obama’s purported renunciation of the Fairness Doctrine last week. The far left fully intends to use a new regulatory scheme, the Son of The Fairness Doctrine, to regulate conservative talk radio. As Erick Erickson wrote last week on Red State, “Congress will restrict how many stations a company can own in a market. They’ll also require advisory boards for each station | Read More »

Fairness Doctrine on Steroids is On the Way
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 11th at 11:55 PM |
The evidence is mounting day by day that the left is getting ready to use the new power they have in the Obama Administration and Congress to reinstate something similar to The Fairness Doctrine. Two Senators recently expressed an interest in providing government mandated “balance” to talk radio. Liberal Democrats are preparing to use the full force of the federal government to attack conservative talk radio, especially leaders | Read More »
