An Easy Way to Stop Filibuster Reform
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | December 6th at 07:30 PM |
Liberal Democrats are going to take a run at the Filibuster in January. The have adopted idea that the Senate is not a continuing body and that the rules can be changed with a simple majority of Senators voting in a new Congress, in January, to adopt new rules. This interpretation of the Senate rules ignores the clear rules of the Senate and long tradition | Read More »
Today in Washington – May 11, 2010
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | May 11th at 05:00 AM |
Yesterday, President Obama rolled out Elena Kagan, the current Solicitor General and nominee to replace Justice John Paul Stevens on the Supreme Court. The left wing noise machine distributed talking points to fight the argument that Kagan’s lacked necessary judicial and legal experience for the Supreme Court. Nobody, right or left, really knows anything about Kagan’s judicial temperament or philosophy, because of her absence of a body of legal writings. | Read More »
“Slaughter Rule” Strategy Unprecedented
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | March 16th at 01:30 PM |
Lefties (Daily Kos, TPMDC, and Huffington Post) are defending against allegations that the “Slaughter Rule” proposed strategy to pass ObamaCare without a vote is unprecedented and unconstitutional. The Slaughter Rule has the support of Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and is the Democrats preferred strategy to pass ObamaCare. Liberals are peddling a talking point that self-executing rules like the Slaughter Rule have been done before and it was the Republicans that used | Read More »
Huffington Post Attacks Filibuster Again
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 5th at 01:00 PM |
The left is using every opportunity to fight the filibuster. As I have argued at Red State and Big Government numerous times, the filibuster is essential for democracy. Don’t be fooled, the left will use any excuse to message against the right of the minority to debate nominations and offer amendments to legislation. The far left would like to establish rule without dissent and have contempt for anybody that disagrees | Read More »

By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 3rd at 04:00 AM |
Frank Luntz has created a firestorm with the release of a document “The Language of Financial Reform” where he outlines messaging points about the financial reform ideas pending before Congress. The left is in a fury over this memo, yet the memo seems to correctly allege that the financial reform measures pending before Congress contain a permanent bailout authority and fund for the federal government. A source in the Senate tell me that | Read More »
Obamacare Ping Pong
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | January 5th at 05:00 AM |
The left is discussing the breaking news that the Democrat leadership in the House and Senate plan on using a “Ping Pong” strategy to pass Obamacare. This strategy avoids a conference committee and allows the liberal leaders to put themselves behind closed doors, in secret, to write an update to Obamacare. Yet again, the elites in Washington exclude the American public and all members of the minority | Read More »
Defunding ACORN is Constitutional
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | September 28th at 03:59 PM |
The defenders of Association of Community Organizations (ACORN) are desperate and they have called upon their friends in Congress to deploy a last ditch effort to preserve the millions of your tax dollars given to ACORN every year. Big Government web site broke the ACORN scandal showing video of two journalists posing as a prostitute and pimp requesting help to hide assets from the IRS in Baltimore, | Read More »
Keith Olbermann – Go Back To ESPN
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | February 20th at 01:00 PM |
Conservative-hating MSNBC host Keith Olbermann is known for attacking Sean Hannity, Bill O’Reilly and Rush Limbaugh (i.e. guys who crush Olbermann in the ratings) on a daily basis for a slip up or error these hosts may make from time to time. Last night, Olbermann and Howard Dean were attacking five governors (there are actually six) who are considering rejecting stimulus money on Countdown with Keith Olbermann when | Read More »
