Dear Tea Party, We Are Losing
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | May 9th at 04:30 PM |
Please send more members to Congress. The House just passed legislation that is offensive to free market capitalism reauthorizing the Export-Import Bank. And only 93 conservative Representatives opposed. Conservative cheers to Rep. Tom McClintock (R-CA) for making a speech on the House floor discussing the reasons why it is a terrible idea to reauthorize the crony capitalist Ex-Im Bank. A bill to reauthorizes the Ex-Im Bank through 2014 | Read More »
This Week in Washington – September 26, 2011

There is only one issue this week in Washington - a Continuing Resolution (CR). Both the House and Senate were scheduled to be out of session this week, so there are no major hearings or markups scheduled in committees. Friday is the deadline to pass a CR, therefore expect the House and Senate to convene off and on this week to cut a deal to keep | Read More »
A Tea Party Earmark for Paul Revere
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | December 15th at 08:00 PM |
Paul Revere received a $400,000 earmark in the Omnibus Spending bill – well at least his house did. The Paul Revere House received an earmark, thanks to Congressman Mike Capuano (D-MA). It is ironic that the Tea Party movement has risen up to fight against out of control government spending, yet the elites in Washington, DC think it appropriate to soil the name of an American | Read More »
Red State Uprising at The Heritage Foundation
By: Brian Darling (Diary) | October 20th at 10:00 PM |
Our own Erick Erickson was interviewed by The Heritage Foundation (my employer) “In the Green Room.” Erickson was at Heritage to promote his new book Red State Uprising: How to Take Back America. He talked about the Tea Party movement, earmarks and the bi-partisan problem of out of control government spending with Rob Bluey, Heritage’s Director of the Center for Media and Public Policy. Watch then discuss. | Read More »

Today in Washington – July 27, 2010

President Obama wants to reduce criticism of his unpopular government. It is to be expected, because the American people have little confidence in the Obama Administration and the federal government. Even left wing Think Tank, the Center for American Progress (CAP), has released data that “more than a quarter of the public says they have little or no confidence in government.” This report is evidence that, even the left | Read More »

Tea Party Activists are likely to have another ally in Washington this Fall — Mike Lee, the Republican nominee for Senate from Utah. Lee will join Republican nominee from Kentucky Rand Paul and the Republican nominee from Nevada Sharron Angle as non-establishment Tea Party activist candidates for Senate. If these candidates are sworn into office, expect the Republican establishment to sound more conservative next year. The Senate | Read More »

Elites in Washington are looking over their shoulders today. There is a new Scarlet Letter in America and it is the Scarlet Letter “I” for incumbent. If you are a Senate candidate running for re-election or a member of the House, both Republican and Democrat, you are nervous that the people of America will kick you out of office because you are part of the problem. Rand Paul, | Read More »

A CBS News/New York Times Poll today indicates that it is a widely held belief that government is not responsive to the will of the people, special interests have too much influence and small government is better than a big government. This poll shows that the Tea Party movement is merely the public face of a majority of American’s concerns. The shocking upset win of Scott Brown in Massachusetts and | Read More »
