Are You Ready for Election Day to Arrive

Voter Fatigue Is Setting In

I’m not undecided — as this homeowner is — but I’ve had enough of political solicitations, too. Nevertheless, as a resident of a ‘swing state,’ I can count on seeing millions more in commercial advertising before November 4.

Look at the bright side: we may have to put up with weeks of advertising, but we also still have a few weeks to donate to worthy candidates.

And I’m definitely in a swing state. Maybe my dog scares them away…

    • NightTwister

The fact that you registered 17 minutes ago to tell us this means you are really, really worried.

“Oh please, make the scary woman go away.”

Live in small town in western NY State…. it’s impossible to get a McCain/Palin sign. Those that got signs earlier are having them stolen our of their yards..

Wonder if this is happening in many other towns.

I’m sick of this. I live in the bluest of blue states, just 20 minutes from Berkeley CA. I can’t take the preaching from the limousine liberals around here. I can’t take the smug attitudes from the dirty hippies, who otherwise have nothing to be smug about.

I need the swing states and red states to ease my suffering a little here. If McCain can pull this off, there will be heads exploding all over the Bay Area.

I’ve done my part. I’ve contributed far more than average to McCain campaign and the RNC. I’ve repeatedly called all my friends & family in swing states (notably NV and NM). I’ve talked to my reasonable neighbors and offered rides on voting day.

Help me out, guys. I’m barely hanging on.

I won’t even turn the TV on, I’m so sick of the constant Obama lying campaign ad barrage.

But McCain will win Florida anyway. :)

I have a theory that after enough saturation, you actually piss off the voters and they start turning against you.

because the things I am seeing show him way ahead of where Kerry and Gore were.

Sheesh, why would any Floridian that voted for Bush change their vote to Obama? It isn’t like everyone in Florida was sitting home in 2004 you know.

Those Florida polls are crap, and suffer from the same problem all the others do. They assume that Obama gets a +10% differential in turnout. That isn’t happening.

McCain is following the exact same campaign script Bush did in 2004. Campaign in the central part of the state and the deep red counties (Brevard, Jacksonville, Sarasota). He even took a swing into Miami to pick up Jewish voters (which Bush didn’t bother doing in 2004).

It all comes down to new voters (like everywhere else). Obama has to perform a miracle and get those who have never voted before to vote.

For sure. Florida overall leans more conservative, except for West Palm Beach and Miami.

Somebody was after my McCain sign two weekends ago. I was clipping the hedges at the front of the house. I was going at the Sago pretty fiercely. So this car stops at the corner and this kid gets out. I knew he couldn’t see me.

I watched him sashay up to my sign and then I stepped out from behind the Sago, clippers in hand.

    “Need some help?” I asked.

He took off faster than my hound can track a rabbit.

Silly kid. I’d never attack anybody with hedge clippers. Not with all the other options I got. :->

I am sure most us in redstate are doing our part. I live in the Socialist Republic of New York and I along with the other few GOPers are contributing what money we can, making phone calls and even driving to PA on election to volunteer our services with rides and other forms of assistance.

      • GregInFla

We donated to Russell over the weekend. Does he have a chance this year, maybe riding coattails of Palin?

        • GregInFla

Florida should go McCain. Latest poll has McCain ahead. Here in Brevard county, I rarely see a Obama sign. And I have maybe seen 5 Obama bumper stickers. I’ll be down in Lauderdale Friday and I’m sure the surroundings will be a little different. (Of course, my Fred08 sticker is on my car.)

I just have to laugh when I hear Obama commercials on radio, during Mark Levin, Hannity, and Beck’s programs. They have stayed away from Rush’ show.
