Help Put Conservatism on a Roll

In 1992 the Republican party lost control of the White House, the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate. Political commentators asked whether the party was likely to matter in the near future, or be consigned to long-term irrelevance. Yet the inexperienced new president put too much trust in Congressional liberals to set his agenda, failed to properly vet high-level nominees, and embarked on a pointless and wasteful ‘stimulus’ package whose early troubles presaged major difficulties ahead. Republicans took control of Congress in 1994, and their rise to power was signaled early with victories in a special Congressional election in Kentucky, followed later by victories in the Virginia and New Jersey gubernatorial races.

And while history may not repeat itself, there are often echoes. Help set off an echo now, by contributing $20 to the candidacy of Jim Tedisco in New York’s 20th Congressional District. If you want to know more about Tedisco, check out the video below. And note that he has recently received the endorsement of New York’s Conservative Party, in addition to the Republican Party. Tedisco previously received the Conservative endorsement during his tenure in the New York State Assembly as well.

You can read Tedisco’s bio here, or contribute here.

.. and assume this is a special election for Gillenbrand’s seat.

Do you mean to tell me that not everyone sleeps, breathes, and eats this stuff? I may need to get a life.

Yes. No date for the election has been set yet, but the race is for the former Gillibrand seat. It will take place in the next few months and the contest will be between Tedisco and tax cheat and carpetbagger Scott Murphy, who was nominated primarily because he can pay for the race out of his own pocket.

My wife and my mother-in-law work for him, indirectly. I’ve met him. Nice guy. Very,/b> pro-life. Fairly pro-gun, too. My money’s going to him.

      Could you quantify that statement?

      • BlueStateSaint

He’s been against all of the anti-gun provisions that have been brought up in the NYS Assembly, for at least as long as he’s been the Minority Leader, and probably as long as he’s been in the NYS Assembly (I don’t have his voting records in front of me at the moment). By “fairly pro-gun,” what I meant is that he knows that the Sullivan Law (handgun permit system in NYS) isn’t going to be repealled anytime soon, so he doesn’t really push for that.

I am a volunteer for Steve Lonegan, He will be the Republican Candidate to run against Corzine in 2010. This past weekend we started to collect signatures for his name to be on the ballot. He is a two time mayor of Bagota NJ, 2-1 Democrat registration. Solid on Tax cuts and all other conservative issues. Here is the link for those who would like to help. We need to get the boots on the ground out, this could be the perfect storm for Conservatives in BlueJersey to take the state back.
