My bet is that our “Republican” Governor does infinitely more damage to our state than Janet Napolitano ever could have. The current chain of command in AZ - we have no LtGov - putting the Secty of State in the #2 position is a joke. It’s a nothing office and it’s been held by a long string of barely competent fools. And every time we lose a Governor, the result is a freaking disaster. Jan Freaking Brewer is Charlie Crist in drag, thank god for the Freshman class of Republicans in the State House. They’ve so far blocked the worst of what she wanted to do, with the approval of the good ole boys. The new guys on the street really whipped up a sand storm when she proposed new taxes.

the Donks hadn’t had a federal office in Alaska since ‘80. One or both bodies of the Legislature had been in Republican control since the early ’80s, mostly both bodies. Now thanks to the USDOJ we have little lefty punk of a Tony Knowles protege as a US Senator and with the power of incumbency, we’ll play Hell getting him out. We’ve had a couple of Democrat governors but mostly they’ve had to act more like Republicans than most Republicans do in order to get elected and Republican legislatures have largely kept them in line. I’m not real hopeful for keeping things that way.

Forgive my ignorance, but which State are you referring to?

I agree that the Justice Dept. is anything but. They did nothing, for political expediency I suppose. Otherwise, they would have been going after ACORN along with pretty much the entire Congressional Black Caucus, LaRasa, CAIR, and the other minority-centric groups spouting race hate while they greased the Dem politicos. Bush wasn’t up for that fight. But, then again, he let a lot of things slide. We’re paying dearly for that now.

And, for the record, I’m from Oklahoma, which was entirely red in the last election. O didn’t win one single county here, and I think the margin for McCain was highest here too. As far as I know, that makes us the reddest (read: most racist). And we’ll surely suffer for our defiance.

chasing ambulances and doing wills and divorces that GWB DIDN’T hire during the eight years he could have and we could have put a lot of these people and their friends in jail. Instead, he was compassionate and concilliatory and STUPID and left holdovers all over who protected the fiends. They only thing the USDOJ accomplished was costing America’s Reddest state one Republican US Senator and fundamentally crippling the Republican legislature here.

There’s malice of forethought in the case of Barney Frank, Maxine Waters, Gregory Meeks, Lacy Clay, Arthur Davis, and especially Frank Raines. I’d like to see the RICO Act used on them. They certainly knew what they were doing with ACORN, and Freddie/Fannie, and that’s tied to BHO with a big bow on it.
