McCaskill Finally Gets It?

The American People Don't Trust Democrats on Health Care

Senator Claire McCaskill held a townhall today, and she may have had an epiphany:

As the health care debate has proceeded, Democrats have done their best to tweak their message. But one point that seems not to have changed is their emphasis on ‘comprehensive’ health care reform, and on ‘universal’ coverage. The public’s wariness about some big fix ought to send a pretty clear signal: they are worried that Obama is trying to deliver more change than they want.

In point of  fact, the American people don’t trust the Democrats. And they don’t trust the Republicans, either. They believe that our health care system is good enough not to need comprehensive reform. They may desire change, but they don’t want to throw the baby out with the bathwater.

Will one of the parties wise up, and sell its approach as nothing more than incremental reform, designed not to be overly-ambitious? If the American people want a health care fix, but oppose a complete overhaul, the answer is to do nothing drastic and nothing irreversible. It may be that whoever takes that approach first, wins.

      This is how Democrats work.
Remember when Clinton said he got it about taxing us too much and trying to gut the Second Amendment?
      How long did that last?
      Right.
Not long. Actually not at all.
So they’ll still cram this down our throats and once they have enabling legislation, just rewrite it to suit them, suckering the GOP AGAIN.
You know, like the way they passed the Porkulus and Cap and Tax. Pass it, THEN write it, then hope nobody reads it.
      They’re LIARS.
      Get it?

At one she said something like “The word ‘abortion’ doesn’t appear in the bill and I won’t vote for any bill that changes federal laws related to abortion funding.” That’s supposed to make you THINK she is saying “Abortions aren’t covered and I won’t support covering them.” That is a lie. What she’s REALLY saying is “The Hyde amendment that bans Medicaid abortion funding won’t apply if it’s not under Medicaid, and I’m sure that as long as there is not a similar ban to anything else that they will indeed be covered.”

BTW She has a 100% NARAL rating.

Don’t listen to what Claire the Lib says, watch what she does.

This woman has been talking out of both sides of her mouth since she swindled (barely enough) people in Missouri into believing that she’s moderate.

(Jim Talent, how I miss you!)

She has proven ad infinitum that she will say one (conservative) thing and do the (liberal) opposite.

Rep. Lois Capps (D-CA) tacked on an amendment that would not just cover abortions with taxpayer funding but also require plans in the “exchange” to cover abortion in every region.

It would be interesting to see if McCaskill knows that this would invalidate a Missouri law that prohibits private insurance from covering abortion. No telling how many other state laws would be affected.

These people have not read the bill, so they can only follow a list of talking points to duck legitimate concerns. They cannot or will not answer anything directly and honestly.

Stating the obvious, Americans no longer trust their government. The Democrats and Obama broke faith with porkulus.

They won’t give up their freedoms.

Was, “How long do you think you can keep your job if you vote for the public option?”

As McCaskill read the question, her demeanor went from, “Nice to meet you!” to: “come ‘ere so I can rip your face off!”

Her answer was essentially: I don’t care if I get voted out.

As @eddiebear said on Twitter, we’ll be glad to oblige.

She, like so many other Democrats have their voting position on this issue set. What ever KoolAide was served in DC after 2008, it was a potent lot.

Most of the socialists in Congress are on the union dole….
Most of them would never have been elected without the union dollars…..

She sounds like every other Dem out there. They only know one thing, to keep voting against her constituents.

She says she doesn’t understand this rudeness. The rudeness is that they don’t listen to their constituents, and that is rude. The constituents are fed up with the arrogance of the members of congress, who come to their constituents when they need money/votes; that’s really rude.

“I know there are some of you here who want us to do nothing.”

“We can all agree that the current system is broken.”

“I won’t vote for a bill that will add to the deficit.”

and other such things that insult the intelligence of anyone with IQ of double digits or higher.
