Rasmussen is showing Brady leading Quinn by 11 in IL-GOV

The latest Rasmussen Reports survey of the Illinois Governor’s race is showing Republican Bill Brady with 47% support while the Democrat Quinn only gets 36%. That’s an 11 point lead! The report is also showing 8% preferring “some other candidate” (there is a Green and a Libertarian that I’m aware of) and 10% still undecided.

This is wonderful news for those of us who want a return to honest government in the state. The MOE on the survey is pretty high at 4.5% which means that Quinn COULD actually be within 2 points of Brady, however the lead is a trend that has been steady since Brady won the GOP primary in March.

The news will only get better as Quinn’s former boss and running mate stands trial. Blago’s trial is getting interesting as his former aides have started to testify to the level of corruption that existed in that administration. Quinn has been trying hos best to distance himself from Blago, but that’s not going to fly. Not even in Illinois.

While I really think that Brady is going to win this election, as you all know, campaigns take money. Lots of money. And this is Illinois so it takes even more money for a Republican to win, even when he’s 11 points ahead. So please take a moment to visit his website and give a little cash to help us out.

We definitely need to get someone with some fiscal sanity to run The Socialist State of Chicago (IL)

With the level of deficit spending in this state, we’re going to need to make some real cuts in services. Some of them may be (short term) painful.

We can get back a HUGE chunk of money by getting rid of the waste, fraud and abuse (I know cliche’ but true in Illinois), but we’re currently spending about $13Billion more than we take in. It’s going to be hard to close that gap.

Brady will be more likely to do it than Quinn. And he’ll definitely go for the waste and corruption. I’m hoping he also catches a serious case of GOP backbone from Christie. Brady’s a nice guy. He’s a good businessman so he knows how to balance budgets and make cuts where necessary. But I think he’s going to have to get a little bit of a Jersey attitude too (after the election).

Not all the crooks are Dems – Illinois has plenty of corrupt Repubs as well. (Go look up Betty Loren-Maltese for a recent example, or just go read Kass)

It’s going to be tough for whoever the next Governor is to triangulate his way through this swamp because, in several cases, the allies he needs to win are the same piggies he’s going to have to kick out of the trough the day after the election…

And I can’t find any mention of her party affiliation. As near as I can tell that was a mob connection more than a political party issue.

I can tell you that Republicans have been busy cleaning house since George Ryan sank this party in Illinois. I don’t believe there are any corrupt ones left. Most of the corruption came from the Chicago area and I suspect continues to be the main source of corruption.

Brady will try to drain the swamp. Quinn will just raise taxes and pretend there is no swamp to drain. According to Quinn only schools can have their budgets cut…

Of the Cook County variety. The part of Cook County that’s not Chicago is invariably Republican by label, but they sure vote like Dems on tax bills.

I can tell you that I live in Illinois – and while there have been some successful house-cleaning incidents, I don’t believe for a minute that the Illinois Republicans are “squeaky clean”. Go read today’s column by Kass – the cleanup on the Republican side is far from over.

We ARE cleaning house and turning over rocks. When we find dirty ones, they go.

Because until those two are true, I’m not believing he’s not still pulling strings somewhere…

I know the cleanup is ongoing, and that’s good, but I don’t think it’s nearly done.

It takes time to clean house thoroughly….

for most Governors to go to jail. There are crooks all over the place in IL. St Clair and Madison County are run pretty much the same way as Cook county.

To be a judge you need a LUG (money you give to the Dem Party). And we get people thrown off of the ballots for no reason by the same judges because they could take the power away from the Party Machines. My mom was berated because she did not go to a judge’s fundraiser, and my mom is a Republican. And these judge;s do not have opponents. Why do they need fundraisers????

The Republicans have cleaned house, but I am sure there are still some crooks still around

next week at a fundraiser here in town. I don’t donate money to campaigns very often outside of golf outing fundraisers (I’m a poor, minimum wage earning college student) and it’ll be the best money I’ve spent this year.

    Go Brady!
