Don’t Step in the “Kiss In” Trap Friday

Same sex couples are staging a “kiss in” Friday at various Chick-Fil-A restaurants. If you think this is to demonstrate a widespread level of support for gay marriage, you’re wrong.

The purpose is to bait someone on the right into doing something stupid.

The left would like nothing more than to capture on camera someone:

  • yelling at a gay couple
  • assaulting (shoving, hitting, etc…) a gay couple
  • telling a gay couple to “go to hell” or using other obscene language
  • getting in a gay couples face
  • employees forcibly escorting someone from the premises (call the police if feel this is required)
  • giving a gay couple the middle finger
  • angrily scowling at a gay couple
Don’t step into their trap; don’t do something stupid. Remember this biblical advice:
If your enemy is hungry, give him food to eat;  if he is thirsty, give him water to drink.  In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head,  and the Lord will reward you.  – Proverbs 25:21-22

I said pretty much the same thing in response to a comment in a diary entitled Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day. This is one of those times to just sit back and let them hang themselves. This could well turn out to be another “Occupy” moment and most people ended up being utterly disgusted with that group. Let them have their day and just sit back while they s__t in their own messkit.

buy some food inside the restaurant and take it to the protesters; “Thought you guys and gals looked a little hungry, so I brought you some refreshments.” Make sure you have a buddy with his/her cell phone camera trained on them. Heh, heh.

stayed away that day after the super Wed. support.

Mostly, it would be really great if the press didn’t cover it and give them their limelight. My guess is it will fall flat like OWS.

However, I wouldn’t be surprised if the homofascists putting this together conjure up an incident, much as they conjured up this ‘controversy’. It’s part of their m.o.

I’m not so sure that the outpouring of support Wed. was only a pro-free speech thing and not anti-homosexual marriage, or anti-homosexual activism in general. SSM has not passed anywhere it’s been put to a vote. And it’s one thing to expect tolerance, quite another to force affirmation, which the militant homosexual activists clearly want. I could be wrong, but I think people are getting tired of it.

And we can’t take the bait. I really can’t see this being a huge movement like we saw Wednesday, but whoever tries this lame stunt should be met with smiles and kindness.

We were talking about this “kiss in” at work today and my most liberal coworker with a huge circle of gay friends commented “Yeah, THAT’s gonna get a lot of support for their cause.”

So let them come, let them kiss, let them eat chicken!

My sister “de-friended” me on Facebook because I posted a joke about the Chick-Fil-A situation that apparently offended the sensitivities of her liberal friends.

On the heels of Chick-Fil-A’s record revenue day on Wednesday, I had posted that I thought it would be humorous if the “kiss-in” counter protestors lacked the foresight to buy anything and got arrested for loitering. Pretty innocuous, no? Would’t have happened based on the very polite approach that Chick-Fil-A seems to have with it’s customers, but not meant to be taken too seriously.

By the by, am I the only one who feels a little bad about that guy who lost his job over his YouTube video at the Chick-Fil-A drive-thru? Don’t get me wrong – he was a jerk of epic proportions and I give huge props to that teenage girl for keeping her cool, but I don’t think that rose to a fireable offense. I didn’t want to see anyone lose his / her job over this.

when the guy was fired for his verbal assault on an employee at CFA.

I liked it for a number of reasons, one being that it was like a breath of fresh air to remember that the private sector is free to fire “at will” employees without cause and that the government is powerless to intervene. The other main reason I liked it is that too many liberal promoters of the homosexual movement are outrageously aggressive, rude, intolerant hypocrites (not to mention bullies) — all the things they accuse us of and claim to hate. So, it gave me great satisfaction that this crude man’s employer did not cave to the political pressure of the left, but reacted with a strong message of disapproval for the unacceptable conduct of one of its employees.

I feel no pity for the man fired.

      • jazzycmk

And this fellow was no ordinary employee, but the CFO of the company. When you’re an officer of your company and do something public like that, you need to consider the consequences.

But, I would like to give him the benefit of the doubt that he lost his cool and just did something impulsively without thinking. Guess I would have preferred to hear that he was strongly reprimanded.

I don’t know the guy, but let’s assume he has a family he’s supporting. It’s just sad and unfortunate. That’s all.

        • westcoastpatriette

is that we are not privy to the employment history of this man. Maybe he was equally arrogant and rude on the job and the incident at CFA was the final straw. We just don’t know.

        • checkmate2012

saw the whole clip. He was videoing himself in his car, while waiting in line at the drive thru, musing to himself how this is going to be interesting, and then said here we go as he got to the window.

He planned and staged the whole thing and did just say something off the cuff. I’m glad he got fired since if that’s what he does to a total stranger, how would he treat his employees?

Almost the first words out of his mouth are an attack on Chick-Fil-A and the AFA for their stance against SS marriage. Then he claims his family and his former employer received threats. How do we know that’s true? Then he claims CFA is threatening the basic human rights of homosexuals. Seems to me all he wanted to do was extend his 15 minutes.

Now, having said that, if he was indeed getting threats, that is shameful, and no conservative I know would do such a thing. The hypocrisy is that I doubt he’s called out the gay movement for its hate speech which includes his own as he indicted everyone who supports traditional marriage as hateful in his own words.

          • checkmate2012

too late. He planned his 15 minutes of fame, taped it, and then is remorseful after he got fired.

And all this when he stated he was not gay, but had to push the envelope nonetheless. Ditto on the threats part.

          • texasref

LOL that’s a lie! My gaydar went off right away.

          • westcoastpatriette

The only thing he is sorry for is that he underestimated the push back (which in his mind is boggling — as in, he had no idea so many people are homophobic bigots) that he would get from his tirade. He has bought the civil rights meme hook, line and sinker and really thinks we are on the wrong side of the war and, therefore, evil bigots.

So, his main goal in making his apology video was to justify himself and continue to denigrate those who see things differently.

Chick-fil-A is a class act and their employees have been nothing but kind and loving folks; even offering the protesters water and lemonade. When have you ever seen that type of kindness afforded to conservative groups, like the Tea Party?

This isn’t getting any exposure from MSM, obviously.
