I still don’t know her true stand on abortion. If she believes the way her president believes, perhaps some bishop will deny her communion.

And you are right, Our Lady of Guadalupe is a revered Icon of the Church. It is blasphemous to change out the Image of the Blessed Mother for political expediency.

Absolutely, and completely, disgusting.

And I thought that the worst thing I would see today is Senator Al Franken on the Judiciary committee drooling over Virgin Mary Sotomayor claiming that she’s the best nominee in a hundred years.

Sotomayor’s face on the Blessed Virgin is morally reprehensible. Our Lady of Guadalupe appeared to the Aztec Indians because they were offering to their idols human victims. Because of Our Lady’s defense of human life, she is also the Protectress of the Unborn. I doubt that Sotomayor is going to protect the unborn! This depiction of Sotomayor as the Blessed Virgin is a travesty!

That image, that apparition of the Blessed Mother is sacred to all Catholic Americans, no matter which nation. She is the patroness of the Americas, all of our mother, and our true guide to her Son. In fact, as noted above, she is patroness of the unborn because in this image she is pregnant–indicated by the ribbon around her midsection–and that can only mean she’s pregnant with One. The ONLY One.

I do hope Sanchez regains his soul from the death grip the devil has on it at present. Anyone who can abuse an image of Our Lady can only have been moved to do so by the one who hates the Immaculate Conception with the deepest of hatred. Our Lady is the sure guide to her Son, she is the morning star, the seat of wisdom, mother of love, mediatrix of grace, and the slayer of heresy. Anyone who can deface her sacred images has no love for her or for her Son. And therefore has no measurable love at all, if love is to retain any sort of a Christian meaning. A truly sorry state.

All good people need to reject this sort profanation of the sacred, regardless of creed or political persuasion. Anyone who will not respect and defend something so intimate and personal as a picture of everyone’s mother will not respect nor defend much of anything, really. And that is not good for society.

I was reminded of this image of Mary, mother of Jesus, and her role as mother (and therefore primary teacher) of the God-man.

Liberals despise God because they can’t stand the idea that there is someone above them on the org chart, so they actively try to kill God and drive him from the popular consciousness; the better to anoint themselves our Masters and Saviors.

You’ll notice that they’d never risk portraying their icons as Mohammad. Either that’s because it’s sacrilegious to them or, more likely, bound to get them killed for blaspheming the Prophet. I’ve long held that Christians will never stop being defecated upon until they start killing the people who offend their beliefs. It worked for the Religion of Peace, dinnit?
