FRONT PAGE CONTRIBUTOR

I…Am Angry

My disgust with the Obama administration grows deeper on a daily basis. But it is more than disgust – it is anger. I have a very difficult time bringing myself to write about the daily stunts propagated by the Obamites, as it leaves a bitter taste in my mouth and puts me in a horrid mood. My personality is one that must vent when in such a mood, and so I will.

I am angry.

  • I am angry about the attempted indoctrination of my children by the Socialist-in-Chief and the efforts to brainwash them into following their Dear Leader and becoming co-conspirators in his attempts to break down the values of the nation.
  • I am angry that this “community organizer” has decided that it is necessary to decimate the economy by spending us into oblivion on a “recovery” plan that was/is nothing more than a liberal ideological wish list.
  • I am angry that the citizens of the United States do not receive an unbiased view of the destruction of the free enterprise system; rather, they are witnesses to a massively leftist biased media populated by Obama administration sycophants who have no interest in anything but supporting their man-god.
  • I am angry that Obama (remember, he’s not a Muslim!!!!11!!!1!) would ignore the National Day of Prayer yet spend our hard-earned tax money to deliver a special message to Muslims for Ramadan.
  • I am angry that the Leftists in DC are in the process of instituting the largest tax increase in history under the guise of preventing “climate change”…that they are willing to play chicken with the economic future of the nation.
  • I am angry that this spineless coward who is unwilling to take ownership of the problems that have been brought on by his incompetent policies would have the audacity to claim that he is interested in reducing the federal deficit after single-handedly quadrupling the deficits of the previous administrations.
  • I am angry that the voters who elected this abomination of a “President” refuse to note his hypocrisy in opposing the war in Iraq, yet promoting precisely the same scenario in Afghanistan.
  • I am angry at the borderline criminal behavior of this man who conspired to remove the Inspector General of Americorps so he could promote his own socialist policies via that organization with no oversight.
  • I am angry that my nation would turn citizen against citizen in an attempt to “rat out” dissenters who dare to question the policies of The One.
  • I am angry at the liberal Democrats and their cronies who pull the race card at every turn in a feeble attempt to cover up for Obama’s failures and inadequacies. It is inconceivable to them that anyone would dare question their Messiah without racial overtones.

But most of all, I am angry that this nation would be so hoodwinked as to elect this Marxist/Fascist/Socialist nightmare in the first place. How an entire nation could be so misled and fooled by a man such as Barack Obama is an indictment on the intelligence – or at least the attention span – of 53% of the United States electorate.

I am hoping for some catharsis here.  But something tells me that tomorrow will bring nothing more than another Obama abomination and in another nine months I’ll have another litany of offenses to list. Or perhaps in 2010, there will be a “revolt of the masses,” as described by Daniel Henninger in today’s WSJ and my anger will be quelled.

In short…I am mad. But, I also want YOU to get mad! I want everyone to respond as activists who will do everything within their power to help Barack Obama fail. I want to see him out of office, and the sooner the better. I want you to be as mad as hell!

DO IT. NOW.

COMMENTS

  • wolfgang

We need to find an appropriate door to nail this one to, THE OBAMBI hasn’t decided on a particular church or pastor to attend yet, perhaps because there is a Mosque and a Mullah in his future.
I’m sure Van Jones and his crew are deliberating ways to seize all of the privately held citzen’s weaponry before the citizenry arrives at their moment of catharsis.

  • RedBeard

And I’m not going to take it anymore.

This is not just a silly, useless president like Bill Clinton. This is not just a bad president with the management skills of Clem Kadiddlehopper like Jimmy Carter. This is an evil president, a bloody one-man fifth column.

Gee, that sounded almost as if I want him to fail.

  • bcmoney82

You don’t have to “want him to fail”. It is a guarantee he will fail, based on what we already know about his policies. Unless, of course, they have a different definition of success. My belief is that they define success as eliminating the disparity between rich and poor; class warfare. Even though this means everyone’s absolute standard of living and wealth decreases, that’s not the point. The end game is being able to pluck any two people off the street and say “this guy doesn’t enjoy anything that this other guy doesn’t”.

  • Vladimir

    May I add a couple?

There’s Carol Browner, whose participation on a committee of the Socialist International was scrubbed from their website upon her appointment as Czar for Energy/the Environment.

And the trampling of the rights of the shareholders and creditors of GM, taking them into bankruptcy to wipe the slate clean of environmental cleanup liability before handing a big chunk of the company to the UAW.

And there’s the cynical dealings with GE and the big utilities over green energy & cap-n-trade.

And the Guantanamo deal, absent any thought about what to actually do with the prisoners.

And ACORN and the intentional manipulation of the 2010 census.

  • JustLeaveMeAlone

  • mdd1956

That is Bernie Goldberg’s take on the electorate & he’s right.

Many care more about the sizzle than the steak.

    or

Obama’s qualification wasn’t “the content of his character”

  • monstermom

I’m mad because of everything you described, and more.

I’m mad because Obama will (not might WILL) be O-bombing our schools when his US Dept of Education issues national academic standards and mandates then for every school in the country in December, and no one seems to give a hoot – even conservatives.

President gives a speech to kids and we’re up in arms. The President convenes and funds a committee dictate a national curriculum and we do and say nothing (the committee is called the Common Core State Standards Initiative, it’s backed by the US Dept of Education, and 48 states have singed onto the effort because they were threatened by Secretary Duncan with the loss of federal funding for education is they didn’t). Which issue has the greater potential to harm children in the long run? Yet that issue hasn’t gotten one breath of attention. That makes me very angry.

I’m glad Obama and his fellows on the left showed their true intent, because that woke the sleeping giant. The American people are paying attention now, close attention, for the first time in a long long time. Conservatives are fighting back, against false and baseless accusations and claims by liberals.

Had McCain been elected (and I manned the phone banks and knocked on doors for him) the liberals wouldn’t have been able to be as overt in their efforts. We might not be as angry, but that slow incremental loss of liberty would be continuing without us muttering a sound. Because Obama was elected and the Democrats got their super-majorities, they can do pretty much whatever they want. And they are – or at least they’re trying to.

In a weird sort of way, I’m glad for that. Because the sleeping giant wouldn’t have been awakened had Obama not been elected and the Democrats gotten a super-majority.

  • bs

the Government Motors fiasco and the Cash For Clunkers joke.

See? There’s so much Obamacrap that it’s hard to list it all.

  • Paul_In_Houston

…his response to Honduras preventing a “president for life” takeover.

He now threatens to refuse to recognize the upcoming November election there unless Zelaya is put back into power.

For some strange reason he gets into a snit at the idea of someone being removed from power for attempting an end run around his country’s Constitution.

  • penguin2

Even after his election, I don’t think many on our side could have imagined the breadth and scope of what he has done or is trying to do. The Leftists were prepared to go after their Socialist/Communists agenda immediately. IMO, the American people don’t think in terms of everything being a crisis and rushing solutions. It caught them unawares. Of course they were sold a bill of goods with the help of MSM.

OTOH, some of the fault rests with the people, who were caught napping and being complacent over the past 50yrs. The left put everything in place and were ready for their moment, we were not.

You’re right, we want him to fail, we need him to fail.

  • azaeroprof

Man, I would like to click it about 50 times! (Yes, I know, front page and all!)

This one will be printed out and shown to all my friends who ask me why I’m working so hard against Barack Obama’s agenda. Wait, all my friends feel the same way you and I do! Well, then I’ll print copies for all of them to show their friends. I wish RS had a way to put this diary on a permanent front page spot and you could add to it every time another Obamanation occurs, which seems to be almost daily.

Awesome job, bs! And your referencing is par excellence, a good example of how a true RS diary should be constructed.

  • http://beaglescout.wordpress.com LJ “Beaglescout” Miller

As you stated, we don’t know anything about it.

  • freedomforce

EVERYTHING I have been thinking. Thanks for being brave enough to not tip-toe around like most people. What you say is TRUTH…most people have no idea where this guy and his czars really want to take this country. I too am angry at the people who just “voted against 4 more years of Bush” and the people who said “let’s give this guy a chance” and the people who vote with their emotions and not their head. I’m angry at the media who have given this guy a total free pass from the beginning. So many people in this country have “American Idol Syndrome” and have lost ALL use of their brain. WAKE UP!! You screwed up, people, now help those of us with some sense fix it…before it’s too late. We’re not conspiracy theorist nutjobs…just open your eyes…it’s right there in front of you. So, unless you want to live in Cuba or Venezuela…vote to regain some control in 2010. Then finish the job in 2012. Thanks…and maybe one day we will forgive you.

  • anotherindyfilmguy

and collected-you’re doing a great job documenting and connecting dots! Much better than the tingly legged MSM…

  • irishgirl

I’m angry too! We have to do everything we can to make our anger and disgust known in 2010.

  • http://www.cityonahillpolitics.blogspot.com/ Bill@cityonahillpolitics

Absolutely 100% agree with you. Obama is worse than even imagined and he must be stopped if we want to retain any of our individual liberties!

  • stickmoon

that I have no flippin idea what a socialist even is!

  • louisiana

when you talked about complacency. I patted myself on the back everytime I voted & considered myself a great citizen. What I DIDN’T do was to pay attention to not only the Democratic agenda, but also the lack of leadership & role of the Republican party. I will join the GOP ladies group here & get involved. Cold Warrior has inspired me to become more politically active & I am going to get busy by trying to become a PC. Thanks to all RSers for the motivation. I only hope I can sustain my anger for the next 3+yrs. without losing my health & sanity!

  • Brian Hibbert

Thank you for getting involved. I’m amazed at how Obama has inspired more conservatives to become activists. It’s not normally in our nature.

If enough people like you get active, we can take this country back. Then we have to STAY active to keep it.

  • peg_c

I’m mad as hell also. This is a bit of catharsis.

The littany of high crimes and misdemeanors committed by this administration is growing every single day.

I want him to fail, we need him to fail, and may he take the entire Party of Death with him. But we need our country to overcome and survive this and be stronger as a result.

  • boxer1017

We the people are standing up against OSLAMA!!!!!!! His green job Czar has to go!!!!! They are trying to pass their agenda and WE THE PEOPLE must stop them!!!!!!!!!! I am sick and tired of this administration. They are trying to run this great country of ours to the ground. STAND UP!!! STAND UP!!!!! GOD BLESS THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • penguin2

“lack of leadership and role of Republican Party.” As I have been trying to get more involved locally, it does seem that there are significant weaknesses. And I was just thinking the other day, soon I will run into a Conservative activist or better yet, a fellow RS soul. September does bring a restart here for some groups and I will be persistent.

Cold Warrior is doing a great job nudging folks, and he does eventually get to you…LOL. And on your last thought, we will help sustain each other.

  • stickmoon

come to grips with the fact that you lost?

  • stickmoon

for the right-wing to go from “if you criticize the president – at a time of war – you have committed treason” to “Obama is a socialist who hates America”?

If you criticize the president in a time of war, you are treasonous.

  • penguin2

Two comments and both of them indicate you don’t believe or support Conservatives or Republicans? Could you clarify for me your point. Maybe I am misunderstanding your point.

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

Whoops! Sorry, rhetorical question. I don’t actually care.

  • http://moelane.com/ Moe Lane

    Hmm. Catchy.

  • Andy W.

to figure out they lost in 2000? Seems like they never did. 8 years of hate, discontent and media spawned muckraking. Difference is, we don’t have to make up lies about THE ONE(tm) in order to get our points. He has done an outstanding job so far of supplying all the ammunition we need, and all he needs to shoot himself in the foot on a regular basis.

  • Andy W.

I was freely criticizing President Bush on a daily basis.

That’s called freedom of thought and speech. I hope I still have that right by the time THE ONE(tm) and his Czars are done.

  • http://www.hakubi.us/ Neil Stevens

They are not here in good faith.

  • Andy W.

My desire to have reasoned discussion sometimes overwhelms me and I do that which I shouldn’t. Attempt to reason with an in the tank lib.

    Sorry.

I posted a couple of overviews on my diary.

    http://www.redstate.com/monstermom/2009/06/20/three-blind-mice/

    http://www.redstate.com/monstermom/2009/06/15/nationalizing-public-schools/

Here’s a link to a blog that spells the issue out better than I can with fewer words, lots of quotes, and citations for everything.

    http://schoolsmatter.blogspot.com/2009/02/translating-arne-duncan.html

Here’s a link to Arne Duncan’s testimony before the House Education and Labor Subcommittee where he says that federal “stabilization” funds will only be provided to schools and districts which “promise to improve the quality of their academic standards”

    http://www.ed.gov/news/speeches/2009/05/05202009.html

Here’s a link a Bloomberg article noting where Duncan threw his support behind the Common Core Standards initiative and suggested that the $5 billion in stimulus funds will be available to those schools which play nicely.

    http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601103&sid=aXp_0t1dgo_Q&refer=us

Here’s a link to the Washington Post article noting that Secretary Duncan has released $350 million in federal stimulus funds to facilitate the development of a new national assessment.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/06/14/AR2009061402660.html

Here’s a link to the CCSSO release announcing the state which have joined the initiative.

    http://www.ccsso.org/whats_new/press_releases/13359.cfm

Here’s the link explaining what the initiative is doing and what it requires – Page 2 explains that states which have joined the initiative have agreed to adopt at least 85% of the standards developed by the initiative.

    http://www.corestandards.org/Files/CCSSIOne-Page.pdf

Here’s a link to the initial draft of the high level objective for the standards.

    http://www.corestandards.org/Standards.htm

Here’s a very long link to the members of the Work Group who are drafting the standards. A small group of folks have been trying to follow the money behind the effort and have discovered that many of the people on the work group either were part of Obama’s campaign or were major contributors and many work for assessment companies which are set to make a bundle with the new national assessment they’re developing.

    http://www.nga.org/portal/site/nga/menuitem.6c9a8a9ebc6ae07eee28aca9501010a0/?vgnextoid=60e20e4d3d132210VgnVCM1000005e00100aRCRD&vgnextchannel=759b8f2005361010VgnVCM1000001a01010aRCRD

Here’s a link about the process being followed to draft the national standards from a contributor to Education Weekly.

    http://jaypgreene.com/2009/06/09/the-national-standards-sausage-making/

Here’s a link to the Washington Post article about the effort.

    http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2009/05/31/AR2009053102339.html

Here’s a link to the Common Core State Standards Site

    http://www.corestandards.org/

As you can see from the site, they are keeping their deliberations very quiet and there is no mechanism for feedback and adjustment once the standards are drafted.

The initiative is being sold as a state lead effort, but with $5 billion in federal stimulus funds behind it and Obama followers all over the group drafting the standards, that assertion is difficult to buy.

It is a complicated issue, and there is some merit to what Duncan is saying. But national standards is frightening. It’s hard enough getting rid of a crummy textbook when your local school picks one. Imagine trying to convince the federal government when it’s got the NCTM behind it that giving calculators to 5 year old’s is bad.

  • http://www.redstate.com/tnjim TNJim

So much has happened in the last 8 months it hard to keep up with it all. But hopefully, now that the brakes were put on the health care bill at least long enough for it to not come up for a vote in July like they wanted we can slow this juggernaut down even more. I think it’s encouraging that many independents who voted for this guy are finally waking up and saying “Wait, what???” That is key. Of course, this is exactly what the hardcore leftys who supported him want to see, so I don’t hold out much hope for them to change their minds, but turning the independents around is doable.

Penguin above mentioned involvement. I’m off today, so I’m going down to my local GOP headquarters to see what I can do this afternoon. It’s going to take as many people as we can get to yank the brake handle back on this administration.

As Glen Beck says, “Follow me!”

  • Jack_Savage

Apparently, the White House is releasing lists of visitors to the White House, while blabbering on about transparency blah blah. Of course, they had to get sued by CREW to do it.

Anyhoo, read this from the AP report and tell me what the media will be focusing on:

“The settlement reached Thursday also allows the government to turn over Bush era records, according to CREW. CREW fought the Bush administration vigorously on access to the records, seeking Freedom of Information Act requests and appealing denials through the court system.”

    Can’t wait for those headlines.

  • http://www.nighttwister.com NightTwister

I suppose that’s the cynic in me. I just figure people got the government they deserve (as they always do here), and they’re gonna have to suffer some serious consequences before they realize how big a mistake they really made.

  • Skanderbeg

Well, the little twerp is long gone – but since this stuff ends up being archival material (which is one reason twerps are sent in to mess on our carpets), here’s why we are annoyed with good reason to be – and in a way that the other side has no cause to be annoyed back.

Can anyone name a time – ever – that a conservative ran a pretending-to-be-a-liberal campaign, in order to get elected… and THEN just went ahead and governed like a conservative?

    I sure can’t.

On the other hand, for my entire life, I’ve watched as liberals ran as conservatives to fool the people and get elected – after which they freely governed as the liberals that they always were.

The ultimate exercise in this was Mr. Obama’s fall campaign, where he ran as a dull centrist to get elected – and immediately tried to govern as the extreme leftist that he actually is.

We’re sick of the false advertising. If you’re a liberal – run as a liberal, tell the truth about yourself, and either win as you are or lose as you are. Stop scamming us with these continual rounds of false advertising.

If liberalism were such a great product (as claimed), it would sell itself. Why won’t liberals run on their own beliefs?

In any endeavor, if you have a good product you don’t need glitzy “watch the blinking lights” marketing and false advertising to sell it. A good product just requires factual information – and then it sells itself.

  • Skanderbeg

Heh. Couldn’t help but notice that my comment above is numbered “#comment-1776″…. 8)

In any case, if obamos wants to do appropriate penance for flying the freakin’ chicom flag at the WH, on 28 November he should fly this flag – and play this anthem on a continual loop for the entire day:

So there. (As I hope that the embedding works….)

  • IJB

If anything, I feel rather smug these days, because nothing says “schadenfreude” like people getting exactly what they deserve. Also, I like it when scores of people learn valuable life lessons.

Most of those people (esp. young people) who thought it was “cool” to vote for Slobama (and the Dems in ’06 & ’08) are getting one of those “valuable life lessons” right now.

Personally, I can’t wait to see what happens to all those college-aged Obama voters who try to get jobs in the next few years.

See, I’m in the camp that thinks a good loss can actually impart valuable lessons. The truth is, for a bunch of reasons, our side *needed* to lose in 2008. Now, people on our side are taking the proper corrective actions as a result of that.

This is the way the world works.
In fact, I think it’s the way the world is *supposed* to work.

    So am I angry? No.
I am simply ready and determined. :)

with the malodorous stench of his speech targeting America’s schoolchildren. This PResident will be punished for this act of attempted brainwashing.

As one who grew up fearing the USSR and what Kruschev wanted to wreak on all Americans, I see this posturing poseur as the threat and danger that he really is.

Like Paul in Houston above, I’m incensed by the administrations actions and words in re: to Honduras’ constitutional removal of their country’s former usurper in chief. I have ears to hear and eyes to see, Now the US Dept of State is sanctioning Honduras for doing nothing more than preserving their freedom and (probably) ther sovereignty?

I am disgusted by all of your points, but the most frightening of all is what is posted on the state department’s web site in re: Honduras.

    http://www.state.gov/r/pa/prs/ps/2009/sept/128608.htm

We have been vigilant and now that we are roused to action, the electoral punishment will begin in earnest.

so we have to pay the penalty for the stupidity of the masses.

I resent that. I still maintain there needs to be an IQ test to qualify to vote. I think I wrote a diary about “restricting the franchise” a while back. I need to go find it again…

  • Warrior

a conservative was described as one who was worried that “someone, somewhere was having fun”?

But you hit it on the head: A liberal Dem is someone who is afraid that somewhere, someone has slightly more material wealth than someone else. Pitiful.

As for racial, ethnic, or any other type group disparities, they are the NORM, not the reverse. Historically, large, identifiable sub-population groups have different rates of success at different enterprises, in different countries and at different times and for a variety of reasons, the LEAST of which is race, per se.

Dr. Thomas Sowell has written a number of books which more than adequately describe this phenomenon, e.g. “Vision of the Annointed”, “Black Rednecks and White N******s” to name two.

Of course, reading sophisticated sociopolitical analysis is not high on the agenda of ACORN, SEIU, HCAN or any of the rest. And the Obamanation sure as heck doesn’t want the rank and file of victimhood to discover there are many other reasons for such disparities than “racism”.

Asians are a relatively small minority in this country, yet they bust the curve in almost every category of success. And it is due to traits and attributes which the race at large shares (work ethic, valuing education, sacrifice, delayed gratification, etc.), rather than anything as insignificant as skin color, which produces such superlative results for them. And this is why they are left completely out of “minority” set asides, affirmative action, etc. by clever libs targeting their preferred constituency with convoluted and deceptive terminology like”under-represented minorities.”

To tell you the truth, if I were a member of an “under-represented minority”, I would be thoroughly insulted at constantly being described as a social cripple and treated as an ignorant child by such great white benefactors and guardians of the black race as Robert [Exalted Cyclops] Byrd, Ted [Big Water] Kennedy, Nancy [Queenie] Pelosi and Harry [Body Odor] Reid.

I hope and pray I live to see the day when black folks finally realize they have been kept down and used as political pawns by a bunch of Chardonney sipping, Brie eating, limousine riding, self-righteous left-wing WHITE PEOPLE and rise up to send them to the personal obscurity and political netherworld the so richly deserve to occupy!

As I went over in: Dealing with our Frustration with the Politically Brain-dead (try and get any Liberal/dumb neighbors you have to read it – drop it in their door-jam ;-) lol) Political awareness and Coming to grips with the fact the JackAss Party today is nowhere what it used to be just 50 years ago (and even then it was socialist, just the RINO drip drip slow kind) is like the grieving process. We have some that get that SHOCK but quickly just eagerly dwell in the DENIAL phase for the rest of their life. It’s easier that way, of course, to just stumble through life completely oblivious to Reality and keep the little bubble of friends equally in the dark. It is not until we force them to view out their window and see REALITY that they will get to the ANGER phase and to ultimate ACCEPTANCE of the error of their LIBERAL LAZINESS childishness (ultimately selfish, extort from others rather than do ANYTHING themselves to help their friends, family, neighbors, etc).

I say this all, of course, NOT for thoughtful RedStaters but for the visitors we have that hadn’t figured this out yet and/or for those that might need one additional “thought-provoking” way to try and awaken one of the Brain-deads that may be in their life.

You hit just about all the major points except a few others I didn’t see addressed.

Here’s a guy who drops charges on Domestic Black Panther terrorists caught on video intimidating whites at polling locations with a billy club. This is standing up for the rights of terrorists. You’ve heard more disparaging words from this administration concerning Tea Party folk than you’ve heard concerning Black Panther Terrorists.

He drops those charges – then turns around and drives full speed ahead on an effort to prosecute CIA agents for Enhanced Interrogation Techniques (EIT’s) … techniques which have been proven to have saved hundreds, even thousands of lives. And … let’s be honest here – we waterboarded three dudes – the top three dudes of AQ – the organization that killed 3,000 of our countrymen on 9-11. And let’s be honest in saying that these CIA agents are no more war criminals than their beloved Harry Truman was for dropping two nuclear bombs on civilian population in Japan was.

Standing up for the rights of Terrorists.

We’ve got ALCU stalking those CIA agents and giving information on them to their terrorist clients. Now – outing Valerie Plame – essentially a typist for the CIA in Virginia is a great crime – just ask Scooter Libby. But we can put these REAL agents in danger from being hit by AQ and it’s not a big deal.

Standing up for the Rights of Terrorists.

I say we call the Democrats the “Terrorist’s Right’s Party”. The new symbol should be a terrorist holding a donkey by a nose harness.

Never fear though – dude is outed – the American people finally know who Obama is. It’s over for him.

  • sybilll

Like his condescending way of starting off a statement, looking down his nose, and saying “Look……….”. Like I am an adolescent. Even his body language is now making me cringe.
Thank goodness, I will get to blow off some steam tonight, when the Tea Party Express comes to town!

But appropriate for the emissary you are for America. I liked your comment regarding the deception the liberals practice to get elected. It has been infuriating to see them pretend to be something they are not and not only get a foot in the door, but move into the house. The left figured out decades ago they had to disguise themselves. IMO, America then, as now, would never knowingly elect a Socialist/Communist.

BTW, loved the flag and stirring music.

Stay safe in your travels. Regards, penguin

  • sickofitall

The nerve of this b*stard! I just can’t believe that an avowed supporter of child murder (and thus child murderer himself) thinks he’s got the right to indoctrinate our children against us? For me that’s the final straw. I no longer want him to fail, I want worse. Yes, Biden is an idiot and an ass and in many ways is just as bad (though at least we can be sure he’s not lying about being a Muslim!), but he won’t have the kind of pull that the Obamination has with Congress or the American people. Instead of having 3 more years to ruin our country the worst we’d get is 3 years of gridlock (or 1 after we clean up in ’10). I used to wonder how much was too much, what the tipping point was. Now I know.

Nothing like backing up your words with research!!!!

I just skimmed through the math draft for review. Apart from the labeling error on the illustration for item 3 on page 21 (last time I looked 3cm is shorter than 4cm!) the standards are just fine for High School students. The biggest problem is that most High School math courses (in public schools, anyway) aren’t taught by math majors! Trying to teach math when you don’t like/understand math is difficult!

Setting the standards is an admirable thing, actually getting anyone to adhere to them is…well problematic. What are we going to do with those students who don’t meet the standards, promote them like we do now? (Wouldn’t want to hurt their self esteem you know!)

What are you going to do with the incompetent teachers? Fire them? RIIIIGGGGGHT! Like the teachers’ unions would let you do that.

The only way to improve our educational system is to open it up to competition. Public schools…fine two systems per city/town/school district/whatever(!) and let the parents decide which school their kids attend. A school voucher system would be even better! When you control how the money is being spent you tend to take a more active role in how it is being utilized!

I hope Sarah Palin sees it. Pronto.

    “As I’ve said all along”

Both of those are signals that he’s about ready to tell another whopper.

“Condescending” is definitely his schtick. The nose in the air snootiness, as if he’s some sort of royalty, makes me want to hurl. (And I’m not saying what…)

Vision of the Anointed is one of the books I enjoyed while dealing with the attempted liberal indoctrination called college. More recently, The Bell Curve has provided me the most interesting insights into disparities and their causes.

    1) The process of producing these guidelines has been secretive, in terms of selecting the people drafting the guidelines and the lack of public input into the drafting process. Only now at the end of the process are they allowing comments, and the outcome at best will be tweaks (unless they’re forced to withdraw them due to a huge public outcry – but so far they’re mostly staying under the radar.

    2) The federal government shouldn’t be dictating these standards anyway – that should be at the state or local level (coupled with school choice, of course). And while these will be simply standards or advisory, the threat of federal funding withholding will make these an offer that can’t be refused.

But math is likely to be the least controversial area. I suggest you look at the social studies in particular which is the most likely to be seriously flawed and representing indoctrination. English would be interesting to see if they dumb down grammar and what literature is to be studied. Science – look to see whether we’re seeing indoctrination regarding environmentalism, global climate change (or whatever the current title is), and perhaps evolutionary biology. Then you may have a better idea as to whether there is a political agenda behind this curriculum or not.

Mad that no one here will even begin to look at the truth about the real lies about health care:

    htp://factcheck.org/2009/08/twenty-six-lies-about-hr-3200/

facts are facts, and there is no debate without them, correct? If these aren’t facts then tell me the real truth please.

One other thing: There’s something that needs to be cleared up about this statement that keeps being thrown around by Karl Marx:

“From each according to his ability, to each according to his need”

This has no real bearing on the health care debate unfortunately. This is from the “Critique of the Gotha Program” written in 1875, and the real originator of the phrase is Louis Blanc, not Marx.

It is a flawed concept but it has no bearing on health care whatsoever. This is because when it was written there basically was no real health care as we know it today. Also, it was about people contributing different amounts to society but in return receiving the same rations. But the rations were food, shoes, clothing, and all of the same kind.

This statement is about tangible goods and housing, not saving people’s lives through medical practice, it predates any real notion of a modern health care system. In a health acre system there isn’t supposed to be any rationing as it defeats the purpose of the system. Private insurers are doing it anyway. So, in effect, we all pay varying premiums but don’t even get equal care. Interesting thing that is.

If you want to ignore that then that’s fine, but maybe you shouldn’t. maybe you should take all factual information into consideration before forming an opinion.

That is called be willfully ignorant.

And thanks, Neil, for taking care of that. I need to go clean him off my shoe now.

for me was the administration’s view of citizens with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. I voted against Obama (not “for” McCain) because he (Obama) was an un-apologetic Marxist. I was willing to give him some latitude when he was first elected. By his inauguration, I had removed any latitude. His inauguration speech alone served notice that the “radical-lefty” was here to rule.

I will continue to educate my liberal friends and family to the Obamacare version of Uncle Adolf’s “utopia” (people with aforementioned dieases becoming “non-persons” after the condition reaches a certain level, and being denied care).

My uncle and aunt, die-hard lefties, did not realize the consequences to their neice (my wife). They are learning, slowly but surely, that their beloved “Messiah” looks nothing like the 1st-century Nazarene. Rather, his policies, and the views of his advisors, are much more reminiscent of the 20th-century Fuhrer. “Angry” doesn’t begin to touch the feelings I experience when I read the world-views of such people as Ezekial Emanuel, John Holdren, and Peter Singer.

While I have never been a Republican; I have always been a Conservative. Sites such as RedState have served to inform, entertain, and enlighten me. It’s personal… and it’s ideological…and it’s time to become much more politically active.

    Great diary, and terrific points!
