Take note Texans: We are witnessing the difference between a conservative and a republican

EE mentioned on Bortz’ radio show this morning, he believes the left has given up at the state level to focus pushing their agenda at the federal level. Quite frankly, the left doesn’t need to worry about the state level because republicans will promote the progressive agenda for them.

I am being inundated by conservative grassroots organizations and blogs to please call Gov. Perry to veto republican legislation? The citizens last resort has become contacting the governor’s office to stop legislation being put forth by a super-majority of republicans…not conservatives.

Conservative House members would not have voted for a redistricting plan placing tea party freshman representatives at risk. Nor would conservative House members have voted for a speaker who made this possible. Oh, that’s right they did.

Conservative House members would not have voted for an internet tax paving the way for a federal move to tax the internet. Oh, that’s right they did

Conservative Senate members would not have voted for a redistricting plan for the State Board of Education making it virtually impossible for a conservative/former navy/hispanic board member to be re-elected. Oh, that’s right they did.

Perhaps I should find a parallel universe because all of this and more happend this week in our legislature. Republicans voted for this legislation not conservatives.

In Texas, our governor is going to have to push back against federal encroachment and push back against his own legislature. As a conservative, I believe the governor is our last hope. As a republican, I throw my hands up in the air.

The GOP has taken both chambers of the state legislature for the first time in 38 years, and amongst all their tough talk about reining in spending, about all they can offer up is milquetoast, middling establishment-driven simpering to their Democrat masters. It is eternally frustrating.

So many Republicans have the mindset that they are merely fortunate to be allowed at the same table as Democrats, and they gear their tenure toward constantly gesturing to the Left that they are not too far to the Right.

Democrats have no such compunctions when they hold majorities, and it’s damn time the GOP grow a pair of frakkin testicles – Texas, Minnesota, DC, everywhere.

Should not even need to be written. We should each be bragging how our republican legislature is out doing your republican legislature in passing conservative bills. Instead, we are vying for who ranks closest to the bottom!

Coldwarrior’s mission to get conservatives into precincts chairs rings truer every day. I would add the need to begin searching for a legitimate conservative candidate to primary each republican who cannot abide by the will of their constituents.

Like PA looks like they will be doing.

I’m not sure how many Democrat-supporting voters take advantage of it, but I certainly see no harm in reconsidering the policy.

Amendment to SB2040 would water down e-Verify requirement to only to used for state employment assistance office, instead of for all employers. We’ll see soon how committed to his agenda that Gov. Scott is. I hope vetoes this nonsense.

This is just crazy (as I’m shaking my head). Texas’ attempt at E-verify is stuck in committee and will likely stay there.

I am fully convinced it will take a couple of election cycles to filter out the elected officials holding up bills such as E-verify. Our filing deadline to run is Jan. 1 2012. This date is quickly approaching. Are conservatives in your network looking for candidates to primary these guys?

If Florida Senate President Haridopolos (my state senator) does not push hard for mandatory E-verify in SB 2040, he will have shown his leadership skills are lacking, and his judgment is unsound. Plus, he can kiss his US Senate aspirations good bye, as another GOP squish.

While most Texans were preparing for the Royal Wedding, The Texas State House (which is made up of 102 Republicans and 48 Democrats) pasted a redistricting bill that loses Republican seats! By their own count we will have maybe 84 seats after the next election.

The Speaker of the Texas House is as non conservative Republican as you can get, and he needs those Democrat votes to stay speaker, so let?s just kill some Republican Districts.

Let?s make sure that legislator that listen to their constituents or have a conservative voting record get harmed as much as possible.

Let?s take two swing districts and turn it in to one Republican district(that has a establishment republican incumbent) and one Democrat district (where the incumbent won by 4 votes). But that is ok because they will both support the Speaker!

Let?s take two other districts that have Republicans in them (one that voted against the speaker) and pair them so they have to run against each other. (And just forget about the allegations from last year that if you did not vote for the speaker you were going to get redistricted out).

I was very proud of the 17 representatives that listen to their constituents and did not vote for the speaker but I guess 10 of them lost their intestinal fortitude to do the right thing (some even voted for the redistricting bill that hurts them!

Let’s forget about the Republican Platform, you know that document that Texans put together, heck as Representatives we don’t care about what the platform says until election time when we need those votes.

The stupid constituents are too busy watching the wedding to pay attention to how we are kissing up to the establishment and the lobbyists.

This could have and should have been a stellar year for Texas but we voted for wimps that have totally forgotten their promises to stop business as usual.

I know who John Gault is, I just don’t know where he is. Texas could have been Gault?s Gulch but it takes honest dedicated people to create and protect our way of life.

You do not get that by going along to get along!

You don’t get that by allowing bad bills so you can get your watered down bill through committee.

    I am a proud 2 % er!

OK the TX House passed bill #120 and the Senate wants the SBOE bill #118. BUT no matter who I call, Amer for Prosperity, Congressional offices, or where I look it up I cannot find out who knows how many R seats we are losing. BEFORE this it was stated to be 101then 97, then to 93. Now we are at 88??

What I do know for sure is “the bill” pits at least 8 R’s against each other while leavng open seats in neighboring districst. It does appear that Straus is keeping his promise to punish the people who went against him because he knows the Dems he is supporting will support him right back. Also what we do know is that many bills the House have passed are hung up (like sonogram) and never completed.

What our Rep is telling us is that if we do not have an “acceptable” plan the Feds, that is Obama, will come in and re-district Texas! So we have to take this disaster lying down??
